We stopped at this beach after snorkeling with turtles at Playa Piscado/Sabana Westpunt. It was on our way back to the cruise port. This is a small beach situated between two large cliffs. There are restrooms, a hotel, and a dive shop nearby. There is...More

We were just looking for snorkel spots, and decided to try Playa Lagun. We found parking in the mid afternoon (3pm?), walked to the beach, set up our stuff on a tree stump, and headed in. There was a little traffic snorkeling, I think some...More

We sepcially went to this place to swim and snorkel in the hope to see sea turtles. And yes, we did see three of them, really close by and we swam alongside. Very nice experience. The beach itself is small, but OK.

We stopped here after swimming with the turtles in playa pescado/grandi (highly recommend but go early). It was a nice place to relax and swim/snorkel. They had plenty of parking and a bathroom. There is also a restaurant nearby and they even had someone offering...More

Small rocky beach but a great place to snorkel. Saw lots of fish and a turtle or two. Chairs to rent are available.

Playa Lagun had crystal clear and calm waters for snorkeling. The visibility was great and enjoyed swimming with a turtle!

We spent a few hours snorkeling at Playa Lagun. There are restrooms available and a Security Guard on duty. We started on the left hand side of the cove and saw a ton of different fish. We migrated to the other side where there were...More

The snorkeling here was like being in an aquarium - saw hundreds of fish and some turtles and I didn't go far out at all. Also great for the sunset.

We love this little cove! The snorkeling is great and definitely one of our favorite spots. The beach is a bit rocky, but since we are there to snorkel, it is totally fine. There is not a full service facilities, but you can use the...More

Hi, Does anybody know if lockers and/or kayaks are available for rent at Playa Lagun? Thanks a lot. We are visiting next month and are very excited!

Day trips by bus from town - to beaches and Sol Food (2 Replies)
I'll be in Curacao soon staying in town and would like to take the bus to other parts of the island for snorkeling. I'd like to get to a nice beach with food available. Can anyone help me plan a few inexpensive day trips? I'm thinking Playa Lagun for one day. I'd also like to eat at Sol Food (westpunt), but is there a beach nearby (walkable)? I know Sol Food is open just Fri-Sun, but are Sunday buses hard to get back to town? The bus schedule says "alternative routes on Sundays" which...More

Thanks for thinking of us but.... When exactly will you be on the island? Carnival is starting and it plays havoc with the bus schedule. My favorite place to snorkel is in Lagun although I do like to snorkel both in front of the Lodge and behind the house in the bay. Unfortunately there is not a bus that runs from Lagun to Westpunt; crazy, I know. If you can afford a car for even just one day, you could tour the entire west end of the island; beaches, national parks and landhuises. I think...More
