About
Add this once-in-a-lifetime golf experience to your “must play” list located within the Santa Barbara Planation. Designed by the legendary golf architect Pete Dye, the par 72 Old Quarry Golf Course draws its name from the historic quarries where famed Curaçao marble is mined. If you’re looking for a phenomenal getaway, our golf course is the perfect choice. Pete Dye's championship seaside layout was designed to fit seamlessly into the islands's hills and valleys. A challenge to players of all skill levels, the course meanders between the stunning blue Caribbean Sea, the slopes and hills of the Tafelberg Mountain and the sheltered bay known as Spanish Water. To assure it would be built true to the conservation principles of Santa Barbara's owners, Pete Dye's son P.B.Dye along with the Golf Manager, Jim Bolinger, planted its fairways and greens with the hearty Paspalum grass, which can be irrigated using both brackish and recycled water. A handsome clubhouse and restaurant answer golfers' needs and provide a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea.

Played here in December while visiting the island for the first time.
I’ve played a lot of golf across the Caribbean so it’s natural for me to compare courses and respective values.
My experience here got off to a rocky start. After shelling out over $200 US for the round and rentals, I inquired about a warm up bucket. The staff member indicated that was extra, but then said she was feeling generous and ‘gave’ me a token gratis. I was then directed to the range which is a legitimate 5 min ride by cart from the pro shop. Once I got to the range I put the token in and….nothing, no balls came out. I ended up having to walk around the range and gather up my own balls in order to make the lengthy venture worth it all . Needless to say, less than impressive.
While I liked most of the holes, I didn’t find them particularly scenic or inspiring. I found the conditions of the fairways average at best and the greens were covered in sand, probably the slowest greens I’ve ever played.
One positive, the course was next to empty, so I was able to play the round in less than 3 hours. Be prepared to lose a few balls because the wind will play havoc at times, and is often hard to gauge.
Overall, I’d say I liked the course but definitely found it over priced for the experience and the conditions. Just seems they’re taking advantage of a lack of competition and golfing options on the island. I wouldn’t put this on par with other top courses in the Caribbean.
Would not go out of my way to play here should I visit the island again.

Booked 3 rounds here while staying at the resort (when it was open). What an amazing course. Tough layout as with all Pete Dye designed courses. Surrounding views are impeccable as they give you the perfect mix of ocean and mountain backdrops.
Staff was very friendly and communicated well. Never crowded and the greens were in great shape. Definitely bring a good share of golf balls as the winds around the course are quite strong and will throw you for a loop.

We were in Curacuo on a cruise in March 2020. My husband loves to golf at different courses so we always look for at least one course on each cruise. We found Old Quarry online and they had a great cruise special he cou golf and my daughters and I went to the resort. They pick you up at the port and bring you back to the port. My husband loved the course. He was happy to play a Pete Dye course not sure what that means. My daughters and I spent the day at the resort which was BEAUTIFUL!
The resort had a pool and beach restraunt all included in the price. The price included all drinks and food for the entire time you are there. We spent 4 hours and my husband came after golf. He said the course was empty and finished quickly. the golf package included clubs cart lunch and round of golf. Curacao has the nicest people I have ever met on vacation and this resort was no exception. This is the second time coming here and I will return again

The course is quite difficult - as grass rough is not existing. Due to the design of a very hilly fairway - you are in big risk of ending out of fairway - and then your ball is lost. Longer grass / rough in the sides of fairway would be good

For over 40 years, we've been going south for a 1 week golf vacation during the winter. The Old Quarry GC is one of the best in the Caribbean. Start first 2 holes with the Sea on your right and a 2 club wind directly in your face. Rest of holes travel all over the Santa Barbara plantation - great views. Greens can be very difficult since some are like upside down bowls - hard to keep ball on greens. A lot of fun golfing this course but bring lots of balls. After the 18th is the Bocca 19 restaurant - a perfect end to a perfect day

Fantastic course - picked up from cruise port and 25 mins later in pro shop- warm welcome and off to meet starter with the buggy. Great hire clubs - a few places to top up water bottle around course. Superb course with many different holes - a must if your in the area

Stopped In Curaco on a Cruise. This was the First time i have ever played golf in the Caribbean. It was expensive for what i am used to paying, but well worth it. The winds were brutal the day I played. it didn't help that it had been about 3 months since touched a club. This is a difficult course with elevated tees and undulating greens. I would play this course again,

This is our 3rd time visiting and organizing and event at the Old Quarry. Ed and Jane do a fantastic job ensuring everything is perfect and always accommodating with last minute changes. Golf service staff are on the ball setting up the carts and ensuring your clubs are cleaned after the round. We look forward to visiting again.

I golfed Old Quarry two times during my stay in Curacao and the golf course was beautiful, fun and challenging. Not many places in the Caribbean have golf courses, let alone one of this quality.
The course was in pretty darn good shape and had excellent views of the beaches, ocean, harbor and real estate.
The course was challenging, but fair. Highly recommend playing a round here if you're in the area and have time.

The course itself is great for all levels of play. The greens, fairways and bunkers were all in fantastic shape. Better bring a camera, the views are incredible. If you want to play golf in Curacao, this is a must play..

How far is Old Quarry Golf course from cruise terminal & what would the taxi fare be round trip.

Sandy,
You are about 30 minutes away from the Santa Barbara Golf course. The terminal is located in the neighborhood of Otrobanda before the entrance to the canal and Queen Juliana bridge.
The cost tends to be around $50. USD for one way. But you can search the web and call ahead for information.
The other option is that cruise ships will coordinate golf outings for some of their stops. Call the cruise line as it would be under their excursion desk.
Finally, I rented clubs and greens fee and all together is was slightly over $200 p/p per round. Again the cruise ship may be able to offer a better package price.
Enjoy your trip. Raymond

Do you happen to know how far the course is from the cruise port? We are coming in on a cruise next week and my husband wants to see if he can set something up. I have tried to email the course and I getting the email back "undeliverable"
Is there a shuttle from the pier to the golf course? Where do I meet it? What is the cost?

Sorry Tonto16, I missed your question. I am pretty sure there is no shuttle, but I do not know for sure, as we stayed in the resort out there. Its a nice course though, in my opinion much nicer than blue bay
