About
Havana Memories founder, Roly, besides a former Physicist is a professional photographer and works under his private photographer license since 1995. When tourism increased and our Government opened the licenses for private drivers, he designed and named his product as Havana Memories consisting in taking clients to Havana from Varadero and other locations for a tour with photo shooting in an American car. He worked alone during long time, but due to the satisfaction of his clients he began to appear in TripAdvisor and the number of requests started to increase and then he decided to choose a couple of colleagues trying to guarantee a good service for the potential customers that reached him. By now Roly works with 4 very demandingly chosen photographer-guides and several professional drivers. So, we offer customized photo tours from Varadero and Havana with highly educated guide-photographers with deep insight into Cuban culture, nature and history.

Our guide, George from Havana Memories, was energetic and eager to help us learn about Cuba. George responded to all our questions and customized our time to ensure we had authentic experiences – such as local grocery markets, etc. (George is fluent in English, so conversation flowed easily.) He arranged beautiful classic cars for our time together, with friendly drivers who kept impeccable care of their vehicles. By the way, I hesitate to call this a “tour” as George was so reactive to our desires, that it felt like we were hanging out with a very knowledgeable, entertaining friend and having great conversations as we enjoyed our time seeing the city together. I believe I walked away with a deeper appreciation of the history and culture of Havana because of him. We purchased the photo package and received great shots. George also gave us tips for the time we were spending on our own and directed us to fantastic private restaurants we otherwise would not have found. All around, he was incredibly helpful and enthusiastic. George is a lot of fun, and we felt lucky to have him as our guide!

Thanks for your feedback. We enjoy to do this job and share our vision of Cuba. We hope the nightmare of this epidemic falls behind so we can go again walking Cuban streets with curious visitors who ask many questions.

I checked in to my hotel and from the minute I got there the first thing is that the hotel is beautiful and the staff are all so helpful plus I met Johnny and he was so sweet.
The lady's at the front desk were pleasant and very helpful my room was clean and cozy, and the fifth floor was so quite.Arianne from customer service was so nice and they all made my stay pleasure I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit havanna Cuba and don't worry about been too far from the town because it's just a quick ten minutes or so on the havanna bus tour plus you pay one price to ride it all day.

We have travelled the world and experienced many guides.

Rarely do you find guides with the passion to deepen their knowledge of their history, culture and economy so that they can share this knowledge with you in a clear, concise and engaging way.

We had a superb tour guide in David. His mastery of his subject and his commitment to excellence held our attention fully for the day.

We can’t recommend him highly enough.

Our trip to Cuba was outstanding! Havana Memories set up the trip with our travel agent Beth Hill and it could not have been better. Roly and his team from Havana Memories did not disappoint. Our first night David and our driver took us out to a fabulous meal at Buenaventura and then on to front row seats for the show at the Tropicana. The show was spectacular. The next morning David and driver picked us up from our casa and we toured Havana. David was extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience unforgettable. For any lovers of 1950's American automobiles Cuba is a must visit location. The next morning David again set off with us to Vinales and a visit to a tobacco farm and to see the caves. Again we stayed at a casa overnight and headed back to Havana the next day. Spending four days with David as our interpreter, guide and photographer made us want to take him home with us! Needless to say, we can't wait to go back. The Cuban people were so welcoming and happy to have us there, it could not have been better.

Made arrangements thru Roly at Havana memories for a day tour of Havana. Effortless to arrange and our guide George and driver Roberto were waiting on schedule. A pristine Classic Bel-air picked us up and we were on the way. Our car inside and out was beautiful. This was our 4th tour to Havana and George was able to show us new discoveries we had not seen before. Details and facts about Havana that we had never known about. As a bonus we had George fill up an SD camera card with over 150 images of our tour.

Search on trip advisor for Havana memories and link to web site. If you are lucky, George will be available !

