This is not the "saint Franciscus church " (that is located in Oranjestad). This is the Alto Vista Chapel. Oldest chapel on the island, the original chapel build in 1750 was funded by a wealthy lady in the neighborhood. It's used for mass on Sunday if I'm not wrong. And locals go there for prayers any given day of the... More

We rented UTV and drove around to explore. The highlight of the exploration was finding the Chapel. It was simply one of the more spiritual moments in my life.

The chapel was quaint and in an interesting locale. Very simple but nice. Not sure how frequently it is used by individuals who live on the island. Having a car made it a reasonable excursion to make.

This beautiful chapel is something to behold and to light a candle and offer up a prayer while you are there! It is a historical site that should not to be missed if you visit Aruba!

We were so fortunate to have struck a friendship with our hosts at our accommodations at My Little Caribe. They are a wonderful Aruban born couple, educated in America. One day during our 13 day stay our hosts invited us on a tour of the island in their personal car. Wow, we were blown away by their generosity. Our first... More

This is the church also shown as Alto Vista Chapel. It is a rebuilt version, but very nicely done. Don't miss the twelve crosses, stations of the cross, along the roadside as you drive in.

This was a very beautiful and serene place to visit. A very small chapel, the inside is decorated beautifully. It provides a place to sit and meditate or offer a prayer or two.
