We were met by Nellie Beazer, who was to be our competent tour guide and driver, and she really took good care of us. She was content to impart knowledge about her islands in a very amicable manner, which was easy to listen to and take in. We were taken to an early chapel dating to the late 17 hundreds, then a substantial fort with outstanding views, and given plenty time to wander round different sections of this which were distributed over a large area. We then visited what is now called Nelson's Dockyard, which is an absolute gem of a place. On the return leg the plan had been to visit a beach, however, roads were congested and Nellie took the wise decision to reroute. Although Nellie is not originally from Antigua she is clearly very much an islander, very proud of the history and heritage, and knowledgable, she is an exemplary mother, a beautiful lady and clearly respected by others. Some day we would like to revisit Antigua and hope Nellie will be available

Nellie of Unique Island Tours was kind enough to let us join her tour when the tour we booked did not show it. This turned out to be a true blessing. Nellie was great! She gave us a great tour of the island with lots of history and information. She was extremely well informed. She did her best to meet the needs of everyone on the tour. We stopped at Jolly Beach on the way back to our ship. I would definitely recommend this tour. Thank you Nellie!

Nellie was so accommodating and her genuine sweetness came through very clear in the email exchanges we did. It was just my husband and myself in a very comfortable vehicle with one of the nicest and polite young man named Marley. He drove us anywhere we desired and told us all about his beautiful Island. I was slightly disappointed that I did not get to meet Nellie and at the very end of our day, Marley looked up and said, “looks like Nellie is right behind us” and as soon as I saw her, her smile and beautiful spirit shone brightly and we hugged. Nellie and Marley are both highly recommended by us. Take a chance and venture away from the typical cruise ship excursion and give her a try!

My sister and I visited the Island of Antigua during their carnival season. On our last day on the Island we decided late in the morning to go on an Island tour. We jumped on Travel Advisor and made few phone calls and was turned down. But then we called Nellie, and she agreed to take us out! Nellie was more than amazing! She gave us the real history of the island as we toured and took pictures. We were able to visit Shirley Heights, Nelson's Dockyard, a trip through the rainforest and more. Nellie was soooo sweet she stopped twice on our trip. Once to get some ginip and another time to allow us to taste the famous black pineapple! I can't tell you how appreciative I am of Nellie, and her warm character and her big heart! Thank you sooooo much Nellie for booking us last minute and making us fall in love with the Island of Antigua! Hopefully when we return we can finish our tour of the other side of the island!

Verlyn was our personable guide for a private car tour for four. The meeting place was a five minute walk from the cruise ship. The tour title was History Replayed, but it sounds like the standard island tour that other guides offer. We visited the soccer stadium, Nelson’s Dockyard National Park (which required an additional fee), Shirley Heights, Dow's Hill, and several scenic views, and an old rum factory. Many government buildings and churches were pointed out. Verlyn gave us a taste treat of the local black pineapple.
