Clear Caribbean waters with clean white sand...perfect and serene. Very relaxing beach after a long tiring day. Close to Pirate's Cove where you can grab a bite and drink. Great (and free) facilities for changing and showering. You can also see a few tiny crabs...More
A wonderful part of Carlisle Bay with a calm sea and endless white sand. At Browne’s Beach there are changing rooms with outside showers and lockers for use by people who have the foresight to bring a padlock. Vendor will hire you a seat and...More

It is conducive for families and small children; couples and solo visits.

There was a cruise ship in port so the beach was filled with tourists and locals alike. Jet skis and snorkeling boats zoomed around looking for patrons. Sunbathers caught the rays in their rented beach chairs while the kids played unbothered by the buzz of...More

Whilst in Barbados there was a HUGE problem with seaweed and all my favourite beaches on the south coast were un-swimable because of it. Browne's is a bus ride away but was the only beach on that side of the island that wasn't completely covered....More

There are vendors selling wares and people roaming on the beaches - so you should not leave anything out. If you have valuables - the public beach does have a security guard at the wash house and there is a life guard shack...also the beach chair $5/pp if you find them can hold on to your stuff.
Might recommend going to the boat yard $25 US per person, includes chairs and there is a full bar/restaurant onsite - they can secure any any valuables

When you arrive at Browne's Beach, you will see many locals who work for a few different excursion companies. You can pay them cash, and do the excursion the same day. Their typical excursions are going on a brief boat ride, and swimming and snorkeling above a ship wreck and snorkeling with sea turtles. This excursion is between $25 - 40 USD, and lasts an hour. I also saw a large Private's Ship, but I'm not sure what that one involves and for how much. In summary, bring cash, and book your excursion at the beach and you'll be able to enjoy it the same day.
