Did not actually visit the museum as it was closed when we visited but we walked around the town and thoroughly enjoyed the original architecture and lovely Catholic church as the many murals on the walls in downtown. This is a unique town and clearly different from everything else we saw in Aruba after 2 weeks of traveling all over the island

We were in San Nicolas early after taking the bus from Oranjestad. (4.50 Floran) The curator met us as we entered and let us know right away the cost was $5US. That was cheap. We immediately went back in time from the barber chairs, wardrobe, old suitcases, 2 rooms full of old artifacts from Aruba with 3 other rooms not yet set up but items there which we were amazed to see. The Curator also explained everything to us. Don't miss this!

Wow San Nicholas was the heart of Aruba before tourism in Oranjestad. It was a treat to see so many things and photos of people who created commerce and art in San Nicholas. It is a small museum that shows the heart of the Aruban people.

As we were getting off the public bus in San Nicolas, someone suggested the community Museum right accross the street from the bus station. We deceided to look it over before we sought out "Charley's Bar" for lunch. The small free two room collection was great. The rooms contained memoribelia from the " old days" of Aruba and was explained by Roy who seemed to know many of the subjects. It's not the MET but it was fun

We had a lovely tour of the museum with friendly guides , for just $5 each.
It’s a beautiful building and it’s lovely and cool inside
We saw so many things from days gone by and I would recommend everyone to visit when they are at San Nicolas
You only need about an hour and afterwards we had a cool Balashi ( beer) in the cafe

Gave 5 stars simply to bring awareness to the museum. It was small but educational. It is free and donations are welcome.

The San Nicolas Community Museum tells the story of the people of San Nicolas which was the center of Aruba before the degvelopment of tourism in Oranjestad. It is housed in what was a store with living quarters above. The original tiles are on the floor and the artfully staged exhibits with original artifacts share the history of the store and The residents of the community. You can feel the history within the walls. The experience was enhanced by the tour guides and the commitment of the guides to sharing the history and spirit of Aruba.

The community museum is quaint and antiquated.
The history of the antiquainted apparatus used in earlier times of mankind existence are amazingly well kept and explained. the staff is knowledgeable and please ask about the other local museum which is just minutes away from each other as it explains how the island of Aruba came to be known as "one happy island" .The latest technological equipment in capturing the reviews of real people who contributed to the success of the population of Aruba. Different people /different color in one Nation living in peace
