We booked a snorkeling trip with Tranquility online and it was one of the highlights of the trip. For only $35/p we met them in the morning, were treated to a free rum punch at a beach cabana, and then had a quick, informative orientation to the day. The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and just great guys that visibly love what they do. We ended up being the only ones that morning with the whole huge boat to ourselves and all the great staff focusing on us, so I think we lucked out. They took us to a couple shipwrecks first and the main guide knew almost all of the fish species and history of the wrecks. We then went to an area where we got to swim with two different species of sea turtles (greens and a hawksbill) and stingrays. They were also very respectful and sustainability oriented, which we really appreciated and valued. They provided the gear as well as some fresh fruit and more booze on board! They also gave us some great recs for lunch and the place we went afterward (Pirate's Cove) had an awesome Barbadian lunch buffet. These guys were fantastic in every way and we couldn't recommend them any more highly!

We booked a day with shabby by the bay and they included a trup out on a snorkel tour with tranquility cruises. When we first showed up I was bummed to see so many little kids and so many people (we tend to like to do smaller group snorkeling). When we got to the first stop I was instantly so glad we went out with tranquility. Not only did we see sea turtles and a wreck but the crew were so amazing. The guide personally took every single little kid out on a floatie to make sure they saw the turtles. Most companies around the world claim to be kid friendly but in all of my travels I have never seen a company really live up to that claim like tranquility. We didn't have any kids in our group but we still had a fantastic time. Not one person got off the boat let down and that speaks volumes to how well this company is!

We booked as a group of 9 including children the youngest being 5 and we had the best time. The crew of three made this snorkel trip memorable for all the right reasons. We saw turtles, barracuda, ray and lots of fish. Then to top this we did a wreck which was excellent. Visibility was excellent and the water was warm. Shout out to Mick! He was great especially with our kids as this was their first time. I highly recommend this and I am an experienced diver !

We booked the 1.5hrs cruise to see the turtles and shipwreck though our hotel. It was amazing and the staff excellent. We had two children. A staff member became our daughters boat taxi and took her to see the turtles and shipwreck. Very professional and ment we could also enjoy getting to see the turtles knowing she was safe
Our son did go in the water and taxi about a little but hes younger and not as confident as our daughter. It was amazing and highly recommend. Good value for money.

The boat felt safe, the drivers were fun, They did not guarantee turtles, but They brought food for them and knew where to atop the boat! They kept asking if everyone was okay, did everyone see a turtle, anyone want to go down the slide off the boat. It was an amazing experience. Ship wreck was cool, lots of fish; there were a few kids on the tour and they absolutely loved it- kept thanking the parents for bringing them! Served a few drinks on board. At the end they said ‘you can leave a tip but what’s most important is that you had fun!’

Tranquility Cruises was the best thing we did on our holiday. We booked transport from our hotel and our driver Glyn arrived punctually and was very friendly and informative about Barbados during our short journey to and from Bridgetown.
As soon as we started the boat tour itself, we knew it was going to be enjoyable as the men on board running the tour were very animated, entertaining and friendly. The tour did not disappoint at all. My daughter (7) actually became very nervous in the water (which she hadn’t been last year when we did a similar trip at Boatyard), but the organisers were very good and patient with her and calmed her and gave her a lifebuoy / ring to hold onto in the water which they kept hold of. They took safety in the water very seriously and were professional throughout. We swam with turtles, saw an amazing amount of fish at one of the shipwrecks. The boat itself was good and they also had a slide feature which was a lot of fun.
It was a great value trip and you could see that everybody on board really enjoyed it too. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I went through Tranquility Cruises to go snorkeling with Sea Turtles and then to go snorkeling over a shipwreck. This was an amazing experience. The Captain and the two guides that were on the boat were so amazing. The opportunity to go snorkeling with sea turtles was incredible. The guides also showed us sea cucumbers, star fish and we were able to see sting rays on the ocean floor (about 20 feet down). They require that everyone wear a life vest that could be blown up or not to accommodate individuals at their swimming level. I feel that I am a strong swimmer and did not need to have it blown up and did not get in my was of my experience.
If I come back to Barbados I would definitely return to them, and I highly recommend anyone to go through Tranquility cruises!

In Bridgetown, Barbados we went with young children through Tranqulity Cruises to see sea turtles and fishes as they advertised.
We haven't seen any fishes through the glas bottom of the ship as they promised, just one piece of sea turtle.
To our claim the answer was: 'we cannot ship further where the fish are'.
Snorkeling could have been possible but not with 2-3 years' old children. It was very disappointing.
The staff was minimum friendly and apologized.

We had booked the sea turtles trip with Tranquility Cruises on a previous trip to Barbados and had had such a good time that we rebooked with them this time. It was straightforward to book and we chose the option where they sent a taxi to collect us from our hotel and to provide the return journey after our trip. We paid about £35-40 each including transport. The boat is modern and well equipped (and , yes, there is a toilet on board). But the best bit is the team that look after you. They are fun but very knowledgeable and safety aware - so you know you are going to have a good time, seeing turtles and a huge variety of fish on the reef. One of our group is not a confident swimmer and they were very supportive. I would highly recommend a snorkelling trip in Barbados, especially with Tranquility Cruises.

Great short trip to swim with the turtles and snorkel over a sunken ship to see the sea life.
90 mins trip for a very reasonable price.
Swam with the turtles and saw a beautiful spotted eagle ray.
The crew were great and even sailed over a second sunken wreck so my wife who does not swim could see the fish and luckily a turtle through the glass bottom.
Excellent trip and great value.
Highly recommended.

Is it easy to get in the boat after you snorkel? I'm fat and snorkelling in the past, this was the hardest part.

Hi there, I am very overweight and I had no trouble. They will guide you as to the best way to get back on the boat. Go for it - it’s an amazing boat trip!

hi my daughter is afraid of rough waters - is the ocean rough?
Written January 14, 2018
Dear Kristine :)
Thank you for your question. The sea at Carlisle Bay is calm. We only have rough seas there in storms or a Westerly which is a weather event that causes a shore break.
