- Previa1994Chicago, Illinois6,648 contributionsWonderful AdventureWe stopped at Casibari Rock Formations on a driving tour of Aruba. Getting there took some slow driving through residential areas. There are two rock formations here on either side of the parking lot. The one starting from the nearby Bar & Grill is short and gives a taste of the views from the top of the rocks. The other one starting on the opposite side is much higher and more adventurous. One has to be careful when going through the boulders to avoid bumping hazards. The views from the top are breathtaking. We get a full and spectacular view of Hoiberg mountain, the tallest in Aruba. The Bar & Grill at the parking lot is very accommodating with tourists as they offer shaded seating freely. The Casibari Rock Formations in Aruba are a wonderful adventure on a tour of Aruba. Don't forget to see the Dinosaur rock!Visited February 2023Traveled with friendsWritten December 31, 2023

There is a cafe there for cool drinks. No public restrooms but you can use the cafe restrooms for a fee or for free if you buy refreshments. Free to enter and well worth visitingVisited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 4, 2024

Our tour guide took us to this popular geological wonder for a brief visit. Scientists still are baffled as to how these massive tonalite boulders ended up in this piled on formation. Use caution while navigating the wooden steps to the top of the largest set. The masonry stairs are straighter, but with metal hand rails that get rather hot in the mid-day sun. Either way, it's a nice view at the top. Other boulders with steps to climb. Trails in a cactus garden to explore. Saw an unusual bright green Iguana. This is a free experience.
There is a Cafe' and gift shop near the entrance. They charge 1$ to use their nice clean restrooms. The ones in the site were locked, and our guide said they are nasty anyway. It was not crowded during our visit, making it all the more enjoyable.

Stopped by on the way back from visiting the Donkey Sanctuary. The steps on the side facing the parking lot are easier to climb, but you have to duck underneath some boulders to get to the top. On the back side, no boulders in your way, but the stairs are steep. Great views from the top. Afterwards, have a cold beer at the restaurant across the street and buy some items at the cute shop next door.

Taking the Best of Aruba Tour we visited the Casibari Rock Formations and had a walk about. Not having an appreciation for Aruba it was amazing how barren , dry and desert this area was. I didn't journey all the way to the top but was impressed with the environment.

Everyone in our party (1 to 63) had fun climbing and exploring over and under the rock formations. The site is bigger than what you see in the pictures. From the highest point, you get a nice (and windy!) view of the surroundings. We even saw a cute Shoco family of 3!

Take good shoes. Our tour guide brought us here. (about 30) It is well worth the effort to see. Gave us a great view of the island. Take your time and with a little care you can make it to the top of this 45 foot tall rock.

My wife and I took in a visit to the rock as part of an island tour and enjoyed the short stop off. Our tour guide provided an interesting insight into this natural wonder. Strange experience ascending to top and admiring the view. Very windy and quite difficult to navigate. Interesting experience nevertheless.

Steps were a bit steep but seemed to be good for all ages. I went through the cave going in and down the steps coming off. It was like 200 degrees there. lol The locals were saying it never gets this hot here and you know how rocks hold heat... I'm glad I did the climb. You can see a lot of Aruba up there. You can find videos on youtube if you wish to check it out beforehand.

It is advisable to go in the morning since it is very hot during the day.
You can climb and have a beautiful view of the surroundings, the place is beautiful. I recommend driving to stay as long as necessary. There's a restaurant across the street.
