We were headed from English Harbour to St John on Antigua and decided to check out Shirley Heights before the slow run to the town. Glad we did. Fantastic views, well kept landscaping and even though we only stayed 15 or 20 minutes considered it...More

Definitely a gorgeous view but very crowded and not really anywhere to sit and enjoy. Long lines to get food and drinks. We went on the Sunday and that could have been why there was a big crowd go on a off day no crowds....More

We arrived shortly after 3, we did some sightseeing and photos before crowds got there. We dined elsewhere but all the food smelled amazing. We highly recommend it, the steel band was amazing!

It is pretty crazy at Shirley Heights on a Sunday! Arrive at about 5pm to hear a steel band of 30 people playing all the familiar songs we love, people are drinking rum punch and dancing until the sunsets over the hill. Then a live...More

If you want to avoid the massive crowds taxied across the island to this event then go on Thursday for a quieter view of sunset accompanied by the timpani of steel drums. (Also free rather than the xcd25 charged on Sunday) But if this is...More

My wife and I attended the evening party at Shirley Heights. The food and drinks were wonderful! The music and dancing really set the mood and we had a great time. The sunset and views are unforgettable. We look forward to returning to this treasure!

An old navy watch point, with historic ruins of the old Block house Shirley Heights is worth a visit for it's breathtaking views of the south of the island. There is a small shop selling refreshments and souvenirs at the top.

This is a great place to look down at Nelson Dockyards. The view is beautiful, even if rainy and with a storm rolling in.

We were told the best place to be in Antigua was Shirley heights for their famous Sunday BBQ's. We were also told that locals and tourist alike flock to this every Sunday event for entertaining music, tasty BBQ food and beautiful view. With all of...More

The above says it all. The Steel Orchestra was BRILLIANT! the reggae band which followed was OK, but be warned, there are a sufficient number of people spilling their drinks all over the shop to attract the local mosquitoes, which will bite you (or your...More

Yes you can stop there. There is a charge if you go on an evening that is set up with a BBQ and steel band, but that's only in the evening the rest of the time it's free
