There is also a museum here that is well worth a visit. It details the history of democracy on the island including the fight to abolish slavery.

The building facing the Parliament Building houses an exhibition about the 10 Heroes of Barbados. Admission is BD$10 (US$5), and this is interesting - but it includes a guided tour of both Houses Of Parliament which was excellent and well worth taking the time to...More

At the end of Broad Street in Bridgetown are the parliament buildings that date back to 1874. The parliament was founded in 1637 and has met regularly since 1639. Nice renaissance style buildings and there is a museum inside to visit.

All the attractions seem to be clustered around the river and independence and heroes squares which makes seeing them all very easy and convenient. Enjoy walking around these historical buildings.

Attractive building in the center of town with a beautiful clock tower. Didn't expect to see this with the beautiful marina right next to it. A mix of old with new. A good place to take some pictures.
