Our usual dive centre was closed so we decided to give Peter a go and dive with him and his team. Really accommodating in all our requests. Looked after us and the other divers above and below water. Provides good service at reasonable rates. Parking available or he will pick you up on request.Doesn’t take card so cash or bank transfer. His boat was well equipped and his team all help out getting you and your gear a board safely. Can provide Din or A clamp cylinders and nitrox on request. All divemasters and instructors first class. Plenty of snacks and water including cake on surface intervals. Would and will be using Peter again. Thanks again to all his team and Banks for providing the surface interval entertainment in the rain!!

Peter at West Side Scuba is knowledgable, accommodating and fairly priced. My husband and adult daughter were very impressed and can't wait to go back again. The crew made sure everyone had a unique experience.

Like others I read Tripadvisor a lot to check things out but don’t usually write anything…. Just wanted to give some honest feedback about Peter and his team to help others to determine if this is the right team to dive with on a visit to Barbados. I learnt to dive in the Red Sea 20+ years ago and enjoy it when I do it, which isn’t often but have experience in Egypt, Oman, Kenya, US and the Med. We all know there are some sketchy dive centres out there with different levels of safety and equipment. Our family of 5 (including 3 daughters aged 10,12 and 16) were at the Boatyard for the day (definitely worth a visit by the way). A part of the Boatyard experience is a snorkel trip out in Carlisle Bay to look at the wrecks and turtles etc. As we were getting off the boat, Scuba Max of the dive crew mentioned scuba diving if anyone wanted to see more. So I grabbed a brochure and read it over a beer and floated the idea of diving with the family. I had a chat with a couple of guys in the shop and then with Peter over the phone/WhatsApp about what options were available to give our kids their first scuba experience. The team were not pushy at all, no overt selling - just provided full information, answered our questions and left it with us as to what we wanted to do. No pressure. We organised for a Discover Scuba Dive for the kids with me and mom tagging along at a safe distance. Firstly, the dive team take safety extremely seriously. Peter runs a VERY tight ship and I was very comfortable with how he and Robbie looked after our girls. They have their priorities right. Equipment was top notch too. So that was a big box ticked. On top of creating a safe environment, Peter and his team make this a fun and enjoyable way to spend time too. Briefings are thorough, training is conducted in a way that makes the whole experience fun too and the atmosphere/vibe within the team is excellent. The dive sites they have on their doorstep are very good. Turtles a plenty, really nice wrecks and varied sea life. The girls all loved their first scuba experience and this led to our 16 year old going back to do 2 more dives a couple of days later. She loved that experience too and all 3 now want to gain their PADI qualifications and dive more. Safety, fun and great dives on their doorstep all add up to why Peter’s crew (in my limited experience) is the best dive centre I’ve been to and is a model of how scuba should be offered. 100% recommended.
