Whenever we go the Caribbean - snorkeling is our thing to do with family. It’s a great way to explore the reefs. This is located near Boca Catalina and Atashi beach. There were a couple of sandy areas to enter the water, but if you have water shoes wear them, but not necessary. We brought our own gear and had two pool noodles, for 4 of us, I like to have them , although my 13 year old boys did not use them. The water is calm. This is an area where all the excursions go to snorkel, much cheaper to go on your own. There is a roped off section where boats are unable to go. Definitely worth going for an hour or more and next to it is Boca Catalina which is even better.

We walked from our hotel to Malmok beach and it took approximately 30 minutes to go and 30 minutes to come back. We really enjoyed our walk.
It has a sidewalk on the street after the Ritz Carlton hotel and a lot of people were there walking and running. Take some water to not get thirsty!

We were a short walk to Malmok Beach from our AirBnB. We chose to snorkel at a cove that's bounded by a rope to keep the boats away. I believe it's called "Greenberg's Cove" on Google Maps. The snorkeling was the best I experienced on the island, and the best I'd experienced in the 7-8 places I've snorkeled in my life (including Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii!).
We saw a young sea turtle and a couple tuna. Be sure to explore the "center" of the roped off area, where thousands of fish in schools seem to take their naps.

We tried to snorkel at this beach with a private tour guide. I have been to Mexico and DR, and had good snorkeling experiences at both, but the waters are calmer and the winds are lower, and it's easier to snorkel. I am a beginner, and not at all experienced. But I don't want to miss out on any experiences, so I tried it at Malmok beach (where the ladder is). If you go, TAKE SHOES of some kind, water shoes or sandals, it is rocky and the rocks KILL your feet. No joke. My son (20) went with me, and I'm 56, and I'm not a sissy, but I tried it. I think the tour guide should have told me to wear shoes, but I had to come back in and put my shoes on. The waters in Aruba push you around, and the wind is strong, which makes snorkeling harder, in my opinion. I did not see any fish at all, and I more struggled than anything. The water was warm though and beautiful. Maybe it was just the time we went, but the snorkeling was disappointing at best. Spend your money more focused on other tours, not just snorkeling, unless you are a strong swimmer and can handle the rough waters, even with a life vest it was choppy.

This was one of the best spots we found to snorkel...saw starfish, a variety of fish and one time, 5 turtles all together on the bottom of the ocean not too far out from the beach. There is only a small beach area to enter into the water here meaning the water is clearer here.

Snorkeling at the Baboo wreck is a wonderful thing to do. It is shallow so also for the lesser snorkelers a nice exercise and beautiful clear water with many fish and the occasional pelican. The first 50 meters walk over some rocky stones.

We stayed at a vrbo right across the street. Had no idea how lucky we were til we arrived. Could walk across the street and snorkel, fish or swim. And watch a beautiful sunset every night!

Title says it all. A local beach that welcomes visitors. The water is absolutely beautiful. It's a great place to go kayaking or just going in for a dip. You can also lay out here, but it's more of a beach to go in the water and enjoy!

I loved staying here. Easy access to the beach and the pools were super clean. Casino, gym, restaurants, bar, right across from the super food store. A couple neat little shops. Definitely will stay again

I visited a lot of beaches during my stay. This ended up being my favorite. Expansive. Not too windy. Not too crowded. Relatively calm water. The only issue is that public access is not immediately obvious, but you can walk through the resort buildings to access the beach. Just don't use their' furnishings.

No taxis are not expensive but do arrange the cost before getting in so its then a set price rather than meter

I am visiting Aruba next week 9/25 to 10/1/16 and was told there is a good bonefish flat not far from my hotel the marriotte surf club. I was wondering exactly where it is I should go. I will be doing unguided fly fishing for bonefish or any other fish that will take a fly. I heard the flat is near the Ritz hotel.

I am not into fishing but I stayed at the Ritz and did run along the coast all the way to the California Lighthouse. I saw people fishing along Hadicurari and Malmok Beach. It is about 1 to 1.5 miles north of the Ritz. If you drive, plenty of parking along the road and the beach. Seems to be a lot of locals between these beaches so you may get better first-hand information. Have fun!

How far away is this beach from the Holiday Inn Resort? Can you rent snorkels from here or do you have to bring your own?

Always have your own snorkels with you. You will have much more fun on the island cause there are at least 20 other snorkel spots where you just walk in the water from shore. And it is 5 minutes away from holiday inn by car. 15 min by foot.
