Came off the ship in the Dockyard and picked up the communal $7pp bus … which goes down and drops off right at the entrance. Public beach with no entrance fee and rest rooms … but everything else costs $$$.

Beach umbrellas/chairs ($15 each) and tents ($40) may be rented as you enter … but you need to get here early before they run out (which they did and there were no umbrellas by 11am when we got here).

If you stay in the entrance area of the beach where restaurant and rest rooms are … it’s super crowded just like the Jersey shore 😝 But take a walk further down to the left for some breathing room and there are even some smaller coves with beautiful beaches just beyond the rocks.

Maybe BYO small umbrellas/chairs and even cold drinks … as those could also set you back some ($8 beer/wine and $10-12 mixed/frozen drinks).

Still a beautiful beach and lots of room for everyone to have a great time!

I was on an NCL cruise to Bermuda and did a trip to Horseshoe Bay on my own. Right from the Dockyard we took a $7 mini bus. The mini buses are great, no need to pay for a personal taxi; just keep in mind that the mini bus leaves when it is full. Both the mini buses and the taxis will take you all the way down to the parking lot. The regular bus leaves you at the top and you need to take a wooden pathway all the way down to the beach. On the beach you can rent chairs and umbrellas for $10 each. There is also a bar and concession stand. It's a gorgeous place to visit. You can swim, walk along the beach and into a trail, or just lounge around. Really clean beaches and water.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this beach! Most likely because we headed straight to the right (alcove) instead of the open area straight ahead. Recommend spending the extra money for the tent on this one or any other beach on the island. The sun is fantastic but you will get burned without proper sunscreen and adequate shade. The umbrella is nice if you plan to be there 1 hour. To protect yourself, the tent is the way to go. The water and sand was simply wonderful with friendly staff. If you're on a shuttle tour, kindly return on time as requested. Otherwise take a taxi or bus to be at your leisure. Bring cash to tip the staff assisting with your chair, tent or umbrella setup. Don't forget your camera as you want to capture your memories.

Horseshoe Bay is a "must see" on everybody's list visiting Bermuda. Unfortunately, because of that, 3 cruise ships descended upon the beach making it extremely packed with hardly any place to sit. While it is beautiful, there are other beaches just as beautiful to visit if you find 3 ships in port! My only tip would be...go on Day 2 of your visit vs. Day 1. It might thin out by then. Also, they 'rent' chairs for $15 which were all sold out by the time we arrived. Bring a blanket as a backup and plan to sit on the beach. Lastly, if you take public transportation, the walk to the beach is quite steep and you'll be exhausted by the time you get there. Get a taxi...it's worth the money to take you right to the beach and avoid the steep walkway (which will get you walking back up!)

We were the first people on the beach, they set up our rented chairs&umbrella($45 total),
very close to the water. In one hour, the beach was packed ( cruise ship passengers), there were now people in front of us, & a couple lying on a towel between us, & surrounded within a few feet of us. We explored the far end of the beach that had less people (but no chair&umbrella service ),many tiny beaches but rough water. We unfortunately left after 2 hours due to the crowded situation.

We were staying at a nearby resort. It is beautiful but the water was rough the day we were there so wasn't great for swimming (we mainly swam in the cove off to the side which had tons of great fish!). There were a lot of cruise ship people there which was just not really what I was looking for in a beach experience in terms of number of people. I would recommend walking from Horseshoe toward Marley Beach to get away from the crowds. That is a really stunning walk and well worth it but I liked our hotel beach better (Pompano Beach) for swimming and relaxing. The food offered by the restaurant was passable but I would probably bring a picnic lunch instead if I had that as an options.

We visited this beach twice on our recent trip. First visit was close to perfect - slight breeze, clear water, plenty of spots to put beach umbrellas and chairs. Second day the water was pretty rough and lots and lots of coarse seaweed.

Be sure to bring your own towels or the buy then from the convenience store. Each beach chair and umbrella cost $10 - we ended up renting 3 chairs and 2 umbrellas as the sun is so intense.

Be sure to walk up and down the beach and explore all of the nooks and crannies.

Drinks and food for sale behind the little convent shop.

Truly a gorgeous, clean beach. We had our own little camp/beach chairs, which worked perfectly. Also brought little collapsible umbrella to shade. Just walk away from the crowds… night & day of walk few hundred yards. Lifeguard so sweet, scooping up man o war to prevent guests from being stung. The line for chairs was crazy. The ride back in the shared minivans was chaotic.. $7.. so if you are a family of 3 or more I’d do a taxi..
while we love horseshoe bay, overall Bermuda simply feels like a money grab with the fee to enter, TA documentation, port taxes & fees. Lost its charm in my opinion.

I was so disappointed, loud and crowded with umbrella and chair service, loud dance music coming from the bar, the ocean packed with swimmers at least at the early front etc. Yet, I get why families with kids would prefer it because providing services, as well as those looking for a fun beach day with booze and music. I am neither, and kept walking across the beach to the end, took the left path as I had read on reviews, and after a few mins walk we picked a beach cove to stop by and WOW I could not believe the difference. Only other three couples in the morning, and alone in the afternoon. We did not reach Jobson Cove, which will be our must in the next visit, but the place we had was out of a movie! White powdery sand, crystal clear water, same rock formations to get shade reprice, no one else after lunch time! So if seclusion beach time is your thing, keep walking, so many little or large coves to experience how I see paradise at the beach. We were there on a Friday morning.

Very disappointed. Caters to cruise ship population now. First day we visited A cruise ship was docked in Bermuda. A zillion people and chairs and umbrellas for rent everywhere! Waited in line for a drink at the small bar for over 30 min. Went back 2 days later hoping to find it less crowded as the cruise ship had left. Wanted to relax with a chair and drink. Guess what… CLOSED!! Of course the beach was open but nothing else! No chairs to rent no bar open . So we learned that if you are staying on the island in one of the hotels or cottages and spending a lot per night Horseshoe Bay does not care about you! Only if you are part of a big cruise ship. So either go when zillions of people are there and you can’t even see the beach and blue water due to all the chairs OR go when no cruise ship is in and sit on your own towel with your own bottled water. Even drive by on Saturday and even though it was a weekend still closed as no ship in. Thanks to whoever is running things there. Very disappointed.
