How much you'll get out of it may very well depend on the size of the group on the course with you.

This wasn't our first time ziplining so we were pretty comfortable with the thrill-seeking aspect of it and also had some idea that the experience could be impacted by group size so we thought booking separately rather than through the tour desk at a resort would give us a better chance of being part of a smaller group. Didn't work out that way. We were still dumped into corral with a bunch of other cattle and given a few minutes instruction on how to manipulate the "bit and bridle."

Despite concerns some may have regarding the physical demands, other than walking some of the trails from line to line, it doesn't place very much stress on the body. As far as safety factors, there's always a degree of risk although the harnesses used here are very secure.

The most detracting aspect of our outing was the sheer number of people in the group with us. It was more like moving along an assembly line with very little interaction with the guides or even others in the group with very little opportunity to take in the flora of rainforest.

So, it can be fun and exciting however in a group of 4 to 6 rather than 12- 15 being clamped onto the lines one after another, you stand the chance of a much more memorable excursion.

If considering ziplining as a family activity, you want it to be safe, yet thrilling enough for all involved. You also look for a decent pace (ie: minimal wait) in between the different lines. Although some walking/hiking is fine to move from one line to another, you do not want it to be too stenuous. From that perspective, Antigua Rainforest Canopy Tour hit all the right notes

What I liked: Really well organized with several instructors at different stations to keep things moving. Once geared up, the wait was rarely more than 3-5 minutes at a particular line to get on the next one. The thrill level was just right with a good mix of short/fast lines and longer, more scenic lines. All lines had brakes had the end and you could tell that safety was top of mind. The course in itself took 75-90 minutes to get through.

What to watch for/could be improved: Nothing significant. The rainforest is nice, but I would not categorize it as scenic or exhilarating. Process to get pictures afterward is a bit slow and complicated - but prices are reasonable.

Highly recommended if you are looking for something on the active side in Antigua

I emailed the owner with feedback, and he has since responded and addressed my concerns about the changes since COVID. I appreciate the time he took so I am amending my review.

My family and I have been big fans and supporters of this company, coming to enjoy the Zip lining every time we go on holiday. Since COVID, the company has decreased tours and increased numbers which makes the experience quite busy. We are used to being in smaller groups and having a more quieter. I have given this feedback to the owner. When you call to book, be very specific to ask the size of the tour, amount of people on it, and I would recommend you don't want to join a tour with more than 20 people on it. Equally, specify the exact time the tour starts (as we were asked to arrive 1.5 hours ahead which was unnecessary in our opinion)

The rangers on the course were friendly and helpful as always, the experience itself is really fun and I really highly recommend it to people who want to Zip Line, however I would recommend that you call before hand and confirm the size of the group on the course, and if bigger than 15 people don't attend.

I hope the owner will find a more effective way to reduce the size of the tours, as the magic of the experience is to be with nature flying through the air. It's great for all ages and I highly recommend it.

Our hostess booked this activity for us before we arrived. We turned up 15 mins early as directed. I was a little nervous about it having never done it before but after doing the first one, I really let go and enjoyed it.
Only think I’d say is the rangers could be friendlier and maybe less preferential treatment to cruise ship passengers, especially when they turn up late. Despite eight people waiting for 25 mins, drinks were offered to the cruise ship passengers on their arrival and then to us, like we’re an afterthought. This didn’t sit well with me at all. We didn’t do the full circuit so was able to select our photos and videos and take our time. I probably won’t go back but definitely happy that I could tick this off my list.

Thank you for your response. I am sorry you feel as though we gave preferential service to other guests. Each and every one of our guests are special and we do not single out any guests for special treatment. We do have an arrangement with some cruise lines to serve their guests a drink which they pay extra for. I am pleased you enjoyed the tour and I hope you have good memories of the zipping

What a fantastic experience. We are a couple in our early 60s and have always wanted to do zip lining but we’re a little apprehensive how we'd get on. However, we needed have worried, it was brilliant. Our rangers (Sherieka and Dion) were excellent and gave really clear instruction so made us feel very safe while at the same time making it fun. We opted for the 6 zip lines which includes the 2 longest and fastest there.
Re a previous comment - we weren’t hassled for donations or even pressured to buy the photos or videos - so much so we didn’t realise until we got back to our hotel that we hadn’t even seen them. Our hotel very kindly got in touch with them and arranged payment so we were able to have them sent to us at our hotel.
Would definitely recommend.

This was a unique zip line through the rainforest. The scenery is beautiful. The length of the lines are short to medium length and it was a lot of fun for our group of five adults. The staff were very nice, fun and professional. This is a great place for beginners since the lines are not really high off the ground. It is good for those who are nervous about heights. One person in our group doesn't particularly like heights and he really enjoyed zip lining here. We loved that the pet dogs and cats are cared for lovingly cared for and protected from predators. TIP: We read that this place is very busy when the cruise ships are in port and you are put in a large group and have to wait. We checked when the cruise ships weren't in port and booked the first tour in the morning and our family of 5 were the only ones on the 9am tour! When we finished our tour there were lots of people at check in. There were no bugs and it wasn't humid.

Getting everyone ready to start took a long time as there were multiple groups. This maybe took half and hour or more.

My partner and I did 8 zip lines and the sting ray (the sting ray city tour is SO worth the money and stingray city is a MUST visit when in Antigua!)

I’m somewhat scared of heights and roller coasters so was dreading this. However, it wasn’t bad at at. You start off with a ‘small tester zipline’ then it gets longer and higher. The guys at the start and end on the zip lines were fab. I told them I was worried so they let me slowly take off. My partner on the other hand would do a run and jump!

Overall, it was a good day out. Would I do it again? No, probably not. I thought I’d be scared doing it but surprisingly I wasn’t. My partner who loves stuff like this classed it as ‘kiddy zips’. It goes by pretty fast too, the set up was just as long as the time we spent zip lining.

At the end you get photos and a video which was nice. A good experience and something fun to do while in Antigua.

Fantastic experience to zip through the forest. Staff and Rangers are fun and friendly, but most importantly always make you feel safe. I'd recommend always going for the full Zip Experience (12+1) as the first few lines you will probably find yourself just getting comfortable with the experience of shooting accross. By the time you've eased in and got your technique right, then the full course gives you more time to enjoy it.

We did the 12+1 zip wire tour. The wires themselves were fun, especially the longer ones, but there was an awful lot of time waiting before before and after each one. There is no information given about the rainforest or any information boards to read whilst waiting at each wire. The set up felt very safe with skilled instructors/guides and lots of COVID protective measures.

Great fun. Book your slot online, arrive fill in some forms and they provide a locker for your personal items. Don’t wear shoes without ties. We participated on 6 lines with a 5 and 10 year old and they loved it. The cafe is also nice and the animals hanging around were happy to be petted by the kids. fun day out.
