Clearbottom Mangrove Kayak & Snorkel tour

97 reviews
Our mangrove glass bottom kayak & snorkel tour begins at the lovely beach from Lac Cai. The Bonaire Mangrove reserve is located in Lac Bay National Park. Visitors can only enter the mangroves in the company of an experienced nature guide. Your stable, glass bottom sit-on-top kayak is equipped with a comfortable backrest seat, a waterproof bag for your personal belongings and, of course, paddles. Off you go, into the calm waters.

The glass bottom kayak provides an ideal mode of transport in this beautiful and tranquil environment, as you manoeuvre with ease through the mangrove shallows and tunnels.

Gliding by four different species of mangrove trees in crystal-clear waters, paddling past bird habitats and fish spawning areas, you'll learn of the relationship between the plants and the animals. The snorkel location offers a great variety of marine life and is considered by many a must-do while visiting Bonaire!

Jibe City windsurfing is a phenomenal location for windsurfing. the island of Bonaire has so much charm and beauty and the lagoon where the wind surfing takes place is no different. The lagoon has a natural break wall so while there are constant winds (during my mid-Feb. stay from 10 to 30 knots) there is very limited wave action. Jibe city has been in operation for 30 years so not only do they know exactly what they're doing but they have a huge selection of sails and boards. The grounds are well thought-out with day lockers, showers, beach chairs etc. by the adjacent bar restaurant. The only negative is that their launch area is somewhat limited in size and getting underway takes some serious maneuvering when there's lessons, show boarders or amateurs creating roadblocks. since the wind is generally on shore coming back should be a straight run but on one Sunday it was more crowded than Grand Central station. they could have used a control tower to direct traffic. once your out into the lagoon it's so large there's no issue finding wide open area.

This is a great spot to spend the day or the afternoon. However, if there is a cruise ship in port, don't go. It's total chaos and extremely overcrowded where its not enjoyable.

Great place to spend the day! All the colors of the wind sails contrasted with the crystal blue water and good beats from the sound system make it a perfect setting. Smoke salmon sandwich was very tasty as were the many Amstel Brights

We always go to Jibe city for the Windsurfing at Lac Bay. its amazing. The bar is unique and the food is brilliant with great presentation and a good size portion and good prices. The staff are brilliant and they are always happy and smiling and helpful. This was our 3rd year and Oscar remembered us straight away,so impressed that he remembered our names ad they are thousands that go there each year. Great sunbeds to lounge around on and plenty of seating around the bar area and shade for those who want to avaoid the sun at its hottest. Thank you to all the staff, especialy Oscar whos service was brilliant. we will be back hopefully sooner rather than later.

Went to Jibe City twice while in Bonaire. Wish I could be back there now. Both times, I ordered the Jibe City burger and was not disappointed. Sitting in shade, on the deck, watching the people and windsurfers, a nice warm breeze, a cold Bright and a great tasting burger. Jibe City is a great place to sit back and enjoy.
