Had a great day out at the races

Facilities are simple but adequate. We watched seven races and had a fun time. Easy to place a bet. Staff were friendly.

The Garrison Savana is the only place to be on a Saturday afternoon in Barbados. This track draws world wide class horses and their speed and strength can be experienced at such close quarters. One can get right up to the rail and between race even wander across the turf to the other side without being interrupted. Children freely play... More

Sadly, there was no racing on when I visited but this is a huge attraction for locals and visitors alike, situated in plentiful grounds and masses of atmosphere!

After watching the racehorses every morning swimming in the ocean decided to go an watch them perform on the track. What fun, never been to a racecourse before so had nothing to judge it by, which is probably for the best. Had a great afternoon, the horses were great, atmosphere good, didn't do any actual betting just picking a horse... More

We spent a couple of hours at the horse races, in Barbados. The track is on the Garrison grounds, so historic buildings all around. Hung out with the locals at one end, on the grass, right on the rail. Thundering hooves speeding by! Ate 'bread-and-two' and cold Deputy beers, Fantastic, and free. ($10 for grandstand, but our way was much... More

We splurged and paid the $10.00 US for grandstand seats. There were a total of 9 races which we enjoyed. Unlike our sophisticated, computerized race tracks, the Barbados Turf club reminded us of race tracks of the past, up close and personal. The Barbadians appeared to be passionate about their race day. Many local folks pack up their cars with... More

I was visiting nearby and was draw to the epic scale of the racecourse. I visited in the early morning, when there was only a couple of Jockeys putting their mounts through their paces. It was must be some sight seeing this place in full packed mode.

We visited the races on sat 20th November, we did not sit in the stand, but by the rails with the locals, 4 beers $10, it's lovely seeing the locals excitement over the races. Fabulous atmosphere.
