The cathedral is central to Havana is is actively used today. Many people here worshiping. Beautiful interior but dark. Worth a stop to see religion is alive and well in Havana.

I'm not religious but I love the architecture of this place. It is a great treat and miracle that this place is still intact even in a communist country. Respect to the Cuban people for it.

It is a CUC or two to enter. They have wraps to cover up if they deem your shorts or shirt to be too short. Pretty church and beautiful artwork. For another CUC you can climb the bell tower and get a superb view.

We were impressed by the simple beauty of this historic site. The stations are decorated with paintings that are worth your time. A very special... More

While cathedral's are often similar this one has a simplicity that would make me visit again. Inside is relatively low key for a Catholic cathedral but this gives it space from the busy square outside. The fact that no charge is levied, you can donate, illustrates the real priorities of the Church in this country.

It has been refurbished because of his visit. The best part is that there is a secret to the cathedral. When we went through, the day was extremely hot and air-conditioning scarce. If you go up the left aisle of the cathedral and continue straightforward, you will go into a smaller chapel which is air-conditioned. There is not much to... More

This building looks good, and the interior smart, but its not really that special. There is little to do here apart from admire the façade.

this cathedral is in the main square in Old Havana. It is not as lavish as the cathedrals we know in Europe which is probably due to the poverty within Cuba
