As a cigar smoker I really enjoyed my tour of this Cigar factory. My wife who doesn't appreciate cigars enjoyed the tour and found the process of cigar making very complex and interesting. Would do the tour again just for the smell of tobacco.

My wife took me to Cuba for us to celebrate my 50th birthday (I’m a very lucky guy). On the day we travelled to Havana in one of their many classic 50’s American cars (better than a bus and a great experience). We had our own travel guide (Alex) who was superb. Being a native of Havana he was a wealth of knowledge and possessed a warm passion for his home city. During the day, learning my passion for cigars, he took us to La Corona cigar factory and knowing many of the staff we were treated to a truly VIP visit. During the visit we were shown the entire process from leaf selection and batching to visiting the men and women at there work stations making the various sizes and types of cigar. Once the staff learned that it was my special day they were keen to present me with some of their wares and I left with some very special cigars indeed made specifically for me. For anyone interested in seeing how these superb cigars are made or for those who enjoy smoking them, this is a must visit location in Havana. A truly wonderful place and one well worth visiting. We paid 10 CUC each for entry, which was easily worth the money. If cigars are your passion, this is a must for your bucket list! 10/10!

Enjoyed a cuban coffee while selecting our cigars. Do not purchase the ones in the box - they're old. Rather purchase the singles as those are always fresh.

I'd give this a higher rating but it just doesn't rate a five. The tour is very informative and if you are a cigar nut like me this tour is a must. To see the actual production of cigars and the information given by the guide was great. There are pretty tight controls in place and visitors are not allowed to photograph the inner workings of the plant. The workers are pleasant and the guide and interpreter were very friendly. After the factory tour ends you get a very short time in the retail store next door and the prices are reasonable but not fantastic. There will be plenty of street hawkers trying to sell you "their" cigars as you walk tot he retail shop, even in Cuba fakes are common. I spent a bit more than I intended but I now have a nice stock pile of "Cuban Cigars" in my humidor to hold me over.

Very well run place (could use a faster / quieter coffee grinder ) and pride is shown here. The cigar professor I'll call him as they are university schooled on how to roll will explain the different layers to each cigar. Each cigar has a different blend from different leaves on the plant. Top leaves being high nicotine level bottom leaves stretchy and leaves inbetween for taste aroma flavour. The master roller takes pride in his work and it shows.
