    Distillery Tour- fantastic guide
We done the 2 hour Distillery Tour at the Mount Gay site in St Lucy and had a great afternoon. On arrival, we were presented with a delicious rum punch and saw the different aspects of the rum production process. What made this tour special, was our guide. He was enthusiastic, engaging, interesting and professional. It was obvious that he was passionate about working for Mount Gay and was a great embassador for the company. The end of the tour is where the rum tasting happens- you'll get to try two different Mount Gay rums. Would recommend this tour, especially if you're a rum fan.
It was wonderful to have you experience Mount Gay with us. Thank you for you review, sounds like you've learnt alot from your guide and had fun while doing it. That is awesome, we will be sure to share this with your guide. Thank you for coming, hope to see you again.

VERY nice tour with better tour guides
The weather was HOT on the day of our tour. I had neglected to mention the footware requirement to my wife and daughter, so they were not able to do the walking tour. BUT... Romal stayed with them at the great house, and provided then with a "virtual" tour that matched the walking tour I did - plus, they got to stay in the air conditioning. Romal just make their visit that much more special with that personal touch that is hard to accomplish while walking with a group of people. Romal and my family connected on a more personal level as they were all into Pokemon. Akeel (our walking tour guide) was very knowledgeable about all of the things we saw and talked about. Even though it was hot outside, he made the tour an enjoyable experience.
Thank you for this review, wonderful to know the team was able and ready to go above and beyond to ensure you and your family could still experience Mount gay even if it was virtual. And from the sounds of it, sounds they had equally as much fun. This is great to know, Shall inform the team of their excellent work. We hope to have them back so they can see the process. We look forward to hosting you again.

    Well worth a visit.
A great, fun tour which is great value for money. The staff are friendly and explain the run making process well. The tasting session was really good fun and the cocktail on arrival was delicious.
Thank you for visiting us, we hope to have you back soon. Will also share with the team.

    Great tour
We had a great visit despite the rain we experienced, but we still saw everything and had a fantastic time. Tina, our host, was so lovely, informative, knowledgeable and helpful, and encouraged us to push our boundaries of what we knew about and expected rum to be. Thanks for a great visit!
It is always good to push the boundaries, happy Tina was able to open you up to a new experience in Rum. Thank you for visiting.

    Mount Gay Rum Tour
It was a return visit for us, this time with lunch which was excellent. Our guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable about Mount Gay and very entertaining too. My only regret was you no longer have any 1703 😢 which I was lucky enough to sample on our last visit 5 years ago 😋😁 .. all in all we had a fantastic time at the visitor centre 😁👍🏻
Great to have you back with us, experiencing one of the other tours. Happy you've enjoyed it, sorry about the 1703, but hopefully you were able to still pick up one our lovely rums to enjoy. We hope to have you back with us again soon.

Enjoyable tour and the run is excellent.
Enjoyable museum tour and cocktail experience . Akeel was excellent as the guide and drinking partner and Damian was a good cocktail mixologist . Well worth a visit and a very short ride from the port . Highly recommended
Thank you for your kind words, will be sure to share with the team. Wonderful to hear your experience was an enjoyable one, hope to have you with us again.

    Fun and tasty!!
I definitely recommend this!! The only thing I would do differently… sign up for the Cocktail Workshop early. It books up days/weeks ahead!! The tour is definitely worth $25. You are greeted by the bartenders and a Planter Punch cocktail while you wait for the tour to start! You will learn about the history, etc… Then you will have 4 generous samples! Your guide will explain how to drink/sip to release all of the flavors. It was very interesting! There are rums in the gift shop that you can only buy there. Thank you Akeel! Cheers
Thank you for your visit, it was our pleasure to host you. We hope you can return in the future for one of our cocktail Experiences, Looking forward to having you with us again, as you said book it well in advance.

Took a tour with Tina who was very funny and entertaining as well as knowledgeable. This is not a tour of the distillery but is still informative and tastings along the way. At the end you can use the ticket they give you for another free tasting or pay just $5 for a cocktail. Try the Blood Sweat and Tears, fantastic!

Just finished the “tour” and am disappointed. It wasn’t a tour as much as a rum punch, a 7 min movie, and three tastes of different bottles of rum,

No tour of the distillery. Did not see any manufacturing of rum.

If you want a few drinks for $20 and some description of what you’re drinking this is for you. If not, and you don’t drink you will be very disappointed.

Oh, and if you want to overpay for rum in the store you can buy 1703 Rum for $200 or you can go back to the States and buy it for $100. Choose wisely!

Four of us did a tasting only at Mt Gay. We had Adrian as our bartender. He was probably the best pourer we ever had. Friendly, entertaining, and very informative. We tried 5 different rums and a rum punch. All were tasty. A tasting for one person was $10 usd but definitely worth twice that for the generous pours. In fact, my wife and I split our tasting and still had enough. Great way to spend 45 minutes

Our guide was the highlight! He used every bit of two hours to make the tour riveting, light, but also thoroughly educational. We learned so much about the process and got to see it in progress, but also had the opportunity to taste different molasses used in the process, walk through every bit of the process, and learn to better taste and appreciate the various end products. Worth more than the cost, AND they send a shuttle to and from any hotel on the island so the trip is easy!

Follow the dress code and the recommendations (to bring a bottle of water, etc.) and take the shuttle to be on time.

Note the tour is in St. Lucy at the actual distillery; there is no gift shop there but there is a separate Mount Gay visitor center/gift shop in the Worthing area.

Being a visitor centre and not a distillery there isn’t a great deal they can physically show you here, and most of the information comes from a 10 minute film, but this is made up for by a great tour guide, Rumal, who kept a large group entertained for around an hour and made the trip totally worthwhile. We had a rum punch, 4 rum tasters, and discounts on cocktails at the bar which were very nice. I was slightly disappointed by the range and quality of mount gay products in the souvenir shop.

I toured the distillery as a part of their Premium Rum Flight Experience (not the visitors center). Romal was our tour guide and he alone is worth twice the admission even without the rum. I genuinely hold Mount Gay as some of if not the best rum in the world, and Romal's tour took it over the top.

If you are in Barbados, and you consider yourself a rum aficionado, take this tour, and hope Romal is your guide.

This isn't the actual distillery, but it's a great place to learn about how rum is distilled and especially the history of Mount Gay Rum. Our guide Zariah was the best! She was fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. (And also generous with the tasting pours!)

We went as part of a rum tour. I was kind of disappointed that the distillery wasn’t part of the tour, but we had just come from Foursquare, and that was enough. The guide for the tasting was just hilarious. I have rarely seen someone so skilled at controlling a large group. A different experience from Foursquare, and both were worth the visit.

Love Mount Gay rum, however the experience was muted in that we had hoped to see the distillery not simply a tasting session (which was nice). Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff but overall underwhelming for the price. Would implore anyone to triple check the small print of what you're actually paying for!

Oh My WORD! This was an unforgettable experience! From the beginning to the end the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. It is obvious that the craft of Rum making is a way of life for the individuals involved in the process. So much goes into preparing Rum and we loved being a part of making our own beverages on the tour. Tour guide Tasha (Sweet T) and bartender Adrian were amazing. I appreciate them sharing all their knowledge and expertise. Adrian had a disgruntled customer and handled the gentleman with grace and tact. He immediately rectified the customers concern, and did so with minimal interruption to our presentation.
