Small beach frequented by locals. Clear water and calm waves make for a peaceful day at the beach. This beach has no frills... No bathrooms, concession stand, etc so be sure to pack light snacks and water if you plan to spend the day here. Located directly off of the #1 bus it's easy to access and not over crowded.

This beach is immediately accessible from bus stops in/out of Hamilton. We visited as the sun re-emerged following a heavy over night rain storm. The colours were magical: the pristine sands, the clear blue water and the bright blue sky with wispy cloud. We had the beach to ourselves apart from one other couple. We visited the day before Bermuda... More

I went to Bermuda on a cruise ship and it was nice to find a beach that wasn't overly crowded. They say it's pink sand but it's hard to tell. It's a beautiful beach with lots of interesting rock formations and walkways around it for photo opps. There is also a changing room and bathroom right in the beach.

This was a nice beach.it is right off the #1 bus.crystal clear water, quiet but yet on a main road.not popular with tourists so it shouldnt be loud. I did not see facilities or food or much else to do in the area. If youre interested in just the beach and dont want to walk much then its good for... More

The beach is very popular with both tourists and locals. It is actually a beach that has special memories of my youth when we used to have our family picnic there every end of summer. John Smiths Bay beach is named after Captain John Smith, an explorer who first produced a map of Bermuda. in 1631. You can see lots... More

This beach is truly a Bermudian's beach. There aren't much in the way of facilities, but the beach is small and nice enough. This is a good place to visit if you want to hobnob with Bermudians and not other tourists.

Just a wonderfull small beach...quiet...small waves and a great place for a late day picnic. Right on the bus route that runs on the South side. A favorite with locals.

We stopped here on our ride of the entire island. Beautiful beach and not crowded. Did have a life guard. Awesome place to cool off in the water and enjoy the fine powder sand.

John Smith's Bay was about a half hour walk from our airbnb rental cottage so were lucky to see the beach twice on our stay in Bermuda. The beach is secluded and small, a perfect combination for when you want to escape the crowds on the other beaches but still get the same experience. The water is clear and the... More

What a great little beach, with great parking! Had crystal blue sea and white sand! Not crowded and really relaxed. Only problem I couldn't find a shower!
