One day we spent on the Playa del Este. We took a taxi for 15 CUC who leave us at one part of this long beach. It was nice weather and the beach was really nice and not crowded. There we have possibility to rent umbrellas and deckchair, but for us was hot send enough. In the vicinity there is... More

If you need to go to the beach and don't want to drive over 2 hours to go to Varadero -- than this will do! Its a no frills beach that gets the job done! Locals go and you should to! Plus they have a great restaurant nearby (don pepe's) for before or after sunbathing!

This beautiful beach was only about 30 minutes from the center of Havana. Such a great way to cool off and escape the heat and busy city . Beach had chair and umbrellas for rent.

We stayed in Guanabo over a night at a private house near the beach. It´s a small touristic town, nothing impressive, but the beach is nice. Good option if you are visiting Havana for a longer period.

The beach is exellent, clear blue water and white sand. You can ear omething on the sides and on the road where the cars park and drop the guest. It is stongly controlled by police who are viewing with specticals and entree check. You see many cuban families, there is a lot of live music. Bit takt care of pickpockets... More

Lovely secluded beach areas, 15 minutes drive from Havana. Get an old car as a taxi (max $15) and arrange for them to collect you too. Very little development around the beaches aside from the odd bar so bring anything that you may need with you Lovely white beaches to relax on, just what you need when you want a... More

Playas de Este is a wonderful long beach with good surf for body surfing. When we were there, a bit too rough to swim, but it was just after a storm. When calmer, it would be perfect. White sand, clean bottom, beach chairs. Lots of local people, and hardly any hitting on you to buy things, or at least not... More

Well worth staying here rather than Valedero as this is where the Cuban's party and you get interesting food and entertainment, not fully inclusive and tourist trash. Some great cheap Casa's and dinner for 4-6cuc. Italian influence and best pasta in Cuba.
