Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn, or an expert seeking top notch boards and sails, Bonaire Windsurf Place is the place to go. This family friendly location provides excellent customer service in a relaxing atmosphere. Great place to sail in the shallow waters of Lac Bay. The three local BWP owners strive to make your experience one you will want to repeat. Bonaire Windsurf Place instituted and continues to support local youth windsurf sports.

It is an excellent place to rent windsurf equipment. A lot of boards and sails that you can choose according the wind. The owners are very friendly and the staff is very helpful.

We loved learning to windsurf! The Windsurf Place keeps it really affordable and convenient. Lots of time options. The instructor was so nice and patient. Suggestion: post a reminder to wear more sunscreen. We didn’t put on enough, and got super burnt. Also, maybe an earlier morning option?! I’d love to do this at 6am and beat the crowds!! There were so many people, it was hard to get away from them all.

This was and awesome experience for my wife and I. Ro the instructor made us feel welcome and comfortable and like family. We learned very quickly with his instructions and were off to play in Sorobon bay. The equipment was safe, in great shape and the location was perfect for this sport. We will definitely return when we go back to Bonaire

Don't go here if you are a beginning. Can't speak to their operation for experienced windsurfers but their costs are WAY too expensive for the first-timer.

We scrapped the idea of trying windsurfing when I saw the prices. $50.00 for the lesson seemed reasonable but the footnote states that the price did NOT include equipment rental...so, add another $145.00 for the minimum of 2 days for equipment for a low-end total of $195.00 per person!!

Jibe City is $50.00 for the 2-hour lesson and free-time, and the price INCLUDES the equipment, insurance, fees, taxes, etc. Skip BWP and go to Jibe City, you won't be disappointed.

A well-run establishment with plenty of equipment for all skill levels. Winds are consistent and water is clear and shallow with a sandy bottom. No water starts necessary as the runs are all within the bay. Great for learning or honing your skills. Can get crowded but dodging the beginners is fairly easy. We found the runs to get monotonous after a few days because the bay is not expansive and the wind direction forces a course parallel to the beach. This can also be comforting, though, as there is no chance of difficulties that can occur in open water.

Lockers can be rented as well as chairs on the beach. The beach shack has surprisingly great food and service.

My wife and I took our first lesson and it went great, we actually ended up surfing! Also there is a very nice bar nearby with good food and prices. I had read one review stating that you had to pay USD 50 for the lesson plus 150 for the equipment, but that was not the case; we paid 50 each for 2 hours (1 lesson + 1 by ourselves), including the board.

Had 13 days of good wind and the tides were high. Equipment is in good shape and there is enough of it that you usually get what you want. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, particularly when it comes to recommending sail sizes.
