We spent a day at the boatyard. It cost us thirty dollars each that included a sunbed and shade, a drink, a boat trip to see the turtles and a transfer back to our cruise ship. It was money well spent. The boat trip to see the turtles which also included a shipwreck was very good and well led by Eli. The free rum punch almost blew my head off 😊 The beach was beautiful and although we did not order food it seemed very well organized. We would definitely recommend a day here.

We went for a family day out, The entry fee includes a bar tab, it was BBD$60
Per adult, and you get BBD$45 bar credit, more than enough for a few soft drinks and a meal.
You get a sunbed on the beach with parasol, and use of the swing, diving board and water trampoline and climbing‘iceberg’
The best part is the included snorkelling activity, you go on a boat to snorkel the ‘Bajan Queen’ wreck and to swim with turtles! This 45 min activity includes all equipment and has knowledge experienced guides and is worth the entry alone!
We spent all day here 10-16:00 in the water, on the beach and the snorkelling with lunch and drinks as a family with teenage kids.
Well recommend for the amazing beach and sea in Carlisle bay and the included snorkelling with the turtles 🇧🇧😎

We had a great time at the boat yard. We were on a cruise and had 1 day in Barbados, we walked slowly for 30 mins stopping for photos on route from the port to the boatyard taking in the sights. We arrived around 9:30am and paid by card 210 BBD for 3 adults. This included a welcome drink per person, 45 mins (we had an hour) snorkeling trip with 2 stops; one for turtles and another for the shipwreck, an umbrella and sunbed each plus access to the toilets/facilities and water slide/trampoline as well as transport back to the port.

The snorkeling trip was great we saw a stingray, few turtles and lots of fish. Equipment is provided if you don't have your own and lifejackets are mandatory. Make sure you book onto this as soon as you arrive.

We chose Rum punch for our drink which could have been had at any time as they tear a section from the armband..we had ours straight away as we weren't made aware of this hence 4 stars.

The trampoline was impossible for us to climb on but the slide was great fun.

The beach was beautiful, soft, white sand and lovely calm sea with a few gentle waves. There were two cruise ships in and the beach was not at all crowded with sunbeds available throughout the time we were there.

We left around 3:30, we had a great day and felt it was worth the price paid.

You can buy additional drinks or food but there was no pressure to do so.

After a week lounging on beautiful beaches in the south of the island we fancied going to The Boatyard with the intention of snorkelling with turtles
70$ each (voucher towards bar food included)
The entry staff were rude officious and generally disinterested. The sunbeds ( included in the entry) were packed very close together. The staff involved in the snorkelling were again rude and shouted at several participants just because they couldn’t understand their garbled instructions.
We did see a turtle hence the 1 star
The food was poor quality. From queuing up to order to being served a tuna sandwich 90 minutes. Drinks were double what we had been paying previously
On leaving I was waiting at the exit gate for my girlfriend. I took off my wristband and put it in a bin. I was immediately accosted by a member of staff blowing a whistle in my ear telling me that I would have to pay again as I wasn’t wearing a wristband . I pointed out that I was obviously leaving, it was 5 pm and retrieved my band from the bin. By this time another staff member turned up and demanded that I was ejected from the boatyard as I had committed a “ major violation!!!” I was walking out the gate and had put my band in a bin!!! Would never return

This was probably our favourite day of the holiday. My husband and I had been there before, when we were on a cruise, but we had our family (adults) with us this time. The deal is slightly different depending on whether you’re on a cruise or staying on the island, and I think the latter is better value. US35/BB$70 per person, with a US$22.50/BB$45 food drink credit. The credit will just about cover a meal and a couple of beers. So effectively you’re paying US$7.5 for a sunbed, umbrella, beach apparatus (floating trampoline and slide), and the snorkel trip, which is great value!

Food portion sizes are good - too much for me to eat but my sons finished my fries! They were able to adapt the chicken strips for me as I’m dairy intolerant. Apparently the flying fish sandwich was brilliant.

The snorkel trip is very good. It lasts about 45 minutes, all equipment is provided if you don’t have your own. There are lockers for hire, or you can leave bags in the hut where they run the snorkelling from.

We all felt that the beach was probably the best we went to all holiday. The sand is soft, and the water was lovely and mostly calm. The twenty-somethings in our group had great fun on the trampoline, slide and swing rope.

Whenever we go back to Barbados I expect we’ll go to the Boatyard at least once every trip.

