We were here with 13 people from our local dive shop, Ocean First in Boulder, CO. from 12/28-1/5/20. The staff was delightful. Dennis was there every morning at breakfast and often our server at Blennies as well. The dive boat staff took extra time to point things out to us on the reef. Niels found the seahorse at Carl's Hill for us and the Frog Fish at South Shore. Macey was a delight on the dives she lead us on. I was thinking the drift dive from Bari back to Buddy's would be mediocre but we saw a large spotted eagle ray with her. Every one was wonderful and the rooms are comfortable. We were in the 100's building but visited our friends in the 700's I would like to stay in the 700's next time we come back it was very modern. It will be great when they get the new Blennie's Restaurant built. It was under construction while we were there. The New Year's Eve celebration was a delight. Though we ate at Ingredients for NYE and that 6 course meal was delicious but the dinner was very long- over 3 hours.

I did not stay at the Resort. I completed my SCUBA certification here. Stephanie, our SCUBA instructor, was knowledgeable, professional, funny, gave good feedback during and after, and was patient. Most of all, her love for the ocean and diving really shined through. I could tell she was passionate about being and instructor and took great pride in teaching us. I feel lucky to have gotten her as my instructor. Thank you, Stephanie.

We first went somewhere else and it was a mistake. This is the best deal on the island.
Buy a tank card - 12 tanks for $100.
Bauke and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and have fair prices.
We did a night dive, boat dive and rented tanks from Buddies.
Great people to deal with.

My wife and I purchased some new masks and other items last week at Buddy. The store is nice and well stocked. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife purchased a Tusa mask and it ended up fitting her well. I purchased an expensive Halcyon mask. I was told I could return it if need be. When testing it in the pool later that day, the mask leaked badly. I tried to return it the next day. The young lady seemed ready to allow me to make an exchange it for another mask. Then she asked me if it had been wet and I said “yes”. She then said it was not returnable since I had been in the water with it. My obvious question was “how else could I tell if it was going to work unless I got it wet?” You could not tell the mask had been wet and it looked perfect just like when I purchased it. That did not matter to the young lady and I was told that I could not return it. My request is that Buddy make their policies more clear to customers as this is an important distinction, especially since I was told that I could return it. I would consider this policy very misleading.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the diving staff @Buddy Dive! The housekeeping and food services staffs are great also. Big shout outs to Tommy, Kiki and Olivia for attention to detail, professionalism, kindness and the joy they brought to our diving experience. The boat dives, the ease of the truck usage and tank pick-up for shore dives, the yummy breakfasts of the Drive and Dive packages are so worth it. And the Buddy Dive reef that you can grab a tank, jump in RIGHT THERE and dive on at any time of the day or night is another amazing feature. We definitely recommend Buddy Dive over any other option on Bonaire!

Another great experience with Buddy Dive, this time a one-day visit from a cruise ship. We made all of our arrangements in advance, and both Mariska and Karlijn took great care of everything up front including confirming our arrival a few days ahead of time. They even asked about our son and his girlfriend from our last week on the island.
Once there, divemaster Quintin was SPECTACULAR! My wife has some minor mobility issues above water and he chose shore dive sites that worked perfectly for her. He assisted her and her equipment into and out of the water, chatted like an old friend while driving to and between dive sites, and just made the day super fun.
Quintin chose Donkey Beach for our first tank. As with most Bonaire shore dive sites, it was an easy park-and-walk into the water. Plenty of sea life large and small, including two squid (our first in the wild) who graced us with an ink spurt.
Salt Pier, one of our favorite sites, was unavailable due to a ship loading salt so Quintin took us to Margate Bay - another new Bonaire site for us. Again, lots of life and color in the clearest and cleanest waters of our dive cruise.
Back at their shop in town (an easy walk from the cruise port), Mariska made sure we were packed and ready to go. We walked out their front door, I asked my wife how she was doing, and she said "Great! Those were excellent dives." That's the strongest recommendation I can give for any staff, dive shop, and island.
Buddy Dive is the best dive operation in the Caribbean, whether you're there for a day or a week or longer. We'll be back again. You should too.

Just finished my Padi Open Water course with Buddy Dive. Absolutely recommend it! Buddy’s reef is a perfect and accessible introduction to the world of diving. My instructor was Macy from The Netherlands. Couldn’t have wished for a better teacher. Clear explanation, patient, but all fun and laughs too! An awesome guide to a new world with a great eye for all things under water, including the application of your freshly learned skills. Rest of the team seems to be great as well. Thinking about picking up diving? This is the place.
PS Buddy Dive offers lots of dive- and boat trips. Will try one next week. Can’t wait!
PPS Sorry, random picture, awesome neighbour for a post dive chilling sesh at Buddy’s beach.

Did two wonderful dives at their beautiful house reef. And even though we were walk-ins from a different base they treated us as friends. Their facilities are in top shape and thanks to the stairs entry and exit were as easy as it can get. Definitely a recommendation.

I recently went diving with Buddy Dive while staying at the resort. I found the Divemasters & Captains helpful & informative. I especially like that they go slow along the reef. The gear cleaning tubes & lockers are conveniently located near the boat entry & Buddy Dive reef.
