You can see this on the hillside from the other side of the water - big and impressive looking out over the city and the water. If you go to see him then go early - we went early in the morning and there was...More

Must see from a perspective standpoint! It was made by a woman, so it indeed was a work of art predating equal treatment of men and women.

This trip is 10 cents on the ferry and an easy walk up to see the Jesus statue and a nice respite from the hussle of Havana

Pretty impressive statue, but the view of the city is worth the ride up to it. One of the sights you can see from the cruise ship and be able to get up close to it.

We saw this by day when entering the harbor by ship and at night when it's lit up. You can get get closer by taxi passing under the harbor.

I would not bother to take the ferry. Instead I would hire a cab. Avoid the nearby restaurant, Dona Carmella's.

Thoughts on our Havana itinerary? (12 Replies)
Hi Cuba experts! I wanted to run my first attempt at putting together an itinerary for Havana. We are there Monday to Monday (with one member of our group arriving Tuesday afternoon). We have a driver for Tuesday through Saturday and plan to do a Vinales day trip on Thursday. We are staying at a Casa in Vedado and our party is comprised of two grandparents (in their 70s with some mobility issues), 4 adults in their 20s-40s, and 2 littles (ages 2 and 4 and both are pretty chill and good...More

I just got back from Havana a few days ago. Just a few suggestions: The Fabrica de Arte Cubano is 18+ so the kids wouldn't be able to go. It opens at 8pm and it gets more crowded (and younger) the later it gets. Some other restaurants to consider: La Paila is great for grilled meats and has a nice outdoor vibe and nice for kids too. And I recommend Chachacha on the edge of Havana Vieja but you probably need a reservation. We were amazed how crowded the more popular restaurants are --...More
