- Jessica R6 contributionsFirst time!!!This place really gives you the history of the butterflies! It was nice to see them flying all over with their vibrant colors. I even learned a couple of things I didn't know about butterflies. I won't spoil it! Lol! You should take the time to visit the butterfly farm.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 4, 2023
- Will JHolt, United Kingdom152 contributionsA go to experienceWe love visiting the butterfly farm everytime we holiday in aruba! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and seeing the butterfly's at different times of the day meant we saw hatching and restful behaviour. They were gorgeous in colour and a huge variety to see!Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 8, 2023
- Mary GBuffalo, New York15 contributionsGreat animals, and plants!A great destination for lovers of flora and fauna. Very knowledge “tour guides” start off by describing some basic biology and the life cycle of butterflies, and then you are able to wander about the enclosure at your leisure. One butterfly landed on us! Very cute gift shop and cafe - recommend the homemade lemonade to cool down. Awesome additional features: huge variety of plants within the enclosure, a resident parakeet named “Dorito,” and small pond with Koi fish!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 8, 2023
- Carly BPrinceton, New Jersey6 contributionsAMAZINGLoved loved loveddddd! Was greeted when we walked in the door and the lady was very patient with us while we figured out our plan. We got to look around the garden before our 20ish minute tour started. The lady that did our tour was very knowledgeable and could tell she loved being there. Unfortunately it started raining while we were there but the staff gave everyone umbrellas to keep dry. Fee is about 16-19 dollars a person however it comes with a free pass to come back within that same trip so I would suggest doing in the beginning of the trip! Keep it up staff you’re killin it. I’ll be back later this week!Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 12, 2023
- Annamarie HLethbridge, Canada68 contributionsBest thing everAmazing! Probably one of the best things I've done or seen on a vacation. Our guide Josh was informative and willing to answer any questions. So many species to watch and photograph. I love that they give you a return pass to we can go back later in the day when the butterflies are less active. Very very glad we went and highly recommend it. - Katherine F5 contributionsCute ExcursionIt's a fun little excursion if you are into nature and butterflys/moths. It was part of our bus tour. And you can actually learn fun details. Our butterfly Guide had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. Safe space to go with kidsVisited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 20, 2023
- Virgil HJackson, New Jersey202 contributionsA very pleasant experienceThis is a great way to spend a couple of hours when you are ready to get off the beach or out of the pool. Kids and adults are fascinated by all the butterflies, some just might land on you. They also have a small gift shop and snack bar.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 22, 2023
- Dave E7 contributionsLearn about butterfliesThere are a lot of butterflies there. I mean a lot. They are flying all over the place, especially the blue ones. Kids will love it. Our guide was also great with explaining how the butterflies are kept and how they mate and grow.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 7, 2023
- David HLas Vegas, Nevada24 contributionsA "MUST SEE" when you are in Aruba!A Relaxing and educational experience. Worth the time spent. Exotic butterflies galore. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful; many have been there several years. The owner (Tony) was on site when I was there, talking to the guests. If you are in Aruba for several days, make this one of your first stops. You can ask for a ticket so you can return as many times as you like FREE, for the rest of your visit. I went 3 times during my one week stay. Inexpensive, and worth spending time in a relaxing and beautiful spot.Visited August 2023Traveled soloWritten December 11, 2023
- souldancer2Minneapolis, Minnesota407 contributionsA place for beauty and Zen!Though a little pricier than some butterfly sanctuaries, it was also a little cheaper than others. We've been to smaller and we've been to bigger but what made this stand out was the educational tour they offer with the butterfly farm. The place is very Zen, the tour guides knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 1, 2024

The butterfly farm is a small attraction, but well worth the time. The staff here are so knowledgable about butterflys, that we learned many things about them we never knew. This summer my backyard will be getting a butterfly bar, lol. I think the entrance fee is a bit steep, but it did give us unlimited visits at no further cost, and we did go back for a second visit.

