About
Add this once-in-a-lifetime golf experience to your “must play” list located within the Santa Barbara Planation. Designed by the legendary golf architect Pete Dye, the par 72 Old Quarry Golf Course draws its name from the historic quarries where famed Curaçao marble is mined. If you’re looking for a phenomenal getaway, our golf course is the perfect choice. Pete Dye's championship seaside layout was designed to fit seamlessly into the islands's hills and valleys. A challenge to players of all skill levels, the course meanders between the stunning blue Caribbean Sea, the slopes and hills of the Tafelberg Mountain and the sheltered bay known as Spanish Water. To assure it would be built true to the conservation principles of Santa Barbara's owners, Pete Dye's son P.B.Dye along with the Golf Manager, Jim Bolinger, planted its fairways and greens with the hearty Paspalum grass, which can be irrigated using both brackish and recycled water. A handsome clubhouse and restaurant answer golfers' needs and provide a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea.

Played here in December while visiting the island for the first time.

I’ve played a lot of golf across the Caribbean so it’s natural for me to compare courses and respective values.

My experience here got off to a rocky start. After shelling out over $200 US for the round and rentals, I inquired about a warm up bucket. The staff member indicated that was extra, but then said she was feeling generous and ‘gave’ me a token gratis. I was then directed to the range which is a legitimate 5 min ride by cart from the pro shop. Once I got to the range I put the token in and….nothing, no balls came out. I ended up having to walk around the range and gather up my own balls in order to make the lengthy venture worth it all . Needless to say, less than impressive.

While I liked most of the holes, I didn’t find them particularly scenic or inspiring. I found the conditions of the fairways average at best and the greens were covered in sand, probably the slowest greens I’ve ever played.

One positive, the course was next to empty, so I was able to play the round in less than 3 hours. Be prepared to lose a few balls because the wind will play havoc at times, and is often hard to gauge.

Overall, I’d say I liked the course but definitely found it over priced for the experience and the conditions. Just seems they’re taking advantage of a lack of competition and golfing options on the island. I wouldn’t put this on par with other top courses in the Caribbean.

Would not go out of my way to play here should I visit the island again.

A really beautifull golf course but far too expresive for the service you get. The sanitary provisions are awfull. No driving range before noon, pro shop closed early afternoon, very bad shower faciltiy, dirty and no towels. The personnel of the adjacent Sandals hotel use this room as well to rest and shower.

even though the course is great I will not return at that price. Crazy

This course is very picturesque. Although not a lot of holes on the ocean, water comes into play on a lot of the holes with inlets and brackish water very close to the fairway. This is a desert course that is well watered. There were many holes that were squishly when you walked. Greens did not hold balls great but rolled better than they looked like they would. Humidity takes it's toll on your length and your sweat. I drank 6+ bottles of water to play 18 holes. There is almost total thorns off the fairway and, even though you can see golf balls, you know right away why no one ventures in to grab them. Wind always seemed to be in my face all day. There was various wild life including some donkey feces almost on one green. I brought two sleeves of balls with me and the pro shop spots you one. I finished the round with all 9 of those balls plus 3 I found along the way. So I never lost a ball and shot a 98 with one birdie. My 5 iron was barely going 145 yards into the wind. The club rentals were not horrible but they only have regular flex and the selection was D,3W, 5W, 5I, 6,7,8,9, PW, LW and putter. A long iron, rescue club and sand wedge could be, and should be added. My cost was $288 for cart, greens fee and club rental. Brought my own tees and glove and played in my sneakers. Pricey yes, but may never get there again so it was worth my while. Just thought the price was too high all factors considered. Make sure to stay hydrated and stay out of the thorns.

For over 40 years, we've been going south for a 1 week golf vacation during the winter. The Old Quarry GC is one of the best in the Caribbean. Start first 2 holes with the Sea on your right and a 2 club wind directly in your face. Rest of holes travel all over the Santa Barbara plantation - great views. Greens can be very difficult since some are like upside down bowls - hard to keep ball on greens. A lot of fun golfing this course but bring lots of balls. After the 18th is the Bocca 19 restaurant - a perfect end to a perfect day

Played a round at the Old Quarry Golf Course on February 18th. Staff at the course were very helpful and paired me up with a lovely couple from Florida. The course was very scenic and challenging. Greens were not the best but playable. A few holes played along the ocean while others were reclaimed from an old limestone quarry. Long cart drives between holes gave you a chance to cool off.
The grounds were in great shape and well kept. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a cart person show up at any point during our round with refreshments or snacks. Especially because the restaurants and bars were closed on site. Strange considering it was a weekend (Saturday) and in the middle of peak season there.
Despite the price and lack of service it was a fun day on the course.

This is our 3rd time visiting and organizing and event at the Old Quarry. Ed and Jane do a fantastic job ensuring everything is perfect and always accommodating with last minute changes. Golf service staff are on the ball setting up the carts and ensuring your clubs are cleaned after the round. We look forward to visiting again.

Booked 3 rounds here while staying at the resort (when it was open). What an amazing course. Tough layout as with all Pete Dye designed courses. Surrounding views are impeccable as they give you the perfect mix of ocean and mountain backdrops.
Staff was very friendly and communicated well. Never crowded and the greens were in great shape. Definitely bring a good share of golf balls as the winds around the course are quite strong and will throw you for a loop.

Stopped In Curaco on a Cruise. This was the First time i have ever played golf in the Caribbean. It was expensive for what i am used to paying, but well worth it. The winds were brutal the day I played. it didn't help that it had been about 3 months since touched a club. This is a difficult course with elevated tees and undulating greens. I would play this course again,

Go for the golf and stay for the views! I recently visited Old Quarry Golf Course in Curacao and will definitley be back! I do not golf myself, but my husband does. I went along for the views and they didn't disappoint. The grounds were very well maintained with many natural elements and fantastic ocean, mountain, and marina views. The stone benches and markers were beautiful. Seeing the occasional iguana cross our path was also a delight. My husband enjoyed his round of golf and returned the next day for another go at it. I will certainly be recommending Old Quarry to friends, wonderful stay and experience overall.

I was hoping to practice in the driving range, having some lessons, and play a few days at the course but the lady at the Old Quarry was not in a good mode to provide me the assistance I needed to accomplish my plans. The final result. 12 days stay at Santa Barbara resort and did not touch the golf clubs.
