The big, big reason to go to this beach is that it is away from the Playa Santa Lucia Hotels and the Cuban Campesmo Housing. Hard to get too. Only bye car or maybe, a horse carriage from Santa Lucia. It sits on the east...More

We had gone here for 1 day with some friends. We did a BBQ on the beach. There was some locals there as well and we had a great time as well. Love the beach better than the one we stayed at.

Took a horse and buggy and it's about a 30-40 minute ride. Awesome for swimming and snorkeling. Very quiet and relaxing. Had lunch at local house. We got horse and buggy and lobster lunch for $20!

Too many vendors and the Cuban do not pick up their garbage on the beach. It cost 15 cuc one way to go there on horse drawn buggy.

They try to entertain you, but the meal is over-rated. Cheaper lobster & rice pudding, without raisins even, for dessert! Take your own toilet paper, as none provided.

However, the sand was beautiful, and the people working the beachside bars were fun. I walked to several and enjoyed a cold beer with the locals. We did have a good meal, but I dont remember the name of the resturant. ( sorry!)

Bicycled to the beach for 10ish km and it was really worth it! Spent the whole afternoon there and the resto on the beach was delicious!

Hurricane? Everything seemed to be back in business, the restaurant and hotels are fine. We did see a piece off road that had washed away connecting the hotel area with Coco Beach, but not the main roads, this was off the... More

Camaguey airport is nearest to Club amigo. The airport in Havana is far away, it may take half a day to get to Playa santa lucia by car from havana.

exchange rate in Caya Coco Cuba (2 Replies)
can anybody tell me what the exchange rate is around cause were heading down Aug 8th and just curious how much were gonna get ripped off and budget accordingly. also think its better to change our money at the airport as opposed to the hotel, right?
