The trip was quite enjoyable, we visited the flowers garden (very very beautiful with a friendly guide), the Gran Piedra (wonderful view) and a lady with a great mood on top of the stone, the coffee farm (quite nice), the dinosaurs park (a bit wierd, but ok), the Baconao Lake (quite honestly, very lame, what is worth are the crocodiles and the flamingos), a very awful beach (never mind), the aquarium is under restoration due to Sandy hurricane, but the dolphins are awesome.
The bad quote is about our guide who stole 20 CUC´s from our wallet meanwhile we were taking a bath at the lousy beach (can you believe it?)
He was the driver of the Jeep, he almost ruined a perfect day for us.
He was from Ecocubatur we booked it a Cubatur,..., not much to say, there are bad people all over the world..., please watch your belonging at all time if you book a trip over there.

The Valle de la Prehistoria park is a fun place to bring children. The park is well maintained by friendly staff. There is a cafe on site.
The nearby Museo Nacional del Transporte is not very interesting. You will see more old cars while standing on any Cuban street corner for 10 minutes. The one exception to this being the tiny Maya Cuba convertible.

I had this opportunity to have my vacation in the park. This is one amazing part of Cuba combining the mountain and ocean. First time I could watch the migration of the red crabs from the forest to the ocean to lay their eggs there.

I didn't expect to find this in Cuba! Very interesting park and the guide didn't speak a lot of English but she did a very good job telling us about the prehistoric eras.

Baconao Park is definitely one the best choices we made in Cuba. A large extension of land patched with attractions and tropical beaches (not the best in Cuba though) it has a lot to offer to everyone wanting to know what the Caribbean is all about. Lot of tropical sun to get really tanned, green open spaces, fresh unpolluted air and even an old classic cars museum. La Gran Piedra offers astonishing panoramic views and lush, exotic vegetation. Once at the top of the humongous rock it can rain under your feet!

Lovely drive out of Santiago thru the park to visit the Granjita Siboney - where the Revolution was "born". We were amazed at how many trees were blown down by Hurricane "Sandy". All along the roadside are the graves of the revloutionaries who were killed after the revolution went wrong and the rebels headed back from Santiago. It is very well done indeed. Che's Granjita Siboney is a must do spot to visit. Very tranquil. The bullet riddled front wall of the villa shows you that the army of the day did not think much of the revolution! You see Che's car and memorabilia from the embryonic revloution. Quite touching. Whole trip made for a nice morning.

This prehistoric park is more for Cuban children than for tourists, but is certainly worth visiting and good fun.
Jam packed with giant models of dinosaurs, as well as prehistoric man, don't get too caught up about the different time periods as it's not really designed to give an accurate historical time-line...it's some fun models which kids can have some fun with.
You can walk round the park in an hour at a clip, or allow a couple of hours to spend more time and have some fun.
Unleash your inner big kid and enjoy yourself.

Hola, no cuesta nada la entrada, buen viaje

I was there in 2008, it was 1 CUC, and 1 CUC of you wanted to take photos. You got to walk freely around and see these prehistoric animals in a beautiful landscape.
