This was an excellent day of discovering Bonaire. Hans was a very professional and nice guide, pointing out things of interest and making sure we all felt safe. I would definitely recommend a trip with him if you’re in to something a little different.

The guide hans was funny and knowledgeable and the tours were great. We did the caving and kayaking through the mangroves. Both times we were in small groups of 4 and 6 people respectively. Hans is very conscious of the environmental impacts of tourism and is careful not to disturb the areas he's showing. The tour through the mangroves included kayaking and a brief snorkeling trip through a channel but the real highlight was the cave trip. We saw 2 caves, one included wading through underwater pools. The descent took some nerves and good footwear but the experience was well worth it and probably the most memorable of our vacation to bonaire. Hans even dove into the underwater caves to illuminate some rock formations for us.
Definitely recommend for anybody who wants to go off the beaten track!

Hans was knowledgeable and helpful. He carefully guided our group into the caves and told us all about the formations and wildlife. The cave tour is challenging (using the rope to get down and back up) both trips were a great way to get in touch with nature and learn about ecosystems. Worth every penny

Cave tour with Hans in Sept 2022. My husband and friends and I absolutely loved this trip. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was amazing. The first 'wet' cave, you have to repel using a rope down about 30 feet to the bottom of the cave - no harness, helmet, pads - just you the rope and Hans, the guide. From there, we donned our snorkeling masks and entered the water. No actual swimming is involved - you're just slowly walking through the water and using the mask to check out how expansive the cave it underwater. Seriously cool experience. Second cave we just walked into. Lots of bats which were super cool. Overall, love this trip and really enjoyed our guide!!

Absolutely recommend going on a tour with Hans! We went on the kayaking tour as well as the caving tour and both times had an awesome experience. Hans made the tours fun and safe, while in the mean time trying to share a bit of his extensive knowledge of and love for nature. We made many happy memories, thank you again Hans!

Our family went on the cave tour with Hans. Hans is a very knowledgeable and experienced guide with a great sense of humour. It was a very unique experience, with climbing down a rope into the cave and snorkelling in the water. Sitting in the water in a dark cave waiting for the shrimps to come out was unsurprisingly a new and novel experience for us. Loved seeing the bats. Thank you Hans.

Just did the cave tour with my brother and it was amazing! Always wanted to do something like this and it was a great intro. I was worried about the climbing portion but it was pretty basic, small, and easy (coming from someone young who isn’t very physically active).

Our guide, Hans, was professional and easy to talk to. Helped us around the cave easily and pointed out a lot of interesting things and facts. Great guide!

This tour makes me want to do their climbing/repelling tour but sadly that’ll have to wait until my next visit.

I reached out to Hans to book a kayaking and caving tour because of his reputation and his commitment to the environment. When I notified him that my husband and I were arriving via a cruise ship he abruptly ended our conversation, refused to book us for a tour, and said "I don't work with cruise ships." We never book excursions through the cruise line, as we prefer to put our money into the hands of local business owners. To be refused service simply because our method of traveling to Bonaire is a cruise ship is just downright discriminatory. Best of luck to you, Outdoor Bonaire. With that type of attitude, you're going to need it!

On my web site I state very clearly that I do not wish to do any business with cruise ships in general. The reason for this , is their big negative impact (my personal opinion). I have been doing nature tours for over 18 years now (under and above water) and I do worry about the increase of cruise ships. specially the very big ones.

Hans is a Bonaire treasure. His passion for preserving and caring for the environment is admirable. Cruise ship passengers need not apply! He has an excellent sly sense of humor and a wealth of knowledge to share. We did both the kayak/snorkel excursion and cave adventure. So much fun to get off the beaten track and explore the land portion of the island. Both tours were unique experiences and proof you can have a great time learning something new.

My wife and I did two tours with Hans and Outdoor Bonaire. The first tour was a Kayak and snorkeling tour which was scheduled for two hours but was a while longer and we had no complaints about that! I think it lasted a little longer due to the fact that all members of our group were early so we got an early start. Hans was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and informative. It was easy to tell that he was well educated on, and passionate about his subjects. He did not just recite a memorized script as some do in many other places around the world, this man knew what he was talking about. He made an effort to tell us about every sight and sound that we encountered from the oysters attached to the mangrove roots to the crabs and birds in the trees. While snorkeling he pointed out the special type of jellyfish that live in the mangrove swamps which none of us would have recognized as such unless he had. The water was pretty clear and we were able to see many different kinds of fish hovering around the roots.
The next day we again went with Hans on a cave tour of two caves. The first one was a wet cave in which we climbed down into with a rope into the first level and then climbed down a short distance more to the wet section into crystal clear water. Hans instructed us on how to move through the cave without stirring up the silt and our lights illuminated beautiful caverns both above and below the water. We turned off our lights as Hans went under the water into adjacent caverns and illuminated them with his light while we observed with mask and snorkel.
The second cave was a dry one with many formations. Hans explained how each one was formed and how each cave was also part of the islands ecosystem.
These are two adventure trips well worth the time and money spent on Bonaire. I highly Recommend them as an educational and fun excursion for most people. Some small level of fitness will be required.

Thank you for taking the time for writing such an extensive response. Actually my tours always last a little longer than 2 hours. I just don't advertise it. I am glad you noticed !
