Tha murals are so nice to see, some of the buildings have so much detail some are simple. An easy stroll on your own, quaint little town. The visitor Center was so helpful to explain where to go! They have a very interesting statuette in front of them. Lots of history in the town a museum to see as well if interested.

This was my second time to see the murals in San Nicolas. The first time was in 2017, shortly after the art festival that put many of them up. Now it's 2023, and many more murals have been added both in and out of the festival, which ran again before being derailed by COVID. There are now over 50 murals. The styles range from trompe l'oeil to surreal to indigeno-techno. It's very easy to get to San Nicolas from Oranjestad: the main bus station in Oranjestad is very close to the cruise ship terminal. Right now it costs US $5 for a round trip card, and there is a bus that makes some stops along the way but takes you to the main bus station in San Nicolas. At the bus station in San Nicolas is a very clean restroom and the station is open until 4pm. Across from the station is the San Nicolas Information Center, and they can give you a map of the murals as well as other info. The map they gave us today has 45 murals marked, but there are actually more of them to discover as you go! Plus there are also interesting public sculptures. 90% of the murals can be seen in a three block by three block area, with the other 10% just 2-3 blocks further over. Put on your sunscreen and wander up and down for an hour or two, grab a beer at the famous Charlie's Bar, and catch the bus back to Oranjestad.

The street art here is very cool. There are approximately 50 murals painted in a few blocks of the downtown area. There’s an Aruba visitors center, right in front of the statue a woman, they’ll give you a map with each of the murals listed by location and title. The national library is also in the middle of it & covered in murals too. Unfortunately, due to COVID almost all of the shops were closed. A Caribbean restaurant is open as was a coffee shop. This is definitely worth a visit. You can do all of it easily within hour.

This tour was amazing! After a decade plus of coming to this one Happy Island we learned more about Island history art and culture than ever before. Tito was so knowledgeable, passionate, personable and could of not been more accommodating. This is a definite must when you visit Aruba!

What an admirable local effort to use art to beautify the town! I'm no artist but when someone can create such realistic murals on aging stucco walls, I stand impressed. The map from the tourist office was very helpful to make sure we didn't miss any. It took about 30 minutes of casual strolling to see the collection. Additionally the mosaic art on many benches is also worthy of attention during the tour.
If you add in Seroe Colorado, Baby and Rodger Beaches and the pet cemetary, its a great day!
This town is a quick drive from Oranjestad and well worth the time.

I loved walking around and seeing the murals. I am sure I missed a few, but saw the majority on the main street. They are gorgeous. I especially loved the angel wings that were very near the gas station. Simply beautiful. The art is unique and full of culture. I found the visitor center to be closed around 3pm on a Thursday. Guess that is a Covid thing. I would have really enjoyed getting the map and artist names as mentioned in a previous review. The area surrounding the main street is a little sketchy, but we never felt unsafe at all. I would recommend the short drive down to San Nicolas for anyone who loves art.

I took the walking tour and it didn't disappoint. The tour goes in detail on how the murals are painted and some of them are 3D so wouldn't get the full effect without knowing. Regardless with or without a tour it is a must see. I lived it.

Worth the trip! I wish more shops were open, but it is Covid times. At least O'Niels and few places were open. Easy to walk around and see the art. When we were tired out we jumped in the car and explored a lit bit more, and saw several other murals.

This was right up my alley! I love murals! It was great to view the sculptures and murals throughout the city. I believe I missed a few because I didn't walk down a back street-feet were hurting. Make sure comfortable shoes are worn.

It only took about 90 minutes to walk around and take photos. We missed a couple, but saw the majority of the murals. A stop at the visitors center provided a detailed map of titles and locations. They are beautiful and well worth the time to see them.

There is plenty to do in Aruba. Scuba diving and snorkeling, all kinds of water sports, the beaches are fabulous, Arikok National Park, Hiking, and much more. Aruba is very safe. Hope this helps.

Is there a map of all the street murals, so we can visit on our own?

No map that I know of, but the two is very small and most of the murals are in and around the center.
Very easy to visit on your own. If you need any guidance, walk into the sports bar on the Main Street! They certainly know and can help.
Enjoy!!
