One of the best beaches I've ever been to
I was dazzled by crystal clear water, we went to a dozen beaches in Curacao, but this was by far the nicest for a relaxing day. The sand was so soft and mostly coral free (many Curacao beaches have lots of coral which is tough on bare feet), no waves. Get there early if you want to rent loungers ($3USD each and you get a shower token).

Nice beach (but bring some seat padding if you have it!)
Very nice and cheap full service beach - also known as Bon Bini Beach. Entrance is NAF 10 per car, and NAF 5 for a bed each. Including one shower coin per bed. Extra shower coins are NAF 1 each. Reviews claiming that this is a commercial and/or very expensive beach because it's free to swim on most beaches are simply not true: at every full service resort beach you have to pay an entrance fee and pass a guard before you can park your car. Cas Abou is no exception. If you want a free swim, go to a local beach like Playa Parassa or Marie Pompoen. A dirt road that could be a challenge with a small and/or low car, leads to the parking lot. Expect a mix of locals, expats and tourists. The water here is crystal clear, but as with most Curaçao beaches you can expect rocks in the sand. There is a small snack bar catered towards local, Dutch cuisine and a small selection of good cocktails like Piña Colado on offer. There's a 'we don't have steak' sign on the menu board, so I'm assuming they got fed up by American tourists asking if they served steak ;) There isn't much shade on this beach: spots under a palm tree or parasols thus are in popular demand. Do keep in in mind that there are coconuts growing in those palm trees and that it tends to get very windy on the beach. So personally I would not be that comfortable with sitting under a palm tree when there is that small, but present chance or your skull getting crushed. Just saying! Furthermore, there is Wi-Fi. But you need to be close to the snack bar (where the router is) to get a decent connections. Toilets are okay and cleaned regularly. The only downside of this beach is that the plastic beach beds are very, very, very uncomfortable. If you are able to bring some kind of seat padding with you I'd suggest you do so. You'll thank me for it!

    Beautiful beach very crowded
Beautiful beach, plenty of shaded areas. Very crowded today. Possibly because of the carnival holiday. Many buses dropping off crowds. Also three larger boats backed into the cove. Jet skis were deployed and buzzed around the area. Some dropped people off on the beach. Another party boat came in with music blasting breaking the peaceful day. Fortunately they left a while later.

    Horrible experience
The vast majority of the beach was roped off for cruise ship guests yet to arrive. The remaining paying guests were corralled into a tiny section with very few chairs. The staff were rude to non cruise guests leaving us to feel unwanted and unwelcome. We could not secure chairs or beach space so left after getting our money back. Note this was in the morning . Beautiful beach but won’t be back after this experience

    Amazing beach. Terrible business attitude.
We came to this amazing beach at 5 PM. We had to pay full entry fee, luckily we didn’t rent any sunbeds and sunshade, as we had to left the beach before 6 PM. The staff started to rush as out of water 20 minutes before 6 PM, because the beach was closing. Why to put a big photo of a lady taking a sunset pic next to the beach entrance, when it is impossible to take one? The sun sets down at 6:40, so you can’t carch it on camera. Secind big issue is, that the owner rents the entire middle part of the beach to a cruise tours, so you have to stay on sides which have mainly rocky entrance to the water and also a rocky sea bottom. This is a perfetc example how can greed destroy otherwise top-notch experience.

    Turquoise waters
Beautiful unique beach. This beach was recommended to me by a local tour guide. It has gorgeous turquoise waters-entrance fee of $6 and $7 on Sundays. Very nice snack bar right in the middle had reasonable prices. There were two sides to this beach- a rocky side (water shoes are a MUST) and a sandier side. On the Sandy side note that the waves were bigger and a bit of a tide. It was a bit rough for my little daughter. We ended up sitting near the shore together and I then went snorkeling in the rockier side with my teen son. We had a blast. Not too many fish to see but the water was beautiful with gentle waves. Definitely recommend this beach a real local experience!!!