We had a great day at the boatyard, $60 each to enter but you get $45 dollars put on a card for food and drinks. They provide sun beds, tables and umbrellas. Food and drink can be taken in the restaurant or on the beach, good variety and the Carib beer went down very well. There is a trampoline in the sea and an iceberg for climbing on, the sea is quite deep around these so make sure children have life vests if not good swimmers. The sea is so calm and beautiful sandy underfoot. There is a pier with high jumping ledges and a rope swing into the sea. Included in the entrance fee is a short boat trip to a ship wreck, where we snorkelled and we were lucky enough to swim with turtles 🐢. Snorkels, masks and life vests are provided. The sun shine and it was a perfect day.

Good value for money, nice place to spend a beach day!

$60 BBD entry but $45 you get back to spend on food and drinks! In addition to use of sun beds and umbrellas, showers etc. They also provide a snorkelling tour which is included in the entry which we thought was a great addition to the day!

We encountered one unfriendly member of staff but the rest were great. They require you to wear a mask when walking around the restaurant and to the bathrooms which is easy. Temp check required on entry as well.

The West Side Scuba centre is also based at The Boatyard and they are great! If you are looking to book any scuba diving or a Padi courses I highly recommend them!

I don't normally leave negative reviews, especially for businesses I haven't spent any money in. However I was particular put out by the manner we were spoken to in this Boatyard place. They clearly don't appreciate walk-in customers and must only be geared to their 'Experience' clientele, booked from cruiseships and hotels. We entered the premises from the beach, were stopped and rudely asked where our wristband was. We explained we didn't have one but enquired about getting one. The gentleman had no interest in selling us one, didn't tell us the deal or where to buy one. He reiterated at least three times 'No wristband no entry'. The venue was far from busy and there was no call for that attitude. We subsequently boycotted the place and do not recommend it for casual visitors to Barbados/Bridgetown. Copacabana club down the beach was much friendlier.

What an absolute tourist trap with staff that on the whole are grumpy and rude! No real directions about what and where to go, they are clearly going for Carribean beach bar vibe but it just feels dirty and in need of s good overhall! The only good thing was the boat trip to swim with turtles! Waited 2 hours for our food which was crap.. after waiting at bar for 30 mins to order changing facilities are in the toilet block which had two blocked toilets and were filthy to top it off, my husband went to bar to order two drinks costing 36 bbds paid with a 50 dollar note and guy gave him receipt and no change then started serving someone else my husband thought you maybe got only credit as we had already decided to leave after drink I said no go get our change he then got some kind of story about the server thought he had left a tip.. 14 dollars for two drinks I don’t think so, clearly hoping that you are too embarrassed tp ask for change.. would not come back here ever again and I suggest you don’t either!
I know you pay for what you get but after visiting the likes of ocean beach and zero gravity this fails on every level!

We were on a cruise and had two days in Barbados, and visited on the 31st January 2020. We got there just after 10am, not crazy early, but later than expected after having a very eventful journey there after a rogue taxi driver dumped us. We arrived to find a big built fellow stood at the door. Next to a sign saying "Sold out"....We learned that there were no sun loungers, no chairs and no availability for the turtle snorkelling tour either. So I asked the lady at the desk, is it cheaper given I'd have no bed or tour (I'd just enjoy the floating obstacles)? The answer was no. I then asked what exactly I was paying 2 x $25 for? And I didn't get an answer. I walked around the corner onto the public beach, and was able to find our friends (Boatyard beach is also public, NOT private). Given the beach is public, we were able to sit with them, providing we only sat on the sand. I pleaded with some of the staff to see if they could squeeze one person onto the turtle tour, and the answer was no. I said the manager still wanted us to pay $25 each, for nothing. The staff members response was "the manager won't care man, the manager is a pr**k". I wasn't even allowed into the venue to purchase a drink, nor to have even one swing on the rope swing. I had to pay $25 for the privilege. Then to add insult to injury, our friends who had paid $25, went to go do their turtle tour. They told us both we could sit on their beds. The staff came over like a bat out of hell and said "its $25 to sit on there". Then came over at 3pm to tell us we could have a bed now, again, if we paid. I personally researched the Boatyard, and recommended it to the other 6 people in our group. For me and my wife however our day was totally ruined, the management and staff were appauling. I honestly wouldn't waste your money or time here. They really don't care at all!!!!
