Hans and Mandy made this an exciting, informative and stress free adventure for us. We found them easily and they were incredibly gracious throughout the experience. The Twizy cars are a thrill to drive (these things have lots of pickup and can hit 80 kph) and Hans paired the top sites around the island with history humor and support for local businesses.
It's clear Hans is respected in the community as people would honk and wave to him everywhere we went. He kept us entertained and laughing the whole way through while making us feel very comfortable and welcome on the island. You can't beat this tour for the price and I would recommend everyone visiting Bonaire to reach out to Hans for this unique and thoughtfully crafted guided tour. You'll see the popular sites as well as some hidden gems all across the island and I guarantee you'll learn something new even if you've been to Bonaire before.

What a great experience with Mandy! She and her husband own Roadrunner Bonaire. We found them when we walked off the ship. There were about a dozen or so pop-ups just off the pier touting island tours, beach trips and the like. Most were on small buses or open air buses. We happen to walk by RoadRunner. She had pictures of an electric vehicle called a Twizy. She would lead us around the island while we drove to various scenic areas, the distillery in Rincon, a flamingo habitat and several others. This was such fun. As luck would have it, my wife and I were the only ones on the tour and had a great time with Mandy. Super personality and full of information related to the island. I know - I know —- the cruise ships tell you not to use private charters because they want you to pay double. This tour was completely safe and provided a more personal experience versus touring with 30 or more people from the ship. Highly recommend!

From the moment we booked the Twizy tour online, the communication from Hans and Mandy was extraordinary. Upon our arrival in Bonaire, it was easy to locate them among the multi-colored tents to the left of the cruise terminal. The tour began promptly with a quick trip to their home where we were educated on driving a Twizy (very simple!) and then "off we went!" to tour Bonaire. Our group consisted of some driving Twizy's and some on 3-wheel scooters - all adeptly led by Hans and Mandy. We made several stops for photos, sight-seeing, and refreshments during which they offered insights about Bonaire. Of course, we enjoyed driving the Twizy and loved Bonaire for it's quaintness, cleanliness, and beauty. We were similarly pleased by Hans and Mandy's organization, knowledge of the island, the pristine condition of their vehicles, and the effort they made to accommodate everyone's interests. Most of all, we were thoroughly impressed with Hans and Mandy's warm personalities and how they engaged with all of us....we were treated like friends to whom they were showing their beloved island instead of as customers. We've been on almost 40 cruises over the years and have participated in many, many excursions. I absolutely would rate this excursion as one of the most enjoyable we've done for all of the aforementioned reasons.

first of all I want to say we did not pre-book this excursion. we got off the ship and met Hans, his beautiful little girl (she's 2) and his wife. They explained the tour they had to offer using the Rykers and it sounded fun so my wife and I decided to go with them.
from the moment we left the port it took 3 minutes to get to the place where the Rykers were stored. Very nice facility! Hans went over all the features of the Ryker and then we were off on a tour. My wife and I each rode our own, even though my wife has no experience riding a motorcycle. The Rykers we so user friendly and fun to ride for anyone above the legal driving age.
I can't say enough about Hans and his family. during the tour Hans went above and beyond to show us everything Bonaire had to offer. With multiple stops around the country. going from one side of the country to another. it was such a great time on the tour. He was even letting all of us go a lot faster them most tour guides would let us go! Giving us the full experience of riding the machine.
at the the price of 120.00 each for my wife and I to ride these brand new machines for 3 hours on a guided tour and really ride the machines the way they were built to ride was super reasonably priced and I thought under priced but I wasn't complaining!!!!
but it didn't stop there!
after the 3 hour tour, Hans went above and beyond! took us to the beach in his company bus, loaned us snorkeling gear to use for free while were were at the beach! Then picked us up from the beach and took us back to the cruise ship at whatever time we wanted to go.
My wife and I had an amazing time! I don't write reviews for businesses unless they really deserved it! As a business owner myself I'm not easily impressed. I couldn't have been more impressed with the value of what we were able to do in one day.
thank you to Hans and his family for the hospitality and the amazing time we had in Bonaire.