My family traveled to Varadero, Cuba for a week and were looking to spend a day in Havana. We hired a private van at a reasonable price to take us to Havana, as well as a professional tour guide/photographer, Yosel Vazquez. Yosel was extraordinary, in that his perfect English, extensive knowledge of Cuban history, and endless connections with other Cubans helped us thoroughly enjoy our day in Havana. Yosel made excellent recommendations such as which sights to see and which attractions to visit, and we saw much more of Havana than we would have on a bus tour. Having a private van allowed us to stop whenever and wherever we requested for however long we desired, and we learned so much more about Cuba in the process. Yosel also offers a "photo-tour" service, that being that he takes wonderful photos of the group throughout the day with a professional camera and sells the photos, along with Cuban music, videos, and much more on a disc that is a fabulous souvenir from a great trip! Yosel offers custom trips of all sorts and will meet your needs. We highly recommend Yosel Vazquez's photo-tour, and would not travel in Cuba any other way!

My family of four visited Memories, Veredero Cuba on May 23 to 30th. In this time we booked 3 tours with Yosel Vazques. We wanted to go to Havana, Matanzas and a time for snorkeling. We were greeted by Yosel and his driver in an vintage car. Each tour was done on a different day. We ate in local restaurants and visited the cities. Yosel is an English and history Professor. His English is beyond good. His manners were impeccable and he was a lot of fun. He explained and taught us all we wanted to know and then some. It was a very educational and unforgettable trip. To boot he took all the pictures and gave them to us on a disk. Yosel is an incredible guide. This was the experience of a lifetime for us. I just hope we get to go again and have Yosel as our guide and friend. Thank you Yosel, I would recommend him to everyone.

I did a lot of research before booking my trip to make sure that I was finding a tour company that could provide interesting and informed guides that would do more than recant what I could read in a book myself. Duramis (our guide) and Michael (our driver) made our trip really special by thoughtfully planning our 2 day tour in Havana. I had come with a long list of things I wanted to see and Duramis made sure we got to all of it without feeling rushed. Duramis is a great English speaker and story teller with a good sense of humor that told us many memorable stories, from Che Guevara's cigar preferences to Ernest Hemingway's quirks. By the end of the tour, Duramis really felt like family.

Michael's car is an impeccably kept vintage Chevy that is hands down the most meticulously maintained car we saw or rode in Cuba (and we took many many cabs). In fact, his car was chosen to be a part of the Chanel fashion show that took place in Havana last year because of its mint condition. Michael is a great driver and was always early. After having him take us around in Havana, we also arranged for him to take us to and from Vinales (about 2.5 hours away). The day we left Vinales he came to pick us up at 7am, which meant he had to leave his house (an hour east of Havana) at 3am to do so. We felt really grateful that he would bend over backwards to accommodate us. I wish we knew more Spanish so we could have gotten to know him better.

If you're going to Havana, don't hesitate to book your tour through Havana Memories, and ask for Duramis and Michael! For reference, we were traveling as a family of 4 (mom, dad and 2 kids both in their mid 20s).

Our family organized a day tour in and around Havana with Jorge Niuver Sanchez (email hevemiuver@nauta.cu). Jorge was prompt meeting us, professional and very personable. His English was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and kind about answering any of our questions about Cuba's history and living in Cuba today. We came with some sight suggestions, and Jorge added some recommendations, and it turned out to be a very memorable day. He organized for us to see a tobacco factory. We saw interesting neighborhoods and sights; i.e. the Revolutionary Square, Hemingway's House, the Bacardi Building, Miramar, and he took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch. He had lots and lots of interesting facts and information.Jorge has a wonderful personality, it was like spending the day with a very knowledgeable and kind friend. Booking the tour was easy and very well priced. The day we spent touring with Jorge was definitely a highlight of our trip. Thank you!!!

My family came to Havana with the Fathom Adonia Cruise Ship. I contacted George so we could get to see everything we wanted in our short time there. I am so thrilled that we did!

George is the nicest person and was an excellent guide of the city. He really knows everything about everything and we also loved hearing his perspective as a local who grew up in Cuba.
George and his driver toured us all around the city in an old Ford car - Plaza de la Revolucion, the Cigar Factory, Ernest Hemingways home, the place where Ernest Hemingway was inspired to write The Old Man and the Sea, the old Bacardi Office in Old Havana, Miramar neighborhood and the embassies etc. The day was extremely full, informative and fun, it could not have been any better!

I would absolutely recommend touring with George to anyone spending any time in the city. Thank you so much for making our short time in Havana so great!
