After careful research in the year before our trip to Barbados, we booked a Boxing Day “Adult Only” premium dinner cruise with Silver Moon Catamaran on the Moondance. Based on my research this was the most positively reviewed catamaran cruise in Barbados, and we were not disappointed!
Silver Moon, Captain Gavin and his crew exceeded our expectations. We were taken care of like VIP guests from the second we arrived. We watched them as they took care of a few elderly passengers, were gentle and careful getting them on board ("this way young lady"), settled, and comfortable. Making sure we alway had a drink in hand, even paying attention to the fact I was alternating my drinks with water! ("You just had a club soda, here is your rum punch!").
In addition to treating us like VIP guests, safety was paramount. They were hyper-aware of every guest, and knew exactly what was going on with everyone every second. I was a bit sea sick after the first snorkel stop (I had swallowed a bit of sea water), and didn’t say anything and was sitting quietly. Captain Gavin could tell right away and was by my side immediately, asking how I was and recommending the best place to sit. The crew kept checking on me and bringing me club sodas, even bringing my dinner out on a tray. During the first snorkel stop my husband ran out of energy due to his asthma, and before I could even get to him, one of the crew was already at my husband’s side and ferrying him around on a flotation device. They basically anticipate everything and are there to help you.
Even with being a little sea sick (due to accidentally drinking seawater - the Moondance was very smooth!), the cruise was lovely and relaxing. Only 12 people on board, so you didn’t feel crowded. 2 stops to snorkel, and one swimming stop. My only regret was not booking a second cruise during our trip - they were completely booked up, so remember book ahead! Great value fo the money spent.
Although I wasn't able to eat the dinner (they offered to pack up my dinner for me) my husband and daughter enjoyed the dinner, appetizers and dessert tremendously. For the elderly passengers, they made up their plates for them so they didn't have to get up. I loved how they took such gentle care of them.
They also didn’t push for tips, just left a Tip Jar at the end. I was happy to tip generously after receiving such wonderful service. Thank you Captain Gavin and crew for the highlight of our Barbados vacation!

A group of 12 friends and myself chartered the SM on Sunday last (26th January) for a Sunset Cruise. We decided we wanted to cruise up the West Coast and back, as we are all long term visitors or residents and didn't want to waste time in Carlisle Bay swimming with loads of tourists bothering the turtles. We also didn't want loud music (but we were v. happy with Bob Marley). We had a lovely sail, and swam/snorkelled at Holetown Marine park - saw lots of fish - and then sailed up to tranquil Heron Bay and dropped anchor while we ate our meal. The food, including the nibbles served en route, was excellent and well presented. The main meal is a buffet: special arrangments were made for vegetarian and a special meal. We were lucky to have a spectacular sunset and the skiper took the boat close to the shore on the way back to port so we got to see lots of places we all know. It was a great afternoon; made even better by a helpful, and knowledgeable crew. Silver Moon is the best of the yacht trips on offer in Barabdos and I highly recommend it. If I have one tiny niggle it is that with 13 diners, one is sort of left sitting at a small table away from the others - that was me, and I did miss out on a lot of the conversation. I dont hink much can be done about this but I mention it for what it is worth. The boat was immaculate. Very good value for money.

Booked Silver Moon Charters whilst in Barbados cruising. Pick up at the cruise port was bang on time, short journey to the boat port. Welcoming staff and crew, soon settled on board with a rum punch! The captain and crew were super attentive and constant flow of drinks available. As promised, great snorkelling areas to drop into the crystal clear waters and amazing fish on show, and the highlight encounter with turtles. Met some great folks on board, and with the limit to patron numbers, ensured easy going chat whilst eating terrific buffet lunch cooked fresh on board.
All in all a great trip, would highly recommend Silver Moon, classy service, well worth the price.

