It's an old country house that was given to the slaves on Curacao when they were free. You can see how they lived, with many people in a smaal (cool) house. The owner of this country house is born in this house. She can tell you about the way of life and all of the habits. Everyone must see this.

This is very important and interesting information. One thing that would help is to give an overview of it first. There are many interesting details, and the guides were clear and showed us as well as told us.

Our guide, Florence, was very informative and explained everything very well in both English & Spanish! The history here in Curaçao is plenty and this outdoor-oriented museum does a great job demonstrating what life was like back in the day for rural curaçao. Highly recommend. Takes about 35-45 minutes.

We were on a cruise ship excursion that stopped at this outdoor-oriented museum. It is authentic and provides genuine insight into the lives of slaves on Curacao years ago. The guides are indeed wonderful, as someone else earlier noted. Recommend a stop here.

We visited this museum on a Princess shore excursion. The guide was very good and informative. We learned a lot about catus and use of natural products. We also learned about the life of the liberated slaves.

The guide was new and was very open and friendly. She taught me a few things about cacti, kitchen utensils, history. Then we talked about her lineage which was interesting!!!

Our group was about 40 people so we were split into two groups, each with a guide. This small living history museum is laid well. We learned about the daily life of the freed slaves. Even children would enjoy this open air museum.

Our tour of this very small property was packed full of information and interactive learning. Our interpretor was very passionate about post emancipation history and spent extra time to chat with us after the tour was complete. It was our favorite excursion/activity and it should not be missed.

This little house and village is hard to find, but be sure to do it. The experience is unique and important. The guide was wonderful and transported us to the time of slavery, showing us the hardships of life working on a plantation. What a really eye opening experience.
