Just returned from a cruise on the NCL Joy from NYC to Bermuda. This excursion was so much fun - the staff ( Michael, Buoy & Paprika ) were great - very informative, funny, and helpful. The catamaran was docked a short walk from the ship. 30 min. sail to a beautiful cove/beach where you could snorkel, kayak, paddle board or swim for almost 2 hours. The boat was really nice too - with great rum swizzles! I highly recommend this excursion. It was one of the highlights of our trip

Captain Mike and his team were outstanding, entertaining and committed to everyone’s safety and well-being. Cruise was offered through NCL and delivered all that was promised. Short walk from the ship to the RS was “on time” and efficient. This set the stage for a great trip! 30 minute cruise to beautiful beach/cove snorkeling area was only exceeded by Captain Mike’s story telling of Bermuda’s history, strategic importance in wartime and pirates of yesteryear were informative but delivered with levity. We swam/snorkeled/floated seeing lots of various fish and even a school of reef squids. Highly recommend this cruise for convenience, value and the “experience” delivered by Mike and crew .

We are a few weeks from taking the NCL Joy to Bermuda. Second time to Bermuda. First time was the NCL Dawn out of Boston a few years back. I am a consummate planner and researcher. I have learned the hard way (and spent way too much) on cruise and resort run excursions so now I book my own. My rate of success has been exceptional since I started doing this and relying on advice from other trusted and experienced travelers. I need to give back to this community with my own review because so many people have helped me make choices along the way. Time on vacation is short - I want to get as close as I can to guaranteed pleasure. Rising Son Catamaran was fantastic! We did not book through NCL and saved $120+ for 3 people. Book direct!!! Sooo easy to book online. The boat is docked right by the taxis. You walk right off the ship down to the area where all the transportation is located and there is a small building to check in. Easy. I will 100 percent do this again when I return to Bermuda. Captain Steve and his crew did a great job keeping everyone entertained. Water was amazing. There were several catamaran companies to choose from. I am really pleased with my choice of Rising Son. It was the kind of laid back, not jam packed, fun time I was looking for. This was not the drunken day cruise ie. Cancun to Isla with people vomitting all over the place. What made this experience stand out for our family (adults & teens)?? Boat was big, sleek, clean, and we were not all crowded. We could walk around easily. Other guests were polite and friendly. All of the crew were from Bermuda, well traveled, concerned about safety, super fun and really took their time to get to know people and what they were looking to do. It has been a long time since someone took an interest in what people were looking to do rather than some prescribed (boring) plan. The crew managed a multitude of ages - families, a group of solos, a few couples on their honeymoon ... Not one pain in the butt or gripe. A lady who was in her senior years told me she loved that the ride was smooth. An 11 year old who used every piece of equipment (paddleboards, kayaks, etc) they had told me it was his best day that summer. Cliff jumping, diving off the boat, snorkeling, exploring... lots of fun for swimmers no matter their level of expertise. That cold beer on a hot day while we were swimming in the ocean was like a piece of heaven for this overworked Mom. I read all the reviews on Rising Son and Captain Steve in every forum on the net. He was truly remarkable. A real straightshooter (not goofy) who had us all laughing. He took the time to answer questions from everyone. I appreciated his patience with the children who had so many things they wanted to know about the Island - from the vegetation to the education system. The crew were also very engaging and were not ignoring one set of guests over another. Crew culture was inclusive and enjoyable - very similar to Bermuda itself. Yes, I recommend the shot ski and the Rum Swizzle was pretty good. I went expecting swill. I was delightfully surprised. This was a great day and a memory that will last for our family. I saved good money booking directly and that can help in Bermuda. This day was so good - that I did my first Tripadvisor review. Enjoy your time in Bermuda - treat yourself because it is truly as lovely as it sounds.

We booked this excursion through NCL & it was definitely the highlight of our vacation. The kids had some first time experiences and i snorkeled for the first time. Max & his crew were extremely informative and helpful, especially when my son accidentally broke the snorkeling gear 🫣. Thankfully he was not harmed and we all had such an amazing time. Thank you all so much!
