Incredible afternoon sailing trip! Our captain and his crew were perfect! The food was outstanding… light tapas, drinks…. Our captain sailed around the port and northern side of Bonaire and ended right at sunset…..we had about 12 people on our cruise!

We had a great time with the crew ! Friendly and fun atmosphere. Great snorkeling safari spot, Mariana was a wonderful guide helping us to spot marvellous sea creatures. Good food, great drinks!

The Dinner at Sea was one of the best snorkel sailings we have been on - we went on it twice in a few days. The boat was clean. We were welcomed aboard by a friendly staff and offered a beverage. There were 12 passengers on each trip. We could sit where we wanted. There was a covered area in the back of the boat with cushioned benches, and more cushions to sit on in the middle of the boat. The staff came around with a delicious tray of brie on bread, then tasty tuna salad on bread. They brought us drinks. They raised the sail and cut the engine for both trips. With a little luck, we sailed alongside dolphins on the first trip. We made our way to the marine park where we snorkeled among an abundance of fish, some large, many interesting. Both times there was a turtle in the area. We were helped back onto the boat and offered a delicious dinner of steak, fish, chicken, hamburgers and a variety of salads. We were offered more drinks as we headed back and stopped to watch the sunset. A great boat tour with a wonderful staff.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to the boat on time (not the crew’s fault and not blaming them), so we are unable to let you know how the experience was for us other than with respect to how it was handled. However, I can say that we had coordinated this with friends and there are many sides to one story.
We had a family member working on their scuba certification and the course took longer than planned so we rushed to make the boat. When we arrived at the marina, the guard told us they just left. We immediately called and were told that Compass tried to call us but were unsuccessful and left as there were other passengers. I said, “yes, our friends.”
When we connected with our friends later that evening they told us that they were told if we called and the boat wasn’t too far away the boat would return to get us, which is not what happened.
Our friends also explained that “we didn’t miss much.” 1) Without the four of us they found the bait to be cramped.
2) Though there is a canvas to squeeze under when it rains, the rain drops through.
3) The condition of the boat, particularly where the bathroom is, was in need of repair.
4) Apparently the snorkeling leader was like Chevy Chase at the Grand Canyon “ok, let’s go!”
5) Unfortunately, the food not very appealing.
Sometimes certain things can be overlooked when the atmosphere is wonderful and exciting and a little customer service is extended.
In our case, spending almost $400 to not go would have been even easier to accept if a little empathy was extended as opposed to blame.
In the case of our friends, many things could have been overlooked had the crew been enthusiastic, or energetic, or happy while leading the snorkel.
People can make a big and positive difference in experiences. Unfortunately, the Compass experience did not deliver that for anyone in our group.

Sadly, it appears as though this company has gone way down hill. We pre-paid for a sail and snorkel tour, received confirmation of date and time as well as pick-up point. We arrived 30 minutes early, waited an hour and a half with no communication from the tour operator. There is no phone number or even an email address to reply to in their confirmations. The phone number on their website goes unanswered. Completely unprofessional. I would run, not walk away from this company. We bought brand new snorkels, water shoes, high-end underwater case for cell phone photos and a beach safe all for this snorkel trip. What a waste. Do youself a favor and book with someone else. I’m sure we will have to fight for a refund as it’s been several days now without a word from Compass.

We booked a Tour and we were really excited based on the reviews. However, they cancelled not even 24h before because there weren't enough people booked and asked to reschedule. After I offered them different dates, they never wrote back. After no time was left on the island I asked for a refund. Again they didn't write back, which is incredibly unprofessional. Then I got an automated email that I should rate the trip I allegedly took. After I tried reaching out on three different platforms almost a week later they finally replied without being a bit sorry just saying they would refund it. I can only hope that happens I'm sure the trips are nice but costumer service can surely be improved.

The crew was friendly.
Food was plentiful but mediocre.
Plenty of soft drinks but very limited in “adult” beverage choices. Rum and gin were bottom shelf brands.
Boat was in need of attention - bathroom door did not close for one
Snorkel site chosen for this sail,Andrea 1, was a disappointing choice as it is so accessible but land.
Canvas “shelter” we huddled under when it rained was not waterproof and so it rained under the canvas too
I have gone on 4 other boat/food snorkels. Considering the costs are all pretty much the same - $100 - I would choose another company if available.

Do not book with this Company. We booked a half day sail 2 months in advance. Arrived in Bonaire this morning for our 9am sail. We walked up and down the road to meet them, but could not find them. Then received a reply to my message stating they cancelled the trip and had emailed me. They did not email me and haven't sent a copy of this email. They are not answering their phone either. They say they have refunded our money, but we are only in Bonaire for a day and now are too late to book a tour. Very angry and disappointed!!

We took the dinner, cruise, which included sailing, snorkeling, and an absolutely wonderful meal. The wine was chilled, and the appetizers were great. Robin, Carlos and Marcel did a wonderful job, explaining what we were seeing and experiencing through out the whole trip.

A MUST DO when on the island of Bonaire. Great sailing dinner and sunset. Picks up from dock and drops off at dock. Food was amazing as cooked by professional chef. Drinks are abundant and never empty. Well worth the price.

Hi all. Did anyone have any problem finding the Compass tent? I'm a little nervous as it's an early start and having paid in advance I don't want to miss the boat ha. From directions it appears that you turn left off the pier whether it's the North or South Pier you berth at? Any tips please?
Also, has anyone got back late off this tour? Would be a little more drastic if we missed OUR boat!
Thanks in advance. Any tips welcome.

No problem finding the tent. Turn left out of the pier and continue walking down the street. You will see their tent. Had a great time and a fabulous experience.

Do you have full face masks available?
Written January 30, 2019
We brought our own masks and snorkel this time, used their fins. Didn’t see any of the fullface masks.
Our first time we did use their equipment seemed well cared for they didn’t have prescription lenses at the time so we got our own. Saw tens of thousands of fish, not kidding huge schools.
We used Viator very happy with them.

Are the nature tags/snorking tags included in the tour price or do we have to obtain these separately? If we have to get them separately, how do we do that? We are sailing on Royal Caribbean in two weeks and have a tour booked with COMPASS while docked in Bonaire.
Thank You!!

the nature tags are included .
cruise passengers do not need a nature tag.
becouse they are less than 24 hours on the island.

We are looking into a trip to Bonaire in the fall and would ideally like to include some sailing with scuba diving. Theres just the 2 of us, myself and my wife and while we are definitely interested in the day trips you advertise and the question there is can we book within a few days of the trip, once we have our travel plans finalized, or should we book wel in advance. Also I wonder about a multiday sailing/snorkeling charter. possibilty and cost?
Hope you can help us with this. Tony Gannaway
