I booked a transfer from the airport to the hotel in Havana, and it couldn’t be better: it took almost two hours for the suitcases to appear on the tape, but there was one person waiting for the departure gate anyway. The treatment was magnificent, and the transfer was in a car in good condition, with a polite and responsible driver. More than recommended.

Umbrella travel is a great company to use when you are planning to book your vacations. Very responsive if you have any questions, reliable company. I use them to book my hotel and trasportation to go to Cuba and I will use them in the future for vacay.

Umbrella travel is an amazing agency It was very fast and easy to use. This was my first time and I was skeptical at first but everything went through great fast and easy. And if you have any questions they get back to you ASAP will book again with them!

Me and my partner travelled to Havana Cuba and used this company for a transfer to the hotel. I cannot comment this company enough as our flight was delayed plus our luggage was lost, so we were stuck in the airport for 4 hours until we got all the relevant paper work needed. At this point it was after midnight and thinking the worst, we came out of the arrivals terminal and there he was sitting by himself waiting patiently. I cannot explain how good it was to find our driver there. *****

The reservation through the Umbrella Travel page was quite easy and friendly. There was good communication with the executives.
I asked them for help renting transportation from my house to the hotel but they did not have availability... although they were quite friendly.
Just mention that the Hotel I booked (Melía Marina Varadero) offers it as 5 stars and however it does NOT meet the standards of a Hotel of this category so they should not charge it as such... they should compensate us for offering and charging us for a service that they don't give
Here is the review I made of my stay at the Meliá Marina Varadero Hotel in April 2024.
"It is not a 5-star hotel, they should not charge as if they provided 5-star services... if they cannot provide the service that corresponds to that category then lower the stars and charge according to what they can offer.
Structurally it is deteriorated, there was a hole in the lobby ceiling. The buffet table was very poorly supplied, the breakfast was poor, there was no butter, honey or syrup, etc. .. Little diversity in the food in general and the preparation is very basic and with little flavor. We went to theme restaurants and it wasn't a 5-star offer either. I only rescue the fruits that, despite having little variety, were good (bomb fruit, guava and pineapple)
The rooms are large but the beds are mismatched, with broken legs, the towels were never changed in the 4 days we were there. We had to insist several times each day for them to replenish the water and toilet paper. The waitress hardly even cleaned.
To highlight the work of the entertainment group (El Yuti, Wendy and Virgen), they were very friendly, professional and affectionate... we had a great time with them on the beach and in the pool.
The nightly shows were also entertaining."

Gracias por el review. Nos alegra que nuestra parte haya sido satisfactoria en su proceso de reservas. Lamentablemente lso proveedorfes locales con los que trabajamos no siemrpe brindan servicios de recogida en direcciones particulares. Los traslados en mayoría se ejecutan entre hoteles y aeropuertos.
Respecto al hotel, es cierto que muchos hoteles en Cuba no cumplen con las categorías que dicen tener. Y especialmente en los ultimos años confrontan problemas de mantenimiento e insumos. negarlo no sería honesto. Saludos y gracias nuevamente por dejarnos su experiencia.

We requested an alternate pick up time than suggested and it was not a problem at all. Every email was responded to very quickly and they also responded via WhatsApp as requested. Pricing was very good . Bus was new and comfortable. Highly suggest booking with Umbrella Travel.

The bus and the service received from the driver and guide were excellent. But punctuality leaves a lot to be desired, if you need a timed transfer this is not your option. On one of the routes, Havana Cayo Santamaria, we waited 45 minutes and the return journey 1.5 hours from the indicated time.

Umbrella as an intermediary carried out its work to acquire rooms and transportation to the hotel. Now the Meliá Varadero hotel is very far from 5 stars, the humidity and heat in the rooms and restaurants make you sweat all the time and so do its cooks. All the hotel workers work hard at their jobs and are very attentive, but the quality of the food is terrible where there are no lobsters, shrimp or beef, nothing is fried, just the breakfast omelettes after a long line. In conclusion, it is not worth spending so much money on a vacation at this hotel.

The worst company you can use for a vehicle rental. I waited 5 hours for a vehicle that was fully payed with 2 months in advance. There were also other people from Germany as well as France that waited to get their vehicle for over 7 hours. How on earth could you tell me that this is a good customer service? At the end they gave me a wreck for vehicle, with exhaust cracked and falling , dents all over, rubber coming off the doors, no pick up power. Charging the credit card was quick though!! I hope no one else has to go through the same troubles that me and other tourists went through.

Please note Umbrella Travel is an intermediary between you and the actual car rental company that delivered the car to you. Unfortunately, all travel agencies in Cuba operate in this manner as all car rental services are managed by the local state-owned companies. However, we do take responsibility when things go wrong and we highly urge our clients to contact us when in trouble and channel the compliant through us so we can intermediate and, when necessary, compensate our clients for the bad experience. By your tripadvisor user name we can only guess your reservation reference and name. So, please do contact us and we will surely follow up on your complaint and compensate for the inconveniences.
