A great afternoon of kayaking and snorkelling, and really good value. Speed boats took us out to the mangroves where we paddled around an island, looking at the wildlife, and then we sped to Great Bird Island where we went snorkelling. The reef was quite choppy because of the windy weather but the equipment was great and safe. Then a drink and a wander around the island before chilling on the beach. Thanks to our guide Scooby Doo!
There is a spot at Stingray bay for picnics but the snack bar wasn't open. As the tour starts at 12.30, recommend bringing a packed lunch or getting something on the way as nothing was really open nearby.

A fantastic trip out. Very well organised and our guide Scooby was absolutely brilliant. Really attentive and very well informed about the marine life and the ecosystem. The kayaking was great fun and our kids (ages 10 & 14) loved the challenge of paddling around the island. We then sped on in the speedboat to the national park island close by where we swam out to snorkel on the reef and saw stingrays and a huge amount of tropical fish. Scooby then provided us with fruit punch and we explored the beach before heading back. A great trip all round. Would highly recommend.

This is one of the best excursions I ever had..we came from a Celebrity cruise ship and were brought to a nice country house by bus. There we got on a boat that brought us to the mangroves to go kayaking, this is easy and everybody can do it. After kayaking the broughts us to a wonderfull quite beach where we could hike to the top...don't be afraid of the hiking tour, it's not far and the roads are easy. You have an incredeble view over one of the most beautifull islands there is. Relax a litle on the beach before you can go snorkeling, the place is not so far from the coast so if you are not a proffesional this is a perfect way to explore snorkling. This may sound like a lot to do in one day...but because there is plenty of time to relax you will not see it that way. The great thing about the kayaking is the explenation of the guide, he will show you some beautifull fish and seestars. When you get back there is punch and home made bananacake waiting for you, combined with excellent staff. Antigua is an island to most certanly come back to, and if I do, this will be on top of my list to do again!!

We booked this as part of a Princess Cruise Excursion. We took a bus to their facility, which is a tropical setting, with monkeys and birds in big cages under huge Royal Poinciana trees, right on the edge of the mangroves. We took open-air, shallow-draft boats out to a barge/floating dock in the mangroves where they have the two-person kayaks docked. After a safety briefing, we loaded into the kayaks and took a leisurely hour+ tour through the mangroves. The guides, Nick and JR, were both very fun and knowledgeable, and told us all about the mangroves, with stops to identify jelly fish and sea cucumbers, Back to the barge/dock, where we loaded back on to the boats and had a fast run out to Bird Island. We anchored offshore and snorkeled around the reefs - surprisingly, for a "tourist" reef, it was in pretty good shape except for the portion more exposed to the ocean where a hurricane a few years back had torn it up. After about 45 minutes of snorkeling we got back on the boats and headed to Bird Island, a protected habitat, where they served rum punches, water and Nick's Grandma's Most Excellent Banana Bread. We had about another half an hour to swim or explore the island, then back on the boats and back to the shore.
It was a really fun time, the gear was in pretty good order and the guides were entertaining and knew/loved their island. Definitely recommend this tour.

It was definitely one of the best trips so far on my Caribbean cruise. Everything was very well organised. We were picked up by a tour representative from the ship and taken by taxi to the meeting point. We were provided with some equipment such as flippers and life jackets and we took off with a speed boat to a kayak spot. We were kayaking on a lake which was rather shallow. The views were great. Our guide made a couple of stops and told us a little bit about the wildlife. He even managed to find a starfish and some other creatures. After the kayak adventure we were taken again with a speed boat to the snorkeling place. Mask with a snorkel was provided. We stayed there for 30m. Some of people jumped into the water and some stayed on boat. Later we went to the beach and stayed there for another 25m. Rum and banana cake were served. The guide took as for a hike up to the hill with spectacular views.
Great trip and great memories. It's okay even if you are not the best swimmer. You can snorkel in a life jacket or simply stay on a boat! Highly recommended!

Thanks to Adrian(Hercules) and Scooby, you guys rock. Best 3 hour tour!!! We took 3 different groups of friends in 1 month and each time we saw something different. Starfish, upside down jellyfish, baracuda, nurse sharks, pelicans, loobies, loads of fish, coral and beautiful waters. Sorry for stealing the rum punch but it was ooooh so good!

Sean and Demare were absolutely perfect guides. We kayaked, snorkeled, toured out to Hell's Gate Island in a speed boat, and walked along an absolutely stunning white sand beach on Great Bird Island. We had delicious banana bread and wonderful rum punches. And we had Sean & D to keep us entertained, educated, and comfortable.

Great morning's adventure. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the tour and our guide, Damare. The only reason we are giving it 4 stars is that we wished the kayaking and snorkelling parts were longer. The overall tour was less than the 1/2 day as was advertised.
