Thank you to the owner and Captain of Aquaspace- Andrea and his crewman Jonathan. We enjoyed the excursion. Love, love, love the charm of Aquaspace and the good team aboard. Excellent Rum punch, we went to bed for a long nap after the trip... bliss.

the aquaspace is a semi-submersed, custom-built, one-time marine research vessel. from the time of jaques cousteau it was once tried by cousteau too. the underwater viewing chamber is nice, but it would be alot nicer if they could upgrade the original scratched, algae stained Plexiglas windows. our cruise along the coastal reef of klein bonaire including a good long stop for snorkeling was fantastic. out captain from portugal and his firstmate chanel idd a fantastic hob. thanks. i also enjoyed the rasta bus transporting us to from the cruise ship to the marina.

Folks, look at the reviews. Look at how many people rated it a five out of five. We - two couples - went on the BBQ/sunset trip and it was one of the best, if not the best time we had while on Bonaire for a week. We weren't there for just 12 hours off a cruise ship. So we experienced a lot in a week, and this was the best! Our host, Andre', and his sidekick Jonathan did a phenomenal job. The ship is somewhat of a museum in itself. Having been designed to allow for oceanographers to observe underwater life from the inside of the main hull of this trimaran, we got to see the side of the reef of Klein Bonaire from a vantage point that no other vessel, no snorkeler or diver gets to see. We even saw three turtles while cruising. Then we stopped for a very relaxing chance to snorkel - with the current, while Andre' and Jonathan maneuvered the Aquaspace to a spot about 500 yards down from where you got out, and we slowly swam/drifted in that direction for about 15-20 minutes. While you were gone, Andre' fires up his grill, and prepares a six course meal that made you realize that Andre' really knows how to cook! All ten of us on the trip became like family, eating at a table with wine, rum, beer, water, juices, whatever you wanted flowing. We had huge bowls of salad that was excellent, and then comes the chicken, fish, and beef! Not the choice of - all of them available to each of us! And after all that, you have the best sunset possible on the back side of Klein Bonaire, with nothing obstructing your view as the sun sinks into the sea! Whether you come to Bonaire for a week like we did, or you have to be back on your cruise ship at 10 PM, this activity should be #1 on your list. This is the way to enjoy the island of Bonaire!

We booked the Aquaspace Semi-submersible boat and snorkel trip as an excursion from the Holland America cruise to Bonaire and had a great time on this trip. The boat is a one-of-a-kind tri-hull with underwater seating and viewing ports in the center hull. Accessing the underwater area might be a little tight for a large person, but there was plenty of room for everyone who was on board with us. There was enough room to move around to look out of either side so nobody had a 'bad' seat. Our trip started by cruising along the island of Kline Bonaire which was a 10-minute ride from the harbor area. Once we neared the island we descended to the underwater area of the boat. The captain slowly cruised along the reef that surrounds the island for us to view the underwater sea life. It was an amazing trip. We saw one sea turtle and somewhere around 10,000 fish (no exaggeration) in about 20 minutes cruising along the reef. I have snorkeled in many places, but have never seen so many fish in such a short time. Along with the fish, the coral and undersea plant life was absolutely beautiful! After the cruise along the island we snorkeled for about 30 minutes--lots of fish and coral. Afterwards, during the trip back to the harbor we were served snacks made by the captain and an assortment of soft and not-so-soft drinks. The rum punch was some of the best we have experienced.
