We met Debbie at the port and she gave us directions to the golf cart shop. It's a quick walk and you're there! All of her employees really know their stuff, are more than helpful, and answer any questions you might need.

These golf carts are so easy to drive, have a key with a clasp (so you can attach to something if needed), and have nice straps to tie in all your bags. Don't worry about getting hot, as these have open windows in the front or you can close them if it gets too windy. They keep these carts looking new, very clean and no need for you to worry about having to charge or add gas. It's all included.

The staff gives you a map and shows you the North and South sides of Bonaire. It was nice to be able to get a good grasp of where you're headed! We stopped at 1,000 steps and snorkeled and then headed to the other side of the island for a quick lunch.

This is a great cruise excursion to book on your own, as you manage your own time. The only thing to be aware of is that Bonaire Cruisers can be solidly booked a year out or more! So, book as soon as you can, or you'll miss out on quite the adventure. We can't wait to go back and try it again! Thanks Debbie and Staff!

We definitely recommend that you rent one of these golf carts to explore the island. They are in perfect shape, keep up with regular traffic, have a roof for shade, and are very easy to operate. There is enough gas to go around the island 3 times (which you wouldn't do in a day anyway), so there's no fear of running out of gas. If you are on a cruise, book online. HOWEVER, if you are staying on the island, CALL to book because there is a different rate for cruise passengers. (Keep reading for the resolve) There was nothing on the website indicating this at the time we booked (3 months in advance), and no one from the company contacted us to rectify the situation. When we went to pick up the cart, the young man attending the shop explained the overcharge, and we were offered a second day for an additional $15 since he said he couldn't give us a refund. We were unable to use the cart for a second day, so we declined. We did not pursue this further with him because we could tell he did not have the authority to rectify the situation. The next day, I crafted an email to the company explaining what happened and requested a refund of the extra funds because they offer a full refund if cancelled 2 days in advance. Since the website didn't indicate a different price for non-cruise passengers, it was their obligation to contact us in advance to address this, and there was plenty of time to do so. Had we known, we would have cancelled ourselves and rebooked at the lower rate. They knew we were not cruise passengers because their shuttle was picking us up at our resort, and there were multiple emails back and forth to confirm all of our arrangements. To their credit, the company responded right away and refunded the extra charge promptly. I was just disappointed that I had to initiate this rather than someone from their company noticing it back in April or May.

Now, on to the experience - it was a blast, but I would recommend you choose ONLY the northern or southern route. We did both in one day, stopping for lunch in between, and it was A LOT. We had water with us, and it was still really hot and tiring. Luckily, we stopped for lunch at a hotel that had a pool right next to its outdoor eating area, and we were wearing swimsuits, so we jumped in the pool after lunch. Without that, I think we would have been in a problem. One or the other is fine; just accept that you can't see everything in one day. Maybe at another time of year it wouldn't be so hard, but doing the whole island in one day in July was too much for us.

Thank you for your review!!! Glad to hear that our son Dani tried to solve the problem. We where not on the island from may till mid june because of a surgery on my husbands foot. Sorry that i wasn’t alert enough to find out that you stayed in a resort. The price difference on cruise ship days is because we have to do courses to work with cruise ship passengers. We have to pay our membership to be able to have a tent at the cruiseport. We have to pay the tent rent for every day. And we also need employees to work for us on cruise ship days. As you could see on a non cruise ship day 1 person can run the business. 2 loops on 1 day is doable. And yes after you stay out a day in the sun you are tired because of all the beauty you have seen and the snorkeling. But it’s worth it. If you consider to come back try January till april. These are the coolest months with a lot breeze.. Kind regards Debbie Berkers

We rented a 2 person cart while we were in port since the cruise line offered limited excursions for people with mobility issues, and we prefer seeing what we want to see and spending as much time as we want. The golf cart addressed all of this. Since the actual carts are not kept right at the port, they called for a ride and picked us up at the port. Since we had a walker with us, they provided a cart with a basket on the back that we could lay the walker in so it was easy to access when needed. They provided a map and personally explained the different loops, sites to see, time required and answered any questions. The carts themselves were well maintained and in excellent condition.

Traveling this way we were able to see all the sites we wanted and spend as much or as little time as we wanted which you cannot do on the large guided tours. We were able to complete both loops which encompasses the entire island and still return to our ship in turn.

I highly recommend Bonaire Cruisers for those who prefer to see the sights but not have to deal with the large groups and being rushed from stop to stop.

This was our first trip to Bonaire. We had been to Aruba and Curacao before but never to this island. We are seasoned cruisers so we decided to venture out on our own and not are we glad we did!

We learned of Bonaire Cruisers through some friends and it was a terrific way to see the whole island. We had the flexibility to stop whenever we wanted, spend as much time as we needed and see anything we care to. We weren’t herded into buses and shipped to the next stop on a predetermined itinerary. And all of this freedom on a golf cart?! Yup you heard me right-a golf cart! We even rode it into town, parked it like a car and had lunch at a local place. We saw both the north side of the island and the 1000 steps and the south side with the salt flats and California lighthouse along with the slave huts.

