The story behind this wreck is that the ship, the William Express, was floundering behind Kleine Bonaire when the authorities towed it into harbor for repairs. Mysteriously overnight, the crew then disappeared into thin air, leaving the island with a leaky boat and a puzzle: who or what had been on board? Putting out a notice, the Bonaireans were contacted... More

235 foot locker freighter that is laying on it's side between the two reef systems in the southern part of the island of Bonaire. You must dive this if you are visiting the island to SCUBA dive. Try to go early in the morning to avoid rougher seas and more people. Entry can be slippery so step carefully. Best in... More

We didn't expect it to be so big. We were just diving down the reef and could see this big, black object sitting in the sand. was really a cool dive!

I love ship wrecks , this is a very good wreck dive because it has wide openings and safe to swim through . I have been to Bonaire twice and on each trip I have done this dive several times .

We love the Hilma Hooker. It's an advanced dive but very easy. It's still in good shape so you can have a good sense of how she was. Lots of Sargent fish guarding their nests in the hull. There are a couple of enormous groupers that hang around the wreck. You can almost pet them, they're so tame. Very fun... More

This Hilma Hooker can be dove from shore or a boat. I've done both. The shore entry is challenging over spiny urchins and there is a big step down into the sand. You need to be extremely careful. Then there are three surface markers one for the stern to the South, one for the bow to the North and one... More

I am a new diver, and I had a few dives under my belt when my husband (who is an advanced diver) and I did this dive. I thought it was easy to access from the shore, and I didn't really feel a current the day that we went, although I'm sure it changes. We did not go inside the... More

As newer divers, this was actually the first wreck dive we did. Not being qualified we didn't enter the ship but I'm not even sure you can. There was plenty to see from the side and above. This ship was intentionally sunk after drugs were confiscated on it and then the ship was unclaimed. This is easy to access from... More

This site is for advanced divers. And it is supposed to be a must do if you fall into that category. I don't dive, but we snorkel. One windy day we decided we would just at least snorkel above it to see it. Got out to the markers very quickly. Yes, it did look very cool. Turned back around to... More
