I'm not sure if I was just there on an off day. But, I really don't understand any 5-star ratings. I'm being generous at 3. The name is beyond arrogant as I've dived all over the world and disorganization in trying to get out on my reserved scuba trip was ridiculous. The dive master couldn't have been less helpful in getting gear together and being downright unpleasant about it. I've never dived anywhere - including two GREAT places in Bonaire - Dive Buddy and Dive Friends - where the staff didn't help you get your equipment together, help load it in the truck (actually, I've never been anywhere before that you even had to help the employees). The divemaster got rather snotty when I didn't know which tanks to choose to go out. And, I had to drag them a fair way, but refused to lift it up to the tailgate of the truck. There was no water and no snacks between dives. The water poured out of the container and so that was that (have you ever been diving where there was juice, or a minimum of water, and snacks between dives?). The divemaster spoke Dutch and was clearly more interested in the customers that did. Although he could speak English and got better as the day went on. I'm not a fantastic diver. But, I've dived in 10 countries and this was by far the weakest customer service I've received. I kind of see why Marriott Courtyard doesn't recommend it anymore (and it was the hotel's dive center of record).

We have been to Bonaire multiple times and this was the first time we used VIP Diving. The name VIP Diving describes perfectly the dive shop. They were extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable. They have the operation down to a science. The setup is perfect. We arrived every morning at around 7:30. We able to analyze our tanks (we used nitrox), load up and go. They have an off hours procedure where you can come, rinse all your gear and store it over night in a secured area. We highly recommend VIP Diving and would use them again the next time we go.

After completing the E-learning I took the Open Water diving course with Jeffrey at VIP who taught me solid skills to build on. For the next two weeks I had the pleasure of VIP's charming, knowledgeable staff providing family/me with tank pickups, gear purchases, storage capability, personalized assistance/advice and coffee! I'll be back. At VIP you are not just another fish in the sea.

We received a week of unlimited air fills with VIP dive as a part of our hotel package. It ended up being a great solution for us with our hotel only a few blocks away. VIP diving also had a great gear room where we could leave our stuff when we weren't diving. The staff was pleasant and helpful, freely sharing advice on their favorite dive sites. Two things that could have been better: 1. the gear clean out area got kind of gross. The water in the dunk tanks was really dirty and a bit smelly and definitely didn't make me happy about "cleaning" my gear in there. 2. I noticed some other operators had multiple locations around the island, which could have been helpful - we just took enough tanks to last us the whole day, so it wasnt a big deal having to come back to the one spot to swap them out.
