It was pretty much a park with a lake not many actvities but there was a stand with monitors and pina coladas to die for!

This park was really nice, driving down to it was magical. There are trees that are really old. The place is very preserved. There is a river at the bottom that is a little poluted but it did not take away from the beauty of...More

Beautiful lush forest by the river, but we didn't go in all the way - too many remains of dead birds and cats. Also our guide was scared to go in... What make a cool contrast is these colorful 50's cars on the background of...More

Well worth a visit! Lovely managed gardens next to main river in Havana. Great place to eat and drink. The cocktails are very special as you get to choose how much rum you put in yourself!

as part of the old car tour we where brought here to sample the Pina Colada as we were told they are the finest in Cuba, yes they are. Your drinks are served without alcohol just their own unique blend, then the bottle of rum...More

Unfortunately like so much of Cuba litter is strewn everywhere. However this is not the worst thing here, santera followers sacrifice animals and birds here leaving vultures to clear up the horror. Such a cruel belief read up on it to see. Could be nice...More

Went to this small forrest/park as part of our old car tour. At first the place looks amazing ... huge old trees covered in a type of vine with a lazy river running through it.. so peaceful... then you realise it is used for animal...More

This is a beautiful park in Havana. It is visited by ordinary people, wedding parties, tourists and religious sects (there is apparently a sect that kills chickens as part of one of their religious ceremonies). At one end of the park is a restaurant and...More

Both times I've been here, I've been dismayed by trash on the ground. Many people seem to enjoy this otherwise lovely park by the water; they need some garbage cans and government workers to tidy it up.

Parque Almendares - Dinosaurs (5 Replies)
Hi, We are in Havana for a week and somehow this appeals to me to check out. We are staying at Parque Central, any suggestions on the best way to get there and how much we can expect to pay for the entry fee? Thanks.

Best way to get there? By Taxi, entrance fee is quite minimal 1 -2 CUC per person if I remember well.

Parque Almendares Apartment Rental (3 Replies)
I found a lovely apartment on Airbnb and from the review it seems to be in the Parque Almendares? Is this a good location. We are a middle aged couple seeking a quiet place to relax after a day of touring. Any advise is appreciated.

The Parque Almendares is a park - an undeveloped area along the river valley. The park is on the west side of the river, and doesn't have any houses "in" it. Is the casa you are looking at close ? (Do you have the address ?) Really, either side of the river valley is a bit out of the way. How will you be getting around Havana ? Also, if it is on the west side of the river, I don't think that is a particularly good area - though not particularly bad either.