The staff was terrific and super easy to deal with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a reservation. This is a very popular excursion option and although there are opportunities if someone doesn’t show up (they will only hold your reservation for 30 mins after your time) it’s beat to reserve ahead of time.

You definitely won’t be disappointed!

We were in Bonaire for the day via a cruise in November. Having been there once before and taken a snorkelling tour, we decided to rent a golf cart and cruise the island. It came highly recommended via Tripadpvisor (thank you for your reviews and info). We booked it well in advance and picked up our golf cart with no issues on the date of our arrival.

We were given 2 options for routes and took the shorter route which seemed to have more places to stop at and sightsee. It was an easy drive with cars quite used to the carts. We pulled over any time we wanted to see something closer which was often. Saw the salt mines, flamingoes, slave huts, parasailing lessons some very rocky beaches and Chinatown which was 1 grocery store and a restaurant haha. When we finished the route we continued onto the longer route but only for a short time as we found a beach, parked the cart and spent a couple of hours playing in the water and having lunch.

The only downside to the day was our golf cart was incredibly slow. We floored it but other carts were passing us by lol.

All in all, a fun and different way to explore Bonaire.

Thank you very much for your great 5 star review. Sorry to read that your cart was extremely slow. Next time come back to the office and we can change it or fix it. But glad to read that you had enough time to see a lot from our beautiful Bonaire. Stay safe and healthy. Hope to see you back someday. Kind regards Debbie

Spotted this online & booked immediately. It was a great way to see the island independently & thoroughly enjoyable. So much better than sitting on a bus. We saw the salt lakes & slave huts, pink flamingoes & wild donkeys & had a great snorkel at 1,000 steps. Great value for money & free wi-fi at Bonaire Cruisers site. On a deserted beach we watched a super performance as pelicans dived into the sea. Unless you’re caddying for Donald Trump, this was as much fun you could have on a golf buggy.

After seeing posts online from people who had previously spent a day with a golf cart from Bonaire Cruisers, I immediately knew it was something I wanted to try... and oh boy, I am so glad that we did!

I had contacted Bonaire Cruisers via email approximately 6 months before my planned visit to book a golf cart. As they are very popular, I would highly recommend this step so you aren't disappointed! I received a pleasant, informative and timely response back with plenty of information that left me feeling ready (and excited!) for this experience.

Upon arrival in Bonaire (via cruise ship for a port day), we easily found the Bonaire Cruiser tent setup by the port and then made the quick walk down the street to the Bonaire Cruisers headquarters. There we were taken through the paperwork and given an overview of the golf cart & the island (on a provided map) before being set loose on the island. Getting ready to go was a quick, easy and well organized process.

Since we had a full day on the island, we decided to do both the north and south loops. We started with the south loop first, where we took the time to stop for photos of notable locations along the way (the slave huts, the salt ponds). We also saw plenty of flamingos, other sea birds, and a number of donkeys, which made for more great photo ops! We then stopped at The Beach Hut for a little rest and some food & drink before we continued our journey into town and onto the north loop. The north loop was beautiful, with plenty of spots to stop for the most incredible views of the water, stone, and scenery. Similar to with the south loop, we just cruised around and stopped whenever we saw something beautiful... which was often! :-)

We made it back to the Bonaire Cruiser headquarters with about 45 minutes to spare before we had to return the golf cart. Dropping off the cart was such a breeze, just like picking it up!

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Bonaire. My experience with Bonaire Cruisers has been nothing short of excellent and I think it is likely you would have an excellent experience with them too!

Thank you Bonaire Cruisers!!

We rented the golfcart on a Saturday till Monday, it was brought to our hotel no extra charge! Very easy to rent and the people are very nice. It's recommended to use a creditcard for the deposit but also possible to give it cash. We did not have it in cash, but they did not mind to give us de cart already so that we could get the cash😊. The use of the cart was very simple and user friendly! We really had an amazing time on it, you wil need to refill the gas but it doens't use much so for a 3 day use we paid like 5 dollars to fill it up! Highly recommend it for a stay in Bonaire, you can see the whole island with the golfcart! They explain to you with a map of Bonaire how to go from one place to the other. Next time that we are in Bonaire we wil rent it again!

Needed more time with the directions and map. While in town the traffic was horrible and the people in vehicles especially the tour buses were so rude and kept honking at us to get out of the way. Made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable. Once on the open road it was fun and enjoyable. We would have loved to drive more around town but traffic didn't allow us to feel safe enough. We had to stop and get directions back to the rental office, the local person happened to be a social worker and was very accommodating and nice. So all in all it was good and bad but have to say it was more on the good side.

This was the best thing about our entire cruise! We thoroughly enjoyed the day with our golf cart. We were able to stop anywhere we wished, visited the salt flats, saw flamingo all around the island, viewed the very somber slave huts, stopped at a lovely local restaurant, etc. What a hoot! What a day! We would do it again without a moment of hesitation. Highly recommend!!!

A few specifics... Bring your driver's license ashore. Cruisers hold only two people. The cost was $100, plus a $100 refundable deposit when you return your cruiser. The most fun 100 bucks you'll spend on your trip.