    Large beach, has amenities
Spent afternoon at Cas Abao beach. Many amenities, including beach chair rentals, snorkel equipment rentals, bathrooms and a small restaurant/bar. There were also lockers but they were expensive ($8) compared to other beaches in the area. Also no wifi available at the bar. Snorkeling here was not as good as at Playa PortoMari.

    Good beach , decent snorkeling
Although this is a pay per entry beach, the entry fee is really high to drive down an unlaced dirt road. Put some of all that money into paving the road. We then paid $3 USD per chaise beach chair. Okay you have taken our money. Luckily we love islands and deal with what one must do.

    Beautiful beach
A nice beach which is rather wide. If you want a place in the shadow, you need to arrive early as all the parasols are fixed and quickly occupied. Take your own food and drinks (in a cool box preferably) as the restaurant serves only simple food and drinks.

Best parts caution taped off for Cruise Ships - used to be # 1
As I write this I have Ojays "Use Ta be My Girl" playing in my head b/c this was our favorite beach. And when I say our, I mean the group of us that would always go for the past 6-10 years. I've been going for 12 as a resident here. Pretty much our go-to beach. I understand getting cruise ships there to boost business and get some extra cash flow but, come on, don't caution tape off the best parts where it it isn't super rocky. Which is the far right side. "Well, you should get there earlier" you say. We do. First thing as it opens up, we would get a nice spot and set up for the day and stay until close. When we would leave, we would make sure everything was cleaned up, and give a big shout to "The Bao" for another lovely beach day with the Curacao homies. However, these past 6 or 7 months that doesn't even matter b/c 30 - 40% of the beach is cation taped off and you can't really enjoy it. Should be first come, first serve like all the other beaches in Curacao. I do feel bad for people taking in flights to see this absolutely gorgeous beach b/c when they arrive, there is caution tape like an investigation is underway. *****With all that aside, the people at the Dive Shop are absolutely top notch and great people to dive with. The Chickie Nuggies at the little restaurant are fantastic and the chair people are nice. The taping off the beach has nothing to do with the Dive Shop and the Restaurant there. So, on that note....I will leave the beach with a little Player "Baby Come BACK." P.S. Sorry to the security guy on the beach that I yelled at for the taping off. Not your fault bud, you're just doing your job.

This beach was beautiful and the best place to snorkel. I wish we could have spent a few more hours there. They have a little restaurant, bathrooms, an open-air dive shop, place to get a beachside massage and plenty of parking. I didn't like how everything was roped off for cruise ship tours with caution tape because it looked unnatural but we were part of that group and paid about $50 USD each to go to the beach from the terminal in Willemstad. It was well worth it to see!!!

There are some great things about Cas Abao beach: you can buy a drink or lunch at the snack shack/bar, there are palapas and other areas with shade, the water was beautiful and fairly calm, there’s a wide beach so lots of room, there are restrooms and a dive shop. The sand is very fine and soft compared to some beaches although there’s also rocks, dead coral pieces and sticks to negotiate while getting into the water. If you’re just swimming, water shoes are a good idea. Chair rental was US$3 each, bring small US bills! Entry to the beach costs US$6 per car during the week and we paid by credit card which was nice since we didn’t have a lot of small bills. Snack shack also takes credit cards. The snorkeling was decent and safe, but you can see more fish at Playa Lagun. It was a quiet day when we went but I’m sure it gets crowded, loud, and busy when the cruise ship passengers come or if a tour brings a lot of people to the beach. It was a pleasant day and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a beach that you can just relax at.

Paradise. That's all there is to say about this beach. Absolutely stunning water and views of the cliffs and cactus. You can walk right into the ocean (as opposed to stairs or ladders at other beaches). Come early for a $3 beach chair, shade is at a premium and needed if you're planning on staying for a few hours. Everything is cash only including food/drinks. I did use a card for the entrance fee. This is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