We had email instructions detailing where the meeting point for this tour was:
“We will meet at the port at 3pm. There we will wait for you with a sign "Roadrunner" (colorful tour tents).
If you can't find us right away, you can ask at the port, everyone is very nice and friendly on Bonaire.”
There were two ships in port and we immediately spotted colorful tents by the other and much larger ship in port, so we headed over there. There was no sign of the Roadrunner folks, but we were early so we went across the street and got a drink. The waitress there confirmed that the Roadrunner folks did indeed meet there by the tents. However the meeting time approached and passed so we went back to the area outside and ship and walked around looking there. Unfortunate , we never did see any sign of our tour group. This was the first time in meeting perhaps as many as 100 private cruise excursions we failed to make an excursion!
I emailed the Roadrunner folks and heard back from them a few hours later. They insisted they were there right outside where we exited the cruise port and that they waited around for an extended time. Perhaps so, but I am not sure how we could have missed them. At least we had made any deposit for the tour, so there was no need to demand a refund. I would suggest they provide much clearer instructions for future guests to follow, including a map!

The Twizy tour this time with my family was just as great an experience as it was last time, when I went with my mother in 2018.
Hans first explained clearly how everything worked, my husband and I each drove our own Twizy and our 10-year-old son got in the back with me. We drove through Kralendijk towards the north side of Bonaire.
He told everything along the way and showed the most beautiful places. Our son found the first cave scary (dark) and Hans immediately adjusted the program, allowing us to skip the second cave. He did his best to tell and show as much about the island as possible, with humor. It was so varied, we gained a lot of impressions: bits of 'speeding', ancient history, protected nature, beautiful views, caves, a cactus distillery, tasting iguana soup, etc. Our son was even allowed to drive for a while, while Hans sat next to him to coach. Hans also rented out a very nice car, which we rented for the rest of our holiday after the tour. He took us, very hospitably, to the airport when returning the car.
It was great! You can see a large part of the island in a fantastic way in just a few hours. I recommend everyone to book this tour if you are in Bonaire!

We wanted to rent golf carts but they were sold out so we decided to do the Twizy tour instead. We are so glad we did! Mandy was a great guide and driving around the island in the twizy was a fun adventure. THRY are a little difficult to get in and out of, but definitely a great way to spend your day!

Amazing fun trip across the island made in a Renault Twizy behind guide Hans on the motorcycle. A lot seen and done in 3 hours. Coastline, 1000 steps, Goto lake, Rincon (restorant Posada), conversations with local people, Distillery and view from the southernmost hill, so view over the entire south west. Back at the location with Mandy also viewed beautiful guest house. Overall great day, great people. Highly recommended

Hubby and I did the van tour with Mandy, and it was awesome!! She took us to 1000 steps, the flamingo preserve, the distillery, slave quarters, etc. She gave a good amount of history, but a lot of ecological information (things I never knew about coral, sand and the color of the water). We were the only ones on the van, so it was really a private tour! Plus we would catch up with the Twizy folks and see what they were doing. It is hot in Bonaire, so the cool van was really appreciated. If you don't think you're up to driving a Twizy, I would totally recommend taking the van tour. Great price, great guides, and beautiful setting.

We cruised to Bonaire on Britannia. We got off the ship and walked along the harbour front and found Mandy who was offering Twizy tours. We had 2 vehicles and followed Mandy around the island on a tour. The vehicles were excellent and well maintained. Mandy was very informative, we stopped off at a few places and she gave us local information. The visit to the distillery was very good. I would highly recommend Roadrunner tours.

I would like to know how to book this for my wife and I. We will be in Bonaire March 6, 2017 on Carnival Pride. The hours in port are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., so I would like to be back on ship by 5:00 at the latest.

Trip advisor won't allow me yo post the website. Just google roadrunner bonaire, it is fantastic and Hans is awesome! You will have no problem being doney by 5pm. Have a great time!

These little cars look like a blast. How is the back seat size and air flow wise? We would be a husband and wife and am guessing I would be in the back seat as he drives. Thanks I much!
Written January 23, 2015
Its fair to say it's a little tight in the back but not too bad. I'm not the slimmest, so I moved the front seat forward to assist with access then my wife (who drove) slid the seat easily into place. Your legs go either side of the front seat. There is a breeze in the back but it was welcome as it was hot. It rained too but neither of us got wet.
My recommendation - go for it!