I thought that I'd title this review disappointing but underwhelming fits better. It's not cheap to get in and if you love butterflies it is totally worth it. Our entrance started with a 20 min introduction (they call it tour but it is a guide talking to you in the same spot). It was 20min because we left to wander since it was dragging on way too long. After that we were out of there in 10min. Besides seeing the same sets of butterflies flying around and taking some pictures there isn't much more to it.
I wouldn't do it again unless they lowered the price. They let you come back again for free but again what's the point if you weren't blown away on your first visit.

We stopped at The Butterfly Farm on a very hot afternoon. The heat made it harder to enjoy the visit as it is really humid inside, but the tour guide was really fun and shared interesting info about the garden and the butterflies. Overall, considering the small size of the garden, I think the entry ticket is a bit too pricy but overall is nice experience if you have some free extra time to spend in Aruba

Away from all the commercial bustle, the ARUBA BUTTERFLY FARM is close, gorgeous, and fun for kids and adults. A peaceful oasis with many beautiful butterflies which are explained up close by the fun, knowledgeable guide who spent 20-30 minutes with our little group of 15 guests in this small paradise. Inexpensive admission fee (under $20) and just a 12 minute taxi ride for $16 fare from cruise dock. You could also take the local bus up to Palm Beach.

We looked into visiting the Butterlfly Farm prior to our trip and expected to pay $16 each for admission plus cab fare. We ended up booking a half day bus tour that included the natural bridge and the chapel for I don't remember exactly how much it was but it was a great deal. We may have stopped somewhere else along the way.

If you appreciate nature, you should stop by. Enjoy the color. The $16 admission is reasonable, you get a good explanation of the life cycle of the butterfly. You can walk there from the Riu and the Hilton. After the tour, you only need another 15-20 mins to walk about and see the gift shop.
Tip: stop by in the morning, apparently the butterflies are more active.

I was initially upset about $16 per person, till the tour started. Joshua (heavy set male with tattoos) gives great detail about the butterflies and will cut jokes along the way, in a very relaxed mannor. Being able to return again for free also makes this a quality outing. (The title indictates what we got to see and the picture proves it)

The Butterfly Farm has many types of butter flies that are in a protected netted area. Your entry fee ($16/person) includes a guided tour, where you will get to see and learn many cool things about these creatures. It was a very nice calming experience. Taking about calm, if you are interested check out their meditation session hours on Wednesdays. Free parking is available and they have a little shop where you can purchase souvenirs and get a soft drink to enjoy!

The curated tour and information here are totally amazing. There were over 25 species of butterflies and moths and beautiful canaries. It is 16 dollars a person for the tour but you can have unlimited visits for the week. Worth supporting

Haven’t been back for at least 6 years and forgot how great this place is. The tour is incredibly informative and the farm is heavenly. Next year we will go at the beginning of our trip as one can return for free as many times as you want after the first admit is paid. Will recommend to our friends who come to visit.

HI, Is it far from the Oceania Condos and do we have to take a taxi or can we catch a bus?
Thanks in advance!
Written June 25, 2024
I believe it's about a 35 minute walk but you can catch a bus.
I would recommend visiting in the morning when the butterflies are more lively.

Hi,
Exactly how far is it from the cruise port to the butterfly farm?
Written August 21, 2023
Take a taxi and it will be reasonable to make it to the butterfly garden and back to your cruise in a good time frame.

Are there any tours of the island that include the Butterfly Farm?
Written January 16, 2021
I am not sure about tours going in there..may be some little ones do.
SinceThe Butterfly Farm and the island itself are quite small, if you have a car or 4x4, it is so easy to just stop by there an spend may be an hour max to get to see it.
We were not sure how to get there and didn’t have a connection, so we just downloaded Google Maps offline for Aruba and used the navigation like that everywhere.

Admission is $16, but you can revisit for the whole time you
are in Aruba. They ask what your last day there is and mark your admission ticket. They also have one day that is early morning yoga (6:30 am) in among the butterflies.

When is the best time to visit/ time butterflies are most active? Thank you
Written May 30, 2019
The butterflies are most active first thing in the morning. As the day wears on the get more and more “drunk” on the sugary nectar they consume. They then become more sluggish and less active. I found this to be a better time for good closeup photos. Your entrance fee is good for anytime and as many times as you’d like to visit during the week!!

We stayed about an hour, and that included the tour and taking LOTS of pictures.