I booked the private cruise for 8 persons on board the Silver Moon vessel from 10am-2pm. We arrived to warm greetings and were introduced to our captain Luke and lead straight on board. The interior is very cozy with lots of comfy seating and bedrooms and bathrooms below. First we were offered fruit and the bar is open from the minute you step onboard with premium drinks! We had plenty mimosas! Shortly after setting sail more bites came samosas and mini patties. Everything was delicious. You can pretty much plan how you want your day to go so we skipped snorkelling and went right to a swim stop. Shortly after that lunch was served. Again everything was excellent. Also dessert which really had nowhere to go since we were stuffed. I even got a little birthday gift from the crew. They didn't miss a beat. Then it was pretty much smooth sailing back down the coast. You have full use of the boat while you're on it that includes bluetooth to play your own music. In post covid times everything was clean and I had no worries about health safety.
I really had a great time and I highly recommend. Nothing beats great service and the entire Silver Moon team was exceptional! Everybody I interacted with was really thoughtful. Thank you all so much Marilyn, Megan, Nicky, Luke, Sam, Tyrone! I can't wait to sail again.

We absolutely enjoyed the crew! How naturally nice they were and welcoming was a breath of fresh air. We were made to feel extra special. I love how patient they were with the kids when they did the snorkeling especially since some of them couldn’t swim. The food was super delicious and filling. For the 9am cruise though, I would say to eat breakfast before you go, that was the error we made since light snacks were given around 10:30. The crew quickly accommodated however once we advised them of our plight.
At the booking phase, customer service was good and they were very pleasant. However we had a communication issue in terms of numbers. At check in this caused an issue because they were trying to charge us for no shows. However they called the owner and he or she was gracious enough to waive that fee. Despite this the lady at check in was extremely pleasant and welcoming.
I also informed them at the booking phase that this was a birthday cruise. We had two birthday celebrants on board and there was no little surprises for them. Unfortunately the crew was unaware and they didn’t get anything for the birthday celebrants. Nevertheless this amazing crew set out to ensure our birthday crew had a fabulous time. I take my hats off to them. I have been in the hotel industry for 14 years and this crew really is the definition of truly good customer service.
I have had the opportunity many times over the years to recommend this catamaran and this was my first time, having my family on this boat. They enjoyed the experience and we will certainly recommend it to others. Thanks!!

This is an absolute must do !! We went out with skipper Richard and his crew on Monday 27th Jan 2020 and what an experience we had. The team are amazing and the catamaran is stunning. Only 12 people plus crew on board and you feel like it's a private voyage. Everything is top class.
Arrived at Bridgetown Port at 9am and left dock immediately after a quick but informative H&S talk. Ten minutes to first stop, Carlisle Bay to swim with turtles and see the stingrays in crystal clear waters, and I say swim with turtles I mean face to face with large green back turtles. Taking an underwater camera is a must. Life jackets and snorkel gear is top class and the crew go in the water and look after everyone, especially any weak or non swimmers. Richard kept a close eye from the boat. After 25 minutes, we climbed back on board and rinsed down upon entering the deck. Quick 15 min sail to two stunning shipwrecks and thousands of fish. Crew in water gave very clear information about the wrecks and fish. The wrecks are just below the surface and covered with huge corals. The best underwater experience we've had anywhere in the Caribbean.
We then sailed 1 hour to Sandy Bay at Holetown and anchored before being served a 5* cooked lunch. Not the normal BBQ you'd expect, this was first class chicken, fish, pasta, toasted bread and salad, cooked perfectly and more than enough food to feed 20 people. Top brand spirits, wine and soft drinks served all during the trip. Whatever drink you can think of, they have it on board. Another chance to swim at Sandy Bay or to go onto the beach before setting sail back to Brigdetown.
I can't emphasize enough what a fantastic experience this is with a totally awesome crew. A serious 'must do'. Thanks guys.

What an amazing experience we had aboard the Silver Moon. We chose the day excursions (5 hours) that only had 12 passengers. We had plenty of space on board the luxurious catamaran and the kids had a blast. We were a group of 6 (4 adults and 2 children age 7 and 9). We stopped to swim with turtles, snorkel with fish and have a picnic (which was actually a full meal, dessert included)!
The staff (Luc, Sam, Randy and Kevin) were fantastic, friendly and took care of all our needs.
I would definitely recommend booking with Silver Moon and upgrading to the excursions with less passengers. You won't regret it!

