This is a wonderful place to look at (and if you are so inclined) buy local Cuban Art. Some really wonderful pieces, varied styles was there are numerous artists. Highly recommend stopping in and if you buy art here it is a great way to support the Cuban people.

This workshop is right off of Plaza de la Catedral. And that surprised me because the work for the most part is not "touristy". It is a working studio, many of the artists are present and working in the the large studio. Their work is on display and for sale and it is worth taking a half hour or so to look through the different artists work. The styles are very varied and you may like one more than another, but there is a lot to appreciate.
There is also a small exhibition space.

This is a large workshop, hosting a variety of artists. The printmaking is diverse - just as the artists. If you are looking to buy prints, this is an excellent place to do it - and then to meet the artists. I went back twice to be able to make my way through the stacks of prints. Length of your visit will depend on your intent - take a quick peek at the workshop, or stay and look through the art.

So much beautiful art, so little time! The workshop is a very busy place in Oldtown Havana and lots of tourists are coming in to look, perchance to buy. The artists are happy to talk about the process of printmaking and show you their work. I am so thrilled that we went inside and perused the art, for now as I write this review, I can look up to my family room wall and enjoy Cuba all over again.

Not much to say about this, if you go to the cathedral you can stop by for ten minutes, But it is nothing I would reccomend going for. We ate right on that street twice. Ok.

I stumbled upon this place during my first trip Havana last year but i couldn't buy any because I didn't carry enough cash. This time I went back to buy art. There are artists constantly working and they are all willing to talk to you and show you their art. Different styles, all unique and experimental. Front of the studio is a gallery. I bought a few pieces that I loved, all on paper so didn't need the certificate to take them back home. The pieces I liked from the previous trip weren't there anymore, and one piece that i liked on day 1 of my trip wasn't there when i went back on day 2. If you see something you like, buy it!

We were here last year and purchased a couple of Julio Cesar Pena Peralta pieces. We decided to go see him again and we were not disappointed! He had some new artwork and we were happy to buy another to add to our collection. If you like Day of the Dead art he has great pieces. Of course, there are many other artist there as well and you can see them in action. If you love Cuban art - come here and support the local artist!

At the far end of El Callejon del Chorro by the Cathedral Square lies this Experimental Art Workshop where visitors have the possibility of learning about printmaking techniques. This artists’ studio was established by Che Guevara more than 40 years ago in order to promote an art current that had been set up by the Spanish in the late 1800s. The gallery exhibits prints from over 40 artists who are fully employed there.

It’s at the end of a cul-de-sac off Plaza de la Catedral, which has at least eight restaurants. You will be bugged by hustlers and beggars, but ignore them and check out this place. Cutting edge Cuban graphic design. ‘Taller’ means ‘workshop’ and there Cuban artists creating right in front of you. Some retail, but that’s not the point.

Our tour guide brought us to this venue during our visit of to Old Havana. It was off of the main squares. If you are not with a guide you'll probably never find it. It is free and you and watch different artists at work in a large studio. It was fun to watch them work and view there pieces that were on display for sale. I would highly recommend visiting the studio. Our group loved it. It takes about 20 minutes.
