Cave Tour with a local Native Guide

While vacationing or a short visit by cruise ship on Bonaire, visitors will want to take advantage of the opportunity to discover the island’s cave, consisting of an estimated 400 caves. Since their formation, the caves have played an important role in the island’s overall ecosystem. Some caves are open for guided tours.  Explore ancient formations of stalactites and stalagmites that took thousands of years to form. While adventuring through select caves, continue through the cavern and find a small opening of water where visitors can snorkel. Climb through the opening with your flashlight, mask and snorkel, and snorkel through crystal clear water that is a mix of fresh and salt. It is important that when visiting the cave it should be with a Certified cave guide & operator.

You will be visiting 3 of the awesome caves here on the island together with a Native or Local tour guide. We will be picking you up at the port where the ship is or at your hotel or apartment. Transportation from and to your accommodation is cover

The caves are located on the North side of the Island. One at the entrance of Santa Barbara and one just down the road at a place called Hill Top we will stop at the second cave. Around this areas is rich in caves.

The first Cave we will be visiting have a ladder that you will have to climb down to get into the Cave. When you are in the cave there will be bats and a lot of special rocks.

When you are in the cave you will see a lot of type of lime stones as you can see on the pictures and some of the rocks look like they have gliders on them because when you shine your light or flashlight on it they start shining.

If you like cliff jumping, we will be visiting a small and low cliff jumping after the cave tour. It is very fun!!!! :) The cliff is not high at all and every one can jump from it :)

Who would have thought Bonaire has so many caves the explore! We visited 3 caves and each of them was unique. We even snorkeled in one of the caves! How amazing is that! Our guide Craig was very relaxed and friendly and taught us how to use a rope climbing up and down one of the caves (never done that before and it was awesome). Great experience! Highly recommend this tour!

Ephraim was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. The driver was also very friendly and fun to be around. We had booked a private tour and there was plenty of time to stop for photos and of course to ask questions and engage in interesting discussions. We managed to see many landmarks, beautiful nature, try a tasty local snack, and even spotted quite some flamingos! Ephraim also helped us and brought us to the pharmacy to buy a bug spray. In summary - amazing tour and we highly recommend it! Bonaire is a lovely island! We are certainly coming back one day.

We went to 3 different cave formation sites with our guide Ephraim and we got a great view of the caves. He was very friendly, helpful and knew a lot about the island and the cave systems. He was also very helpful with my 9 year old, and really took his time showing us the caves. I would surely advice anyone who's on vacation here to try this tour. Thank you and we'll do it again soon, Danny

Ephraim was an amazing tour guide! He was very enthusiastic and friendly. Right from the beginning he was full of information about the island. We customized our tour to our liking and Ephraim was great at communicating via email to build our tour. He was so much fun to hang out with. Unfortunately, our port stop was short and we would have liked to have spent more time on the island. In the 4 hours we spent on the island, we were able see about 80% of the island and saw all the highlights that we wanted to see.

We have lived on Bonaire for 2 winters so we THOUGHT we knew the whole island. Until Ephraim, our local guide, brought us on the Cave Tour. Wow! This was amazing. Turns out there are huge, magnificent caves on Bonaire. They are awe-inspiring. We went down a small stairs to get into the first cave. Full of glittery salt and amazing formations. The second cave was also impressive, and our guided told us a lot of information about the cave and Bonaire’s history. The third cave was the best adventure on Bonaire....!!!!! But I won’t tell you exactly what you can find in this cave as it’s better left a surprise! Best tour on the island. If you have only one day on the island, this is the tour you should book. Irene, Alex and Rob
