Came by boat to Marina Hemingway from Key West. Entering the Marina may be tricky for Big Yachts but we had no problem on our 39' Charter Fishing Boat, Double Down. We stopped to clear customs and this process took awhile as three vessels including us arrived simultaneously. Customs sent a doctor on board first to check our temperature and... More

Was looking around the marina for a future visit by boat, very nice operation, friendly staff and good location. Seems very reasonably priced.

I was with a group of people who sailed from key west. We had 3 boats in our party. Customs check in was courteous and efficient. It took less than an hour for us to check in. Marina is run down but what do you expect? This is Cuba. That being said, they have convenience stores where you can buy... More

We brought 17 boats from Key West to Havana. The commodore took very good care of us, he was kind and accommodating to our group. The people walking around (not sure if they worked there) helped with cleaning our boats and helping with repairs, for a fair enough fee. The marina is very safe and secure. We will be back... More

Hemmingway is not like marinas we are used to but it is what we were told to expect. The officials were all very accommodating; many spoke passable English and those who didn't were good sports about spontaneous sign language. It was quite fun, actually. Yes, we had to do a lot of "gifting". The (took them all) , and then... More

A pleasant surprise as first time goers to Cuba. The staff very friendly and 24 hour security. Facilities a little run down but useful. Stores within walking distance, Havana a $25 cab ride.

If you're taking your yacht to Cuba, this is the nicest marina near Havana. It'll cost you about 12-20 CUC to get into Havana depending on exactly where you're going. Also, get out and check out the marina. There are some cheap eats spots where you can get a 1/2 chicken meal for 4 CUC and a beer for 1.50... More

This is a small fishing village where Hemingway used to hang out. There is even a monument to him. Otherwise, it was the only place in Cuba I found trash in the street and water. I would not go back and would not recommend for any bucket list.

No it is not a fancy South Florida marina. It needs repairs like every thing else in Cuba. But if friendly people, plenty of help and absolute security and safety for your boat is important. You will not be disappointed. The local area is also safe and interesting for getting to know the Cuban way of life
