Lovely little shop and cafe tucked away off plaza vieja.
Some amazing art pieces all from recycled material, we bought a beautiful wooden horse made from recycled windows, a lovely cuban memento.
The staff are really friendly and helpful too

Piscolabis is a must-visit stop for anyone (foreign or local – with disposable income!) touring Habana Vieja or living in Havana. Conveniently located on the main pedestrian thoroughfare (San Ignacio), leading South from the aesthetically restored and scenic Plaza de la Catedral, just a few metres away, this small oasis offers a welcome and unique relief from the numerous shops/holes-in-the-wall in Old Havana, with their somewhat repetitive displays of revolutionarily correct and sometimes tacky, even if cheap, souvenirs. It is a hassle-free display and sales outlet, in a stylish contemporary and well-lit ambiance, complete with a mini coffee bar, for the innovative creations of some of Havana's many talented designers, artists and artisans, in terms of essentially up-market objets d'art, articles for home decoration, clothing, personal gear and accessories, etc. Piscolabis lives up to its name, which may be translated as a tempting snack! For a foretaste, why not visit: www.piscolabishabana.com?

This is such a nice place to visit! In my opinion it is the most contemporary, inspiring shop I have seen during my month in Cuba. Whether is comes to jewellery, glassworks or home decorations it has a twist that takes you by surprise. Everything comes in good quality with a fair price.
Also go if you are not in a shopping mood (you'll be seduced by all the great products that are irresistible making it impossible to leave empty handed...) it is a light, quiet and clear place, making it the perfect hangout to just sit back, relax while sipping from a delicious coffee!

Piscolabis is a shop I always stop at in la Habana. I've bought presents for many family members and friends, and several beautiful "ribboned" guayaberas,

I believe everything in the shop is hand-made in Cuba, and I can virtually guarantee it's the most interesting place to shop in Havana.

I like to shop for local crafts and art where ever I travel, and for me, this was by far the best place to shop in Havana.

I bought a lovely wooden bowl, but there were several other items here that temped me, too. I think it had a good mix of contemporary and traditional design. Good prices, too.

I think this would be a must stop place for anyone looking for Cuban designed crafts.

Piscolabis is one of those places in Havana that represents modern elements of Cuba while maintaining ties to the Cuban culture. When you walk in you feel the modern, upscale vibe, one that would be at home in any N American or European city, but ultimately as you settle in you feel rooted in a hip and refreshed take on Havana culture and arts.

It's a creative concept and space with creative, hand-crafted and quality-oriented merchandise and friendly staff.

Definitely a refreshing change from the typical touristy brick-a-brack everywhere else; if you want something different and nicer to take home from your Havana trip, this is definitely a place to check out.

I wanted to get some mementos from Cuba - not cigars or rum. This gem of a store sells Cuban made art and ceramics and various gift items. My husband and I were walking and had some trouble finding the store. When we got there they were closed! However they opened the door and said it was the first time in three years they closed. They were restocking and doing some housekeeping. When. I explained how we had been looking for them and we were leaving the next day they invited us in and apologized for the disorganized appearance. The owners are delightful. We chatted for awhile and I bought several ceramic dishes. I highly recommend visiting this shop in Havana.

This place is so beautifully curated. And, sometimes, you get to meet the artists whose work is displayed. This was our case when we visited in November 2017. I wish I could have shipped so much of this stuff home with me. This is definitely a place to keep your eye on@\

This small artists' cooperative packs a big punch and is THE place to go when you've bought your fill of typical tourist gifts. The handcrafted pottery, art objects, pillows, stationery and you name it are far closer to what you'd find in NY at MoMA or the Guggenheim than to the items in the most shops in this section of Old Havana. A lovely place to visit if you need a reminder that there are artists and artisans flourishing in Cuba RIGHT NOW, with modern ideas and sensibilities. And there's a little coffee bar. Don't miss it.
