Beautiful

Beautiful caribbean beaches, in one word it is like paradise, Santa Maria, Guanabo, Bacuranao, just be careful with sand banks not far from coast.

At first sight this looks gorgeous but stay here for a couple of hours and your mere existence gets challenged by: 1- Non-stop vendors and I mean one every 30 seconds (hats, food, drink, message, magic show etc...) 2- Locals making #2 in the ocean in front of you 3- Locals bringing pots and pans and leaving dirty diapers everywhere... We spent a couple of days at various spots along the beach. It is fairly peaceful and relaxed, and quite clean. Local entrepreneurs offer drinks and can also arrange food from nearby restaurants. Great escape when you need a break from Havana.

This is a lovely beach, unfortunately the day we were there is was very windy and it was like being sandblasted. Would love to go back on a calmer day!

Just east of Havana and off the Via Blanca seaside road there are maybe 6 or 7 beaches and little seaside villages where Cubans from Havana go to in the summertime for sun and surf and sand. In the Winter though, is all for the turistas and there are Casas Particulares all over the place to accommodate them. I like... More

It wasn't too crowded the Saturday we went. Water was clean and perfect temperature at Santa Maria beach. Chair and umbrella for two cost 6 cucs, you can order drinks or snacks. so fun to see musicians strolling on the beach--we enjoyed dancing and singing

There are several beaches in the east side of Habana. The most beautiful one Santa María Beach. You can take a bus in central park that can take you there. And if you keep your ticket you don't have to pay again to go back to the Habana.

Having gone to both beaches on a short visit to Cuba we found the beach at Playa Estes to be the best for a day at a beach. The beach is about 30 minutes from Havana and we engaged a taxi for 20cuc both ways. The taxi waited for us for about an hour. We found the water to be... More

As noted, get in the line by the sign infront of hotel inglaterra for 5 CUC. Keep your pass to take back - you CANNOT taxi there in the morning and expect to get the bus back, saw ppl denied for this! Take it to the last top (santa maria) otherwise you will be frustrated by full buses going by... More