Our second time using this company for a small group excursion while in Barbados for the day (cruise port stop). One from our group chartered the boat and then advertised on Cruise Critic. Each passenger then contacted Silver Moon directly to make payment arrangements. Silver Moon does not disappoint with the quality of their boats or their crew.
Thank you
Thank you

Last Wednesday, my mom, sister and I had the pleasure of embarking on a five-hour sail with Silver Moon and it was the highlight of our Barbados holiday.
Although it appeared we would be sailing into inclement weather, the sun decided to favor us and we had a delightful day. We were picked up promptly at our hotel, enjoyed a congenial ride to the harbor with other guests and were sorted into groups.
The catamaran was absolutely spotless from bow to stern. Mickey, the skipper, delivered herself of an amusing and informative safety lecture and we got underway. Tony and Melique comprised the rest of the crew and they all three could not have been more professional or attentive. We enjoyed the beverages provided as well as the delicious lunch. Although we encountered only one turtle, we did see a ray and numerous other fish on the snorkeling/swimming stops. My mom (she’s almost 88) is not a swimmer and she enjoyed sunning herself on the webbing and flirting with the crewmen. 😊
I would not hesitate to recommend this excursion to other visitors to Barbados and I would welcome the opportunity to sail with Silver Moon again.

My husband and I searched for a sunset cruise for Barbados and found this gem. Although not titled as a sunset cruise, the timing was perfect to view it. Everything was top notch, the boat crew and captain were so personable and fun. The snorkeling witht the sea turtles and along a shipwreck was already worth the cost but then above that- our drinks stayed full and cold, we were fed tasty appetizers and dinner. It was very interesting to watch them work the sails. This was a luxury catamaran, so clean and comfortable with many places to rest and watch the view. This cruise was limited to 12 and we enjoyed all the conversations among the crew and passengers. If you want that different vibe than being just one of dozens on a tour, this option has much value and I would recommend it. We will be book it again next time, hopefully we can bring our grown kids along.

Please could you let me know if they provide life jackets/ floating devices for nervous swimmers? also do they provide snorkelling equipment?
Thank you!
Written June 10, 2023
Yes, absolutely, life jackets and snorkeling equipment and noodles for floating on! Extremely patient snorkel assistants! They are wonderful, attentive and the snorkeling equipment is very clean. They also have a kayak and and a surfboard for floating on! You won't go wrong - it is a one of a kind adventure!

Can you please tell me what alcoholic drinks are served on the Silver Moon 3 please - as it’s not premium drinks does this mean no cocktails or Prosecco? What beers are usually included?
Thanks
Written February 25, 2023
Didnt pay much attention to the beer or wines on board, but they had tequila!!!

What is the difference in Premium XL vs 12 passenger cruise?
Written May 6, 2022
No under 18 on Premium, both catamaras share almost the same path during the day

Hi. We’re interested in hiring a boat for a day (10-4). There’s only 2 of us. Is this possible?
Thanks
Written February 15, 2020
The lunchtime cruise is best- they collect you from your accommodation and the cruise is 9am to 2pm- loads of room on board, there were 9 of us plus 2 other couples. We saw so many other boats crowded- ours was very spacious and with a max of 12/13 people felt very exclusive. Excellent value for money as lunch, drinks, snacks and pick up/drop off all included in the price- easy to book on their website. Hope that helps
Written February 15, 2020
Is there an option for large group of 18-20 , as i see a lot of posts saying max 12 passengers?
Written January 26, 2020
I think they could accommodate your party of 18-20. In your case I assume they would just book a vessel that normally takes up to 16 and reserve that for your group. There would be plenty of room. However reach out and they will be more than accommodating to your inquiry. Great company to work with and the boat, staff, and food is exceptional.

Yes definitely good for children, snorkel gear to fit them and the crew are great with kids.
