The snorkeling here was like being in an aquarium - saw hundreds of fish and some turtles and I didn't go far out at all. Also great for the sunset.

We love this little cove! The snorkeling is great and definitely one of our favorite spots. The beach is a bit rocky, but since we are there to snorkel, it is totally fine. There is not a full service facilities, but you can use the...More

This small bay is great for snorkeling often accompanied by a small turtle. The beach is also small, but you can rent a deckchair and have a drink and/or a nice meal in the Bahia restaurant above the beach.

We had the best time snorkeling around Playa Lagun from our room at Laguna Blou. The water is crystal clear with a blueish hue. Plenty of colorful fish and saw turtles on the first day. A real pretty place to visit, snorkel or just chill.

This is a nice beach, with some rocks/coral. The snorkeling was amazing, and one of our favorites. We saw a turtle, and further out a ray, plus tons of fish. It is a free beach and there are lounges available for a fee. Do watch...More

If you want to dive, this is a good place. Snorkeling? Idem. Swimming in crystal clear waters? Idem. Watching a gorgeous sunset? Yep!

This beach is interesting. On both sides his a high rise of rocks with elevated land. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant. Food wasn't that bad. Dutch beer was $2 bottle. The waters were nice and had...More

Playa Lagun is a small beach where you can snorkel. There are very view beds available and the smell of dead fish is terrible. In the water you see lots of fish parts. Family went snorkeling but didn’t see much part from dead fish parts....More

I am reluctant to write a good review about this place because I don't want to share it. Luckily I know that most people are too lazy to make the effort to go to a place like this. I was ready to die a happy...More

Hi, Does anybody know if lockers and/or kayaks are available for rent at Playa Lagun? Thanks a lot. We are visiting next month and are very excited!

Day trips by bus from town - to beaches and Sol Food (2 Replies)
I'll be in Curacao soon staying in town and would like to take the bus to other parts of the island for snorkeling. I'd like to get to a nice beach with food available. Can anyone help me plan a few inexpensive day trips? I'm thinking Playa Lagun for one day. I'd also like to eat at Sol Food (westpunt), but is there a beach nearby (walkable)? I know Sol Food is open just Fri-Sun, but are Sunday buses hard to get back to town? The bus schedule says "alternative routes on Sundays" which...More

Thanks for thinking of us but.... When exactly will you be on the island? Carnival is starting and it plays havoc with the bus schedule. My favorite place to snorkel is in Lagun although I do like to snorkel both in front of the Lodge and behind the house in the bay. Unfortunately there is not a bus that runs from Lagun to Westpunt; crazy, I know. If you can afford a car for even just one day, you could tour the entire west end of the island; beaches, national parks and landhuises. I think...More
