This is one of the most iconic churches in Camaguey. Ask for the visit to the Catacumbas. The temple itself is a gem of the colonial religious architecture

Impressive colonial church dating from 1748. Attached to it is a convent. Gold plated altar with a statue of the Virgin Mary.

This is a wonderful church. If you can find the church director he will give you a brief tour of the grounds and the catacombs under the alter (for a donation). There are really neat relics including bones in a tomb. The grounds have lots...More

It wasn't open when we passed by in the afternoon but on our return we were able to take a peek inside. Nice to have a look inside.

Camaguey is worth visting for its art and culture as well as its many churches. I think it is called the "city of churches."

When going through the centre of Camagüey, take a few minutes to look inside this church. Not too ostentateous, some imposing statues and carvings.

Located at Plaza de los Trabajadores, it is Camagüey’s most distinguished church and at one point the largest in Cuba. A parishioner inside the church tried to explain to me its history — a chapel was built here in 1601 and some kind of miraculous...More
