This is an old church with a beautiful decorated ceiling in light blue color. It has a big pipe organ but smaller than the one in the cathedral. This church is a UNESCO world heritage site and the second oldest consecrated site of Barbados. There is big graveyard around the church.

This is a beautiful church centrally located and feels rural. It was included in my walk around Bridgetown, easily reached from the cruise terminal.. It’s like being at home as this church is so like ours. A great place to discover a little history.

Built in 1825 on the site of the original  St. Michael's Church.  It is believed to be the oldest consecrated ground in the island, or second to St. James' Parish Church.  It was consecrated by Bishop William Hart Coleridge on July 27, 1827.  The Church contains one or two delightful memorial tablets of the Regency period and an elaborate Font, given by John Montefiore, a Jewish Merchant, in 1863.
Intersting to read the tombstones of yesteryear. In Bridgetown.

You enter the church from the road through the old cemetery and the exterior does look a little tired. Inside it is nice enough but not grand at all. The rounded ceiling appears to be made of plaster, quite different from St Michaels at the other end of town.
Still worth a short visit

Historic church in the centre of town and on route to Bridgetown Cruise Terminal. The church is very reminiscent of those found in England and has large graveyard attached, a clock and bell tower, a large organ and lots of wooden pews.

Another church built in the colonial style it stands out on the corner of Chapel St and is worth a visit. Accessible and easy to get around the grounds are stunning so take your time to stop off and make a visit. Alos reading the plaques on the walls gives you an insight to it's history.

Free entrance into the islands largest church. Not a great deal to see but good to soak up the atmosphere.

If you enjoying viewing historical churches or historical buildings in general this is a must see/do while in Barbados! The atmosphere inside inspires peace and tranquility and if you ask they have books about the church's history. Please be sure to make a donation for the restoration of this building though- as beautiful as it is now, I can only think of how gorgeous it will be when enough visitors and Bajans support its revival.

This church is in central Bridgetown. Many interesting old gravestones in the graveyard. Very easy to find and worth the visit.
